The mighty Samsung Wave (smartphone) cannot even download a ZIP or RAR file. It shows unsupported content. How stupid is that. A smartphone that cannot even download a zip file. Even my 5233 can do that and it doesn't have 1GHz processor or 512Mb RAM. What good is all that power if you can't even use it for basic stuff like this.

android , 03 Aug 2010whats up with the lame pricing NOKIA you lost here am g... morewhy are you guy making so much noise about the pricing of n8?it was clearly mentioned a price of 370 before the taks.takses vary from country to country plus vendors and dealers too would want profits from thier deals and that makes sense.and that definitely will raise the price by some 130-150!so make the count(370+(130-150)=500-520)!!SO 500-520EUROS is what to expect on release!the only way nokia can help is droping it's own price down from 370,that might happen but not in 3 months after release!!so there's one thing you can do either buy it or leave it!!cheers!!

A phone is called a smartphone if it has/ brings some computer capabilities such as calculator, clock, calendar, language settings, business apps. (to store atm or debt card pin codes), installing many applications (eg. download games), has media player, and restart button.

It's has its own "BADA" OS... what can run on that? where can you buy/find apps to run on your phone? At least the N8 will support OVI, where you can find tuns of apps.
And what are you going to use for navigation? Garmin? TomTom? Nobody supports "BADA"!! At least Nokia supports OVI MAPS and Navigation...
So good luck on your discission, see you in 6 months.

Now to the good news. One of the parts of Nokia N8 that people were not happy with in the early previews – was the Internet browser. It looked downright lame compared to the browser Nokia already had in N900, wasn’t much of the improvement over S60.5 browser, and looked worse then the current competition. Well, it seems that things may improve here. Eldar says that Nokia is hard at work on a new version of Internet browser for S^3 handsets. Their goal is to have it ready to ship with N8, but if they don’t make it until then, the new browser will come with N8 firmware update in October/November.
And another bit of good news for N8 is about video codecs. There was a slip of tongue by someone at Nokia France few weeks ago, promising native Divx playback on Nokia N8. But that was quickly denied by Nokia themselves. Now it seems that Nokia has changed it’s mind and licensed a bunch of additional video codecs, including DivX, and N8 will ship with them. So, if these rumors pan out, torrenters/downloaders rejoice – you should be able to play your movie files on your Nokia N8 out of the box, without the need of cumbersome conversions, or third party players, which will become available on S^3 god knows when…

you lost here am getting the samsung wave million times better than the nokia n8 at its price point and not to forget the supperamoled screen :)
see ya again in 2 years nokia hope you have some sense by then and a good os you were my fav mobile brand
ps i thought apple fanboys are the worse kinds , but nokia ones arent too behind , but when they will realise after buying a stupid 600 mhz symbian phone it will be too late
look around people android and other platforms are future you are a dying race , but then again you wouldnt have been like this if you guys had any brains .
pps i dont hate nokia , used to love it till the n95 times but after that they are all downhill . Also that was my last nokia phone was still hoping for freaking 4 years they might come up with some good ui or atleast update the hardware but no i was wrong

We hav to admit the fact that Samsung Galaxy and Wave have a better Screen and OS than the Nokia N8. Though the N8 beats the Samsung in other hardware specs, The Samsung Galaxy and Wave feel and look just awesome with those SuperAmoled Screens. They look futuristic.

680MHz + GPU = 1.3GHz = more than enough for the 1200mAh..
if the main procesor is higher it would be a disaster for the battery.. Like what happen to the N82..
