Carol, 18 Nov 2012Hey, i can see you have some battery problems, i see you al... moreI usually put to charge when the percentage shows 10% in Nokia battery monitor.

What u are coming to say is :

      > Put to power saver mode (when battery becomes low).
      > Switch off the mobile and put to full charge.
      > Switch on the mobile and wait for 10 minutes.
      > Then charge to full level again.

      Right?.

I will try after getting from Nokia care (may be this month end).

I have bought Nokia DC-16 (external battery) since this cheater N8 is eating up battery quickly.

Anonymous, 18 Nov 2012u expected good battery backup and i expected skype videoca... moreWhat the hell?.

I use Nokia 5320 for alarm and SMS. I use N79 as secondary handset since N8 is given to Nokia care (bettery backup issue).

I use Nokia 1280 for hearing the time in the mid sleep (without waking up and looking at the mobile) by long pressing the star button.

I have the super hit models of Nokia (N79, 5320 and 1280). Why should I sell?. My collegue has Samsung S7562. He is also saying that battery lasts only for 24 hours !!!.

sanbin24, 18 Nov 2012hey Carol... Let me ask u one thing.. Is nokia's future b... moreI don't know, there are allot of conspiracy's about that ELOP. The thing is nokia started to go down before ELOP. I think nokia got tired of investing in Symbian, cause as i was always saying, Symbian is harder to update, it is harder to work on it's core. So Nokia, because of the quickly coming new OS's, needed to find quick a good and stable system to adopt. So, Microsoft being the experienced ones. They bet on WP phone. Just another conspiracy:)

Now you're just a TROLL. Who cares about your yahoo and skype video-calling anyway? There is laud and clear that skype and yahoo does not support symbian entirely and not vice versa. If they are to lazy to do it or they don't know the core of symbian, doesn't mean symbian is to blame. Second, s2 better battery? This guy here has a 20 hours problem not a "12 hours and i'm proud" like that plasticsqarecrapp has. Please go to samdung forum and praise that device there. Here you're comment's will be deleted... soon.

Uninstall it, it is know to cause some battery drain in some phones. After that, let the battery drain to the point it asks you to put it in powersaving mode. turn it off and plug it in for the charge, after complete, turn it on wait to load and plug it back in until full charge. after done, plug it out and let it to cool out for 10 minutes, then you can use it. Do like this 3 or 4 times and come back with good news:)

AnonD-50635, 18 Nov 2012So carol.. what should we do to get most out of battery lif... moreDon't let it deplete, li-ion does not have a memory impact. Some say it is good for time to time to bring it to the 0% level so it will calibrate, some say it doesn't matter. Some say you should keep your phone off for like one hour from time to time so to make your battery to "chill out" some say it doesn't matter cause the li-ion likes to be charged often. Their is a theory that says: let's say a battery has 3000 full recharges life (that's it) it is better not to let it deplete to level 0% and charge it to 100% cause will die sooner, simple cause it is a full charge. So reminding that you have only 3000 full recharges, in this theory, if you charge it every time from 0 to 100 you will have only 3000 times, after that, something will crack:)... in theory, of course. So, if you are home and need to go for one day, and your phone is, like 50% discharged, plug it in and let it charge to 100%. You will have a fully charged phone without loosing not even 1 time charge from that 3000. This meaning that your battery will live longer... in theory... After all my researching about how to take care of my battery's they all had something in common. That the lithium battery likes to be charged often, the more often you charge it the more life you will get from it, also the more power will give you so your phone can go through days when you need it to do that. Sometimes i charge it like crazy sometimes i don't. My phone is like used for me to charge it when it's between 10% and 20%, when i charge it like this, it lasts longer. But keeping in mind that li-ion like voltage, i charge it and unplug it when ever i want or need to:). There are so much to say, you can make a small book with this, so please folow this google search if you need more info http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&tbo=d&sclient=psy-ab&q=how+to+get+the+best+out+of+a+lithium+ion+battery&oq=how+to+get+the+best+out+of+a+lithium+ion+battery&gs_l=serp.3..0i8.5190.5734.0.5975.2.2.0.0.0.0.385.385.3-1.1.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.1.0qVdTNw3_Eg&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=57c5539173c220a0&bpcl=38625945&biw=1366&bih=650

I have Nokia N79, 5320 EM and 1280. All these did not show worst backup (like N8) when they were new. I use iON battery timer for N79 and 5320 EM to know the battery charge level.

Only this idiot cheater (N8) is behaving like this.

I have given N8 to Nokia care. Lets see this month end. If I don't get a solution, I will sell this N8 and I will buy Samsung I9070 Galaxy S advance with almost similar features like N8.

Do not drain your battery at 0%, it will ruined battery.
They start degrading as soon as they leave the factory. They will only last two or three years from the date of manufacture whether you use them or not.
Lithium-ion does not need to be fully charged; a partial charge is better.

this is really a biggest harassment by symbian that it really has no skype and yahoo videocall. I brought n8 only for videocall purpose but except fring and from 3g dialer. It really does not support any videocall. No yahoo no skype no google talk. It only has that bloody cloud chatting from these services which is really useless. What a crap shit nokia. Tough n8 has many features but still it is useless. Even cheap android phones made by samsung supports yahoo videocall and skype call too. Nokia and symbian is really a crap in front of samsung cheap phones. Even symbian does not even supports new fring version. So my next phone will be samsung and i really want not only symbian but even whole nokia should be permanentaly discontunied in the whole world. So bye bye nokia forever. Android is best.

I have given my mobile for service. Lets see. I think I will get back by this month end (29th or 30th Nov 2012).

I asked African students who are studying in the ARTS college in the same college campus. They told that they get 2 days of backup in their mobile which they bought from Africa. The mobile looked old. So even after getting old, they get 2 days backup means, then they should have got 3 days backup when it was new !!!. I think that one may have been a good piece.
