phones fan, 21 Jul 2010i am not sure that you really own samsung galaxy S,because ... moreThe Galaxy S display is good. The colors are great, the brightness is ok but the pixel resolution is a cheat. It doesn't have true 800x600 resolution and the sharpness of the iphone4 display is clearly better.
Since this is about N8 I suspect that the display will have regular RGB pixel arrangement which almost give it the same effective resolution as Galaxy S becuse this strange PenTile pixel arrangement. Now, if I buy a Nokia N8 I will probably not downgrade too much when it comes to sharpness of the display.
Nokia N8 despite its less powerful hardware seems to be more versatile and you can just do more with it, that's why this phone still appeal to me.

... morei am not sure that you really own samsung galaxy S,because it has the best screen in the market ,the super amoled has the best contrast,the best black color,you have to see the s amoled by your naked eyes not through LCD screen.
and for this pixel stuff and resolution stuff :the samung galaxy has 480x800 pixels while the iphone 4 has 640x960 but when holding both phones from a normal distance you will not see any difference in the sharpness but you will notes that the super amoled screen can not beaten :

by the way i own samsung wave which has the same super amoled screen and the first thing people say when they see my phone: oh my god what a beautiful screen ;)

Everyone is so excioted and comments are saying " this phone is amazing".. how do any of you know if it has not been released? just wait and see before you all comment, it can be a dissapointment, maybe the reception wont be good ;) lol, u never know!

It's been so long since nokia announced N8 and it may be available only at the end of next month. I'm not complaining though. I actually like how Nokia do their business. Instead of rushing their phones from the factory they actually take time just to make sure everything works fine. It makes the wait worthwhile.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S which has a PenTile display which is not true 800x600, more like according to the article 392x653. This gives it that jagged look at high contrast fringes which I find irritating.
I suspect that the display is similar to the one in Samsung Omnia HD which has the same resolution. Can anybody tell if that display has the same jagginess artifacts as Nexus one and Galaxy S.

If we have to wait till October for the Release of the N8,this will just show Why? Nokia is not Up-To-Date in the Mobile Market,an how can it take so long for a mobile to be produced by Nokia,They are going to lose out again as more Up-to-date mobiles will be Released about the same time as its not far of xmas,How are Nokia Progressing nowdays Shocks Everyone,so Slow to react to the TouchScreen Demands an thought normal handsets would be more demanding,but got it All Wrong Again,We used to Top Class Mobiles nearly Every Month but now all they release is the Budget Mobiles,an losing Touch,they must have known about the new iPhone4 an it release it date but did we get a mobile from Nokia to Challenge it,No-the N8 4 months after, so does that just shows whats Wrong at Nokia,an its Shocking whats going on at Nokia nowdays,too Slow All the Time an not showing an Progress at All

It's good if it has been updated to AMOLED.
it really has been updated to AMOLED or has it been AMOLED from start..

Nokia N-8 is really great cell phone. I like it very much and i will purchased it very soon as will be available in the market.
