[deleted post]being threatened by the N8, iphone boy? and what has being copied of an iphone into N8? the menu structure is completely different, it's clearly a symbian menu not the iphone copy like samsung makes in some devices. the touchscreen? apple has no monopoly on using touchscreens, all manufacturers have them why not nokia?
and btw dropping this phone might not harm it as much as dropping an iphone with glass front and back....

Why didn"t Nokia realise the Threat that Apple was going to make into there Sales an Shares, earlier than know,Nokia have been more bothered about it Services than its Mobiles,we had the N95 Boom ,an Nokia then thought knowone would beat them, but for a Large Company like Nokia they have made big mistakes,an not moving the Symbian software on until the now, they lost out in Camera mobile market with Samsung an Sony Ericsson leaving them behind with the Pixon an Satio, but nothing at all from Nokia,an they did not join the Touch Screen mobile market till late,o.k there touch screen mobiles might impress the mid-range market with the 5800 an then disaster with there supposed be the Top Range mobile the N97,hope now in the 3/4 of 2010-2011 we do see Nokia change there ideas an really start to compete more with Apple an Htc,an also stop Samsung doing what Nokia use to do bring a different mobile every month an stop them stealing the limelight from Nokia

Ammado, 18 Jun 2010i'd like to know from those people who define the n8 as a m... moreI'm also not quite sure about the judgment that N8 is a mid-range phone. Ehm.. maybe because of its processor or something. Afaik, all the features that N8 has is comparable to those high-end phones.
Yes, N8 has TV out via composite (3,5 mm jack) and will work on standard TV (non HD).

Ammado, 18 Jun 2010i'd like to know from those people who define the n8 as a m... moreYou don't classify phones as high end or midrange by their specs sheet. You classify them by their price. The release price of this phone is lower than the current price of the iphone 3g.

i'd like to know from those people who define the n8 as a mid-range phone, what are the basis of their judgment? what else should be there in a mobile phone to be categorized as high-end? and what does the iphone actually "does" that this phone, or even any other high/mid range phones, cannot do?
and, i need a clarification about if the n8 has tv out functionality through the standard 3.5 jack. meaning, can it work on non-hd tvs or what?

Annie, 18 Jun 2010N8 is not mid-range, but high end for a lower price. the ip... more@£320.00 the phone is cheaper than the year old N97 which retails at £399 and that's after a massive price reduction and the later ain't exactly a phone one could be proud of.
Mid range spec apart from the camera but a camera alone does not sale a phone
Whether the Iphone is over priced we'd have to ask the people who buy it, they're either insane or simply appreciate and understand how much better the phone is compared to what is available on the market.
Anyway N8 and Symbian^3 seems to be having similar problems as the N97 if they release it is " which I think they will coz the problems are still present in current phones after all the updates", then they are simply doomed watch this video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz3utELHCL4 at 40 secs in "Memory Full Error" and at 6.31 "System error message" Nokia gonna need all the luck to compete.

Anonymous, 18 Jun 2010Two phones in two different categories. N8 is mid range hen... moreN8 is not mid-range, but high end for a lower price. the iphone is very overpriced device, and there's not a lot of functions which are high-end on it. all it has in favor for itself is the touchscreen and the fashion statement. it ain't even a smartphone, just a phone which has it's 15 minutes of fame right now because of all the useless apps that are available.
the apps on symbian are far more functional (speaking of s60 apps, since S^3 is not yet available) office editors etc.
I still don't see why an iphone should be worth the price they ask. it's not the memory, 16Gb of microsd costs about 30€. so you'll pay twice the money for design and brand name.
I think nokia is just asking a reasonable price for a full-feature high-end phone, not just a higher price for brandname
