Nothing is wrong with those videos, nothing is wrong with the processor, it think the problem is with your eyes or u r mentally sicked. I m not sure whether u luv this phone or not, but pliz leave us at once if u hate it.

    Nokia have majority market in india but it is losing it. Because of delay of sets in india. It announced nokia N900 aug 2009 but it came to stores after a year. Now nokia was announced in april but it is not yet out. Atleast announce release date so that people can decide to wait for release of phone to buy or go other brand. Nokia IT IS MY HUMBLE REQUEST PLEASE ANNOUNCE release date of N8 or else nobody is gonna wait for this phone they will switch so other brand phones

          JUST WONDERING, 26 Jul 2010Do you guys think that the processor speed (not being 1ghz)... moreI don't want to be pessimistic, but according to
          all videos previews i can see around, it would be almost same speed as my N900, means, nowhere like "current gen" phones like Samsung wave / Galaxy S / HTC Desire / Nexus One / Iphone 3GS/4 (I don't know about Motorola Droid XT720 and SE X10, i never saw them running in real).

                what is MEEgO?

                samsung is very competative here in the phillippines samsung jet2,samsung wave,omnia is best seller. samsung galaxy beam coming soon in the phillippines. im confused about nokia N8 i saw many videos in youtube is something slow motion N8. or the processor problem? i think N8 is good. but im doubt the carl zenon optic. some other nokia carl zenon optic 3.15MP,5MP is too bad.. but in other brand like SE,SG 3MP.5MP is nice graphics. i hope nokia N8 will improve sound,camera.. i wish to buy this soon. i want more review about N8 sound,camera,video,resolution.

                  I truly hope that Nokia reads the signs and come up with great devices that can be upgraded to either Symbion ^4 or MeeGo. Most Importantly, Nokia needs to let the coustomer feel stable again. For sure, its not pushing people to purchase a device that cant be upgraded with the new OS coming ou few months later. but there is a flagship, a real star from Nokia that gets highly underestimated! Its the N900. This device is fabulous and deserves all the support Nokia can provide. this really is special compared to ALL other devices! Its above any other phone, just on reasons I dont catch, everybody claims it a device for some special fellows… still, I think that should be the way of Nokia in the future. However, suddently Maemo 5 is old and everybody looks for MeeGo. And after MeeGo will have release, Nokia will again change the OS within one year?? Guys, please start become more wise and responsible! I trust the Maemo Community and they will make MeeGo running on the N900 but the credit will be on the Linux community but not Nokia… time to change

                  My vision on “N8″; The first time i saw a picture of the “N8″(April 2010) i just wanted to have this new Nokia device. It’s interesting to read “Realphoney”’s post above, comparing the “N8″ with Samasung’s “i8910HD”, because this is excactly the device i had in mind when i mailed Nokia back in 2009 about what i was missing in the N97 (and why i didn’t bought it) mentioning a amoled screen, 8mp camera+Xenon and HD video capabilities. Reading the “N8″ specs i had the feeling that someone at Nokia read my mail very well.

                  Then there’s also “Muugo” posting he’s still using his N95 due to the way of Nokia’s marketing announcing new devices 6 months in advance making us “waiting for the next one”… wich is absolutely my case :-)

                  In addition to the “i8910″-specs Nokia added some great features to the “N8″ such as HDMI-out, 12mp camera (C.Z.),Dolby Digital Plus and WiFi-n. and of course it’s brand new Symbian^3 OS, like it or not but i do! (there’s more but those are the most important to me).

                  The jump from my trusty N95 to the “N8″ will be enormous and i’m unpatiently waiting to put my hands on it. Last unofficial rumors saying release will be end August, i prefer to wait for a perfectly finished “N8″ just a little longer than having it right now full of bugs.

                  Despite some negative pre-reviews (most popular will be the one by Eldar Murtazin) i think the “N8″ is the first step back in the right direction for Nokia in the High-End market. The “N8″ just has the look for succes, you just gotta love it and i’m convinced that many will do, just like many will love it’s reasonable price setting, a lot of value for your money is not an unimportant factor in times of economic crisis.

                  Upgrade to Symbian^4 is a popular demand by Nokia “N8″-fans including myself but the silence by Nokia on this matter is telling me that there will be no such thing i guess. Do we need more RAM inside? Compared to the newest high end devices from competitors it lookes like YES, but we’ll only know that for sure once we’ll have the “N8″ in our hands to use it. I hope that they know what they are doing putting 256mb RAM inside, will this be sufficiant to run several apps simultaneously without “freezing” the “N8″? Nokia says it will be no problem due to the new “Symbian^3″ OS memory management capabilities. I hope so, or will Nokia surprise all with more internal memory when released?

                  One thing for sure, i will wait for the “N8″ to be released. As soon as a “blue”-version hits the stores i’ll be there to go and get it !!!

                    Here’s an excerpt of the post on Nokia Q2 results/50 mil S^3 devices, I’m working on:

                    …according to conservative estimates, Nokia expects to ship 50 million Symbian^3 handsets over the life of the platform. At first glance it sounds like really great news. Both for Nokia. And developers. Writing an app for a platform of 50 mil devices sounds like a very attractive opportunity. But only at first glance.

                    At the current pace, it will take at least a year for Nokia to sell 50 million Symbian^3 handsets. First, this seems to squash any lingering hopes I had that Nokia will wise up and will start offering OS upgrades (S^3–>S^4, and beyond), so their top of the line phones do not feel obsolete 6-7 months after release. The stuff their biggest smartphone competitors has been doing now for more then a year.

                    But what’s worse, this 50 million S^3 handset goal means that at about this time next year, Nokia will be actively promoting 5 different smartphone platforms: S60 FP3 for non-touchscreen handsets, S^1 S60 5th ed. for cheap touchscreen smartphones, S^3 for higher end devices, newly launched top of the line Symbian^4 smartphones and Meego mobile computers. It looks like a fragmentation nightmare both for Nokia and developers to support.

                    Am I missing something here?

                    I think the most user-noticeable difference is that Symbian^4 will use QT even for the built-in apps (contacts, homescreen, etc.). Third-party apps will use QT on both Symbian^3 and ^4 so those should look the same on both OSes.

                    For those who do not know, QT is a better “way” to make apps, and will also be used on MeeGo (so MeeGo apps can in theory be ported to Symbian^3 and ^4 with minimal effort).

                    - Symbian^3 has S60 AVKON backward compatibility, which means it runs all the apps that already exists for devices like 5800, 5230 and N97. Symbian^4 is not compatible with AVKON.

                    - Symbian^3, while being backward compatible, is also forward compatible – it has Qt, so it run all the apps that Symbian^4 also runs (at least that’s the idea).

                    - Symbian^3 already has a lot improvements like: speed, networks handling, 3D graphics acceleration across the board, better memory management and more.

                                The phone responds to notifications through movement. An electromagnet in the base of the phone allows weight to be shifted which causes the phone to stand up when receiving a call, for example.

                                To dismiss a call, the user can simply give the phone a gentle tap, causing it to fall back down again and return to standby mode. There’s no word on whether this design will make it to real life, but it’s an interesting concept that could be very useful. Standing up on its own is a much cooler notification than vibrate. We also won’t need to buy an additional phone stand accessory if it can do it by itself.

                                      Nokia is still market leader (has the biggest market share) not only in the mobile phones but in the Smartphones segment as well.
                                      I am happy to see really reasonable innovation they are trying to integrate (not trying to invent new places to plug your antenna to). Although the technology is long time available by Linux terminal mode.

                                      Well if this helps application development of MeeGo I'll be happy.

                                      It looks like a good OS, and combined with the N series it should be a winner. The only thing it doesn't have is the wide app selection that Android and Apple have.

                                      This is going to get very ugly. We can't have android, iOS, WM7 and Meego all happily living together with different app programming languages. Someone's gotta go or someone has to allow their competitors apps on their phones.

                                      My guess? Android apps on Meego or vice versa

                                      Nothing is stopping the developer developing for more than one of d platforms(if the needs arises). Smartphones maybe very popular right now but the feature phone market is still very large in the western markets which implies that Smartphones(old timers & new timers) still have so many untapped markets.

                                      Choice and competition FTW!

                                      Yeah that's what i wanna see for MeeGo.
                                      Netbook, tablet and phone UX having example deep sync possibilities like example syncing all the music and setting over. Something that we are now seeing with some of the desktop linux distros.
