i got nokia n900 and n8 right know ... the n900 is better and cost more and able too watch more and better moview quality... but n8 has 12 mp, who needs that much it will take all the memory and connot suport as much movies or music as the n900... and also the n900 has more memory it is better then putting 32gb in it becaz in my office they can steal it or take it... so my upinion is that the n900 is a lot better and n900 also has a stand for watching movies and better battery then n8. and n8 body is made in china these r some of the things that it didnt right...!!!! 8/

Just to question the ill informed public that bashes this product...if they put 1Ghz CPU, better and removable battery and iphoneHD like screen resolution and price it the same 370 euro...would you reconsider it then?
Do you really think that Nokia has the slightest interest in doing that? Are you all high? The phone is suppose to have weak spots as this is a MIDRANGE device! It just so happens that it will compete, on the feature level, with some of the high end babies. :) I'm going to be happy with the ARM1176 cpu in it, but would I be happier if it was a A4 like in iPad? Sure! But then the price goes up and I just don't care about technology THAT much to pay premium price for a gadget that will, maybe, be worth half the the follow year.
There was a dud here, Tom i think, bragging about lifetime support for his x10. Man, what a load of BS. At the pace technology evolves I would not be surprised if he comes back a year latter, new nick, new phone. ^_^ Life time support, come on! When I looked at my Corsair Voyager and saw a 10 year warranty card I went 'Like, for real? I'm not going to stick with this for that long!' Want prof? In a few years USB 3.0 will be everywhere! Everyone will have fast file transfers and you think I'm just going to stand by with my slow thumb drive? Nah, I'll be getting the speed fix like Tom here. The warranty or support is just something they use on us to consider buying their product. They know the market, they know the pace and they know how to sell technology.
And regarding Symbian...isn't it a mature OS? Can you think of anything that you cant do with it? Its UI is what it is but you don't have to stick with it. Install a shell and enjoy the face-lift.
Ever had that situation where you had a nice photo on your phone and you wanted to send it to your friends iphone via bluetooth? Yeah, wait just a sec, let me get my PC/Mac and fire up the iTunes/almighty control/no freedom BS app. And btw, now in Croatia the iPhone 3GS goes for about 1000euro with no contract. Yes, no typo there! In the US guess the thing goes for FAR less. Is our iphone here that much special that we pay and arm and a leg for it? So what, I have to pay premium for a shitty phone that I must jailbrake just to get the functionality all other phones have out of the box? 'You cant receive a photo over BT? Really?'
Never have I had that kind of wow moment with my N82. Never! Installed X-plore and could send whatever file-format to any device. Well, almost any :). Sure the fruit device looks pretty and has nice games but personally I prefer a OS that does not think for me, does not restrict me and yes I use flash because I WANT to. Steve can eat an apple for all I care, can produce the finest phone in the world but when he says 'no flash...uh..because...well...just because its a shitty tech...'(and we all know if he did allow flash on the isuck that his app store would crumble like a stack of dimes) then the matter becomes personal and I, although in a minority, will NOT use it! The phone can bake me toast and make coffee in the morning but if there is no photo sharing over BT than I'll pass it to the majority of people who don't have a problem with that kind of restrictions. As I said, it becomes personal and I for one will not support it.
Where do I fit the N8 in all of this? Well, I don't know. :) I did hear that the phone is yet to be released so I'll hold my judgment till it does. And if someone wants to point the shortcomings of Symbian then by all means. But, whatever you say you can't beat the biggest selling point of this device-the price! And I guess thats why people try to slam it on the ground so much, don't know....Tom, would you buy your X10 if you knew the N8 was comin'?Would your comments be any different? We'll never know for sure I guess. All I can say is that buying this device will prove to be a well invested venture....(speaking for myself! Don't care if you disagree :), just proves our interests and needs are different, thats all). Cheers!

x10????? I think out of 1000 people, maybe 1 people will leave a good comment for him and only out of 10000 people, only 1 will buy it. To me, it is definitely a failure. Who the hell in the market will launch a phone with massive no of BUGS in this era?

This is a cool Device. And the first device with 3D Graphic accelerator. it will be good if it support something like "xbox live" service.
And i think nokia might launch the device too late and no specific cool features that can wow me.
Plus The current market is flooding with so much cool devices.
-Will people get a phone because it has graphic
accelerator?(for me, I won't)

This forum is annoying me due to some guys asking stupid question which I had already answered.
And for the information android 2.1 is also just a bugfix-ment of android 1.6 with some improve usability. Same thing Nokia also do with their firmware update. They bring some new services and fix the bugs..
There are also many people who even dont know what open source mean.. Since Symbian^3 is open source so you will also see new features on N8 via firmware upgrade..
And also I finally want to mention that N8 will costs about 400 euro but its picture quality and video quality is even better then most of compact digital cameras priced at 250 euro. I'm not saying this, expert are saying. And its also Nokia so we will also get all the new upgrades time to time unlike SE Or Samsung who even dont give any kind of support.. I can assure people they will recieve support from Nokia for atleast 3 years..!
If anyone dont like my comment dont reply me, I will not answer any nonsense. If you like you can give feedback.

Finally the Symbian phone has smileys in the sms. You pick them from a menu showing the yellow smileys...geuss what...they are shown as characters in the sms. Fail!! And they are not standard compliant either (See wiki) another fail. And not the same as they used to have in their cheap phones. What are they doing ???

Rajesh, 31 May 2010You will have to wait about 6 to 8 months to know what I am... moreHi Rajesh,
I appreciate your enthousiasm, I really do, but you cannot compare those things. I understand that older processors will disappear, and then newer processors will come, like multi core arm processors, which S^3 supports.
I also agree with you that large video card with a pentium 2 cpu is not a match made in heaven, because neither Windows, OSX or Linux are suitable for such configurations. Tech does not work the same way everywhere.
Again, I can understand you think the ARM 11 is old tech for a new device, in itself it is. But, as part of this package, with this OS and this GPU it makes PERFECT sense to do it. I would like to ask you to follow your own advice, wait and see, how this terribly slow CPU will make the N8 fly.
Not flaming here, but just look at the facts. My point is proven more or less by the fact that the N8 beats the 8910 by a mile in all benchmarks, even though the 8910 has a much newer processor.
The key point here is, you can only make sensible comparisons ceteris paribus. Which you are not doing when making an analogy to desktop architecture, or having the OS and the Processor as variables at the same time. Logic does not work like that.
Anyway, the only thing that really matters, is if the phone is responsive and quick and the battery life is good. The rest is just a black box from the perspective of a consumer, as opposed to aficionados like us. Agree?
