Such a great phone... but unfortunately by the time its released (looks like October as of now), there will most likely be plenty of even better phones available. Wish they'd release it sooner like next month

Good idea for developers to change N8 UI: get 5 home screen, screen #1 cannot fast change to screen #5. Just change by 12345.. 54321. Screen #3 is original with clock, calendar, date...

          [deleted post]Your link looks weird.
Like some fake link to cheat people.
I do not dare to try.

          But "low battery"?
          Are you kidding?
Look at the spec before your post. Thanks.

            Better than IOS at least.

But when it comes to functionality, it is better than IOS or Android.

Maybe lesser home screen out of the box.
But it is enough for me.
Most likely Nokia will increase the number of home screen in their next updates or maybe some third party apps can help to do that.
But for me, it is enough even if it is just one home screen.

Hardware features wise, N8 is much more better than most of it same rank phone in the market.

              ==

well if it isnt better than current OSes on the market.. UI wise and functionality, then yeah its outdated before its out..

i dont mind the Symbian at all, but when i stop and think about Meego, hmmmmmmm :P

qwerty, 22 Jul 2010Why would you need 5 home screen with 30 widgets? What cou... morehello. Why Nokia lost ground to competitors is precisely this limitation which makes Symbian and 3. Why only three screens. why not 5 or 6, or 7/android.
Yes it's true if you have multiple phone screens decreases performance. Galaxy's Samsung when it recognizes that the CPU has the same performance over seven screens and a mobile phone is damn fast.
Nokia loses ground for this software. He appeared Maemo. Hooray. He disappeared Maemo.
If not move along to have a Nokia phone for nothing, however only those that sell them, software is the key.
I have a Nokia E50. good phone but the software is already aged, was good three years now. move forward.
                Good luck.

the other Ooperating systems may seem better, but functions speaks louder than beauty when it comes to phones..

A must must read article!- The Nokia way, past, present and future : http://communities-dominate.blogs.com/brands/2010/07/obituary-for-opk-wall-street-is-a-cruel-mistress-nokia-searching-for-ceo.html

A stance from it about N8 and failure of N97:

                          ******************************************************
When Nokia finally did an 'iPhone killer' - that project failed. And this falls onto the feet of OPK. The N97 was a rare disaster phone for Nokia and with hind-sight, its clear to see, Nokia would have been better served by delaying the N97 until it was more-or-less bug-free, than hurrying the phone to the market. The lessons from the N97 were very painful to Espoo and no doubt those lessons are why Anssi Vanjoki delayed the N8 launch now, knowing its not good enough yet, and wanted to refine it before releasing it.
                          ******************************************************

n8 is much better than wave. wave only has samoled and 480 x 840. theres many useles space in the wave. N9 will also feature a 12mp. the one in the rumor mill is the Nokia E7. I hope it has 1500 mah.

the two of N8 could have been better- first the proceesor should have been atleast 1Ghz speed, secondly the screen resolution could have been enhanced to 800*400. Then N8 could have been one of the rarest and finest mobile product ever produced by any company but still it is game changer.
