EdB, 11 Jun 2010The only thing 12mp does is produce poster-sized photos. Wh... moreLOL basic knowledge says the more the better right? Besides tell me this what would you want since we're talking about mp's and stuff, a 12mp phone with a low price or a 5mp phone with ridiculously high price?
It's like you're saying 'why the does the iPhone 4 have such a pixel dense display when the Galaxy S's is good enough?'. Who wants 12mp on a phone?? I DO.

EdB, 11 Jun 2010The only thing 12mp does is produce poster-sized photos. Wh... moreNot really.
The larger the pixel count, the better the clarity of the picture when it is compressed.
So, for example, if you compress a 12mp picture, the resulting picture would have almost perfect clarity.

The only thing 12mp does is produce poster-sized photos. Who wants that? You'll have clearer & more usable shots with a fraction of the mps. Even the 5mps on my N82 produce shots that are too large.

DivX and .mkv support have been confirmed for this phone.
GSMArena should add them to the spec list

I live in a remote rural setting and this phone out performs most phones (esp. new little ones ) as it has awsome reception. I can get a signal where no other phone can.

I've lost interest in purchasing this phone after I read the recent article about Nokia C7.
In the article, N9 seems to be the flagship phone, so I'll just wait for N9 to be released.

Get a life. The N8 is 10X more popular as the Samsung HD. Plus the HD is so old. And I want a device with the best OS. Not some outdated brick :-)

No where can I find whether or not this phone is rSAP enabled, in Bluetooth. This is one of the big short comings in most smart phones. If you run a modern main stream European car with their inbuilt hands free kit, they nearly all require rSAP to use the full features.

What was I think due in April is now due in August. I think that is so stupid as I sold my iPhone 3GS for this the other day. Now because of the long wait Im thinking of going for the iPhone 4 instead.
I just wonder as to why the postponed it for another 4 months. I could understand 1 or 2 months, but why 4?

boring UI? like apple is so much better? all it is are a bunch of icons lined up...i'd be surprise and straight up angry if it wasn't fast with such simple OS especially if i have to shell out 700 or more USD for it. RIDICULOUS

from_the_US, 11 Jun 2010I dont know about others, but I feel using a 12MP camera to... moreMy first ever nokia phone was the nokia 5300. It had a 1.3 mega pixel snapper which at the time i thought was magical. After it, i got the nokia n95 which hat a 5mp. It seemed like the end of the road for mobile camera technology. I got the 5800 and sold it almost immediately because i wasn't satisfied with its camera plus all the bugs and. . . Now i'm using a n95 8gb which is to arguably one of the best snappers in the 5mp range.
5mp cameras are good - that is when you wanna view the pics on your phone but when you wanna take landscape shots and view on a pc, the lack of detail is irritating. As far as i'm concerned, the better the pixel count the better. No number of pixels is excessive. If you don't like 12mp shots them reduce it in the camera settings.
