phones fan, 25 Jul 2010i own a samsung wave,it can multi task easily,with no lag, ... moreI only trust my own personal experiences.
I believe the Samsung Store won't be stupid enough to use the outdated phone as their promotion display device.
Same goes to N8. I don't expect it to be super fast.
Most videos shown that it is fast enough though.
But most importantly, it have 12mp camera, xenon flash, HDMI port, Radio w transmitter, free OVI map, dual mic for video recording...etc.
All these goodies are enough for me even IF N8 is not as fast as what videos has shown.
Wave can never have that.
So N8 yessssssss!!!

The only Nokia that surpasses anything to date is the Nokia N900. N900 is not for average cell phone user but rather for those who are tech oriented and want more bang for their bucks. I’ve been using the N900 for 6 month and it is the only mobile phone with full web browser (this means that what ever you can open video, audio, flash files, java, etc) you can open it on the N900. The media player is bullet proof playing any type of media file, simply drag and drop. Then there’s the Internet radio which is Nokias trademark which allows you to enter the URL of the stream and listen to few thousand radio stations broadcasting on the net and more. Also N900 uses the open source software and in very short time there are more usefull programs available for N900 that useless apps for iphone. There was a study about the few thousand apps available on iphone and they found out that %50 were dupplicates, %25-%30 were useless apps and only about %20 was worth a dime. Example; to get an ebook on iphone you have to download an app for every book thats availbale. On the N900 simply open the browser click on the book and begin reading. Ask yourself this question, how many apps do you have on your computer to access programs on the internet? If your computer was so poorly designed as iphone that you would need an app for everything that you have to do with it, you would then buy a computer that had hardware and OS which simply ran programs off the net and was able to execute them.

iphone is one the worst device ever made. I work in the industry and have used almost every mobile phone made since 2000. The probloem with iphone is that it is extremely boring, not user friendly and lacks hardware to process simple programs. This is the reason that you can only use applications on the iphone. Due to its limitation and shortcoming unless there is an app out ther for price, you can not access anything. HTC is a much better choice. However, their OS lacks stability, speed and reliability. Hang ups freezing and slow-down is common problem even with their latest HD2 model. Nokia on the other hand missed the boat on the touch screen market when they released the N97 which worked great out of the box but when other programs where installed it began to have problems. On the upside ther is only one good thing I can think of about the iphone. You can always find another idiot to buy the iphone for more than what you paid for it.

i agree it has great specs but os is very laggy, that u will not find in any other phone in the competive market. and added to that os it has a weak ram which will slow down the phone even more. u will experience very bad internet. if u are not in a position to buy a camera go for this cell. im not apple or samsung fanboy, just a techno geek.. there is a big scam in youtube, the guy uses a 1ghz processor in nokia n8 which showed it was very fast dont believe it...... if u want more confirmations about nokia n8 u will find it with my close friend working in nokia his number is
09502013858. he is currently using samsung galaxy x which he says is the best phone in the market

N8 has a gorilla glass display
N8's anodized aluminum body casing + gorilla glass for the touchscreen are = strong and durable N8!

The great thing about Nokia is they produce updates time to time to improve more the user experience. Im not saying that when you buy a Nokia phone is the user experience is not good. Samsung and Sony Ericsson phones are all faulty. They dont care about you after you buy their handsets. Well they have your money already.

N8 suppose to have Broadcom BCM2727 Gpu, which has VideoCORE 3.0 integrated system, which can play/record 720p hd videos and capture 12mp picture.. So all these stuff on N8 is done by Gpu not Cpu..
N8 will arrive here in Phils soon.

Im sorry but i trully think this phone is going to be another let down. The problem here is not really the stuff (specs) nokia puts in but rather the shitty symbian OS, that doesnt really works...Its a waste of money but something that doesnt really works!!

at last i own samsung wave now, i couldn't wait for N8. I am stunned on its speed on apps and games, i hope N8 could rivaled this. well good luck to nokia, 1ghz arm cortex 8 is fast, real fast. like zoom zoom zoom... user experience is half the price you pay, superamoled, 5.1 dolby mobile thru headphone, 1 ghz cpu, hd recording, snappy UI. i always gets frustated in everything that is slow and laggy even in real life, i work fast & straightforward and should expect my tools not to give me headaches too.

I wish that Nokia N8 has a faster Cpu instead of the 680 Mhz and what is the 256Mb and 512mb used for if there is a internal 16Gb. Why can't the 16Gb internal storage memory used as a ramdrive storage. Just curious about the 256 and 512mb memory. That's all
