Nokia Belle FP2 appears in test results

Owners of newer Symbian phones got some good news recently when Nokia announced that they'll be getting a Feature Pack 1 update for their smartphones. They might be in for some more good news - results on the HTML5 Test list results for "Nokia Belle FP 2 (S60 5.5)".
The FP1 update is featured on the Nokia 808 PureView, but will make its way to the 603, 700 and 701, with the last two getting a CPU speed bump. It's not clear what we might expect from FP2 (it's not official), but Nokia seems to have done a lot of work on the browser.
The Belle FP1 update gives a big boost to the browser in terms of compatibility - it jumps from 157 (+ 7 bonus points) for vanilla Belle to 212 (+ 9 bonus points) for FP1 and higher still with FP2 - 242 (+ 9 bonus points).
For comparison, Android 2.3 scores 181+1, Android 4.0 does 256+3, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango scores very low at 141+5, while Mobile Safari on iOS 5 is king of the stock browsers with a score of 305+9.
The device running Belle FP2 is listed as Nokia 701, so there's a good chance that the devices that are getting FP1 will get FP2 as well.
Anyway, a post on Nokia Beta Labs caught our attention too - it marks the end of the beta period for Universal Search. It's a handy feature that looks through contacts, emails, maps and so on (similar but better than the old Search app found in older Symbians).
What's interesting about it is now that the beta is over, you'd expect to get the release version of the app - but it's nowhere to be found in the Nokia Store. It's quite a coincidence - the appearance of another Belle feature pack and the disappearance of Universal Search - so that's one feature that might be headed to FP2.
By the way, that HTML5 Test results page is very interesting and mentions a couple of big names - Windows Phone 8 and Tizen 1. That, of course, is flimsy proof of their existence, but still.

hi there! so, i need some information. many people are saying that after the belle update, some of the n8's functions stop working. some are saying that it doesn't charge off its usb port when it is connected to the computer, that teh camera qualitity decreases, that the memory also decreases from 16gb to 50-250mb. need some real information from a user that has already updated or so. thanks

To fix this blunder and keep N8 user, they should release every week one or two small small updates, like camera, music player, video player, video editor, voice dialling. One by one so that customer will think nokia is doing something. Now N8 user some of them trying to sell and some trying to install delight belle or anna. Nokia is releasing Feature Pack-2 to new models. See link is here on gsmarena news on the top. This pack is for nokia 808, 603, 700 and 701. N8 is nowhere mentioned. It is already late. Strategy adopted by nokia is negative approach. How much time will they take. Whatever is fixed issue the update. What for they are waiting. Then work for the next fix and deliver it when it is fixed. Nokia already lost so many client, the more the delay more will loose.

Hi Dr. Gaz,
You guys are advising to install Delight Belle 5.1. It is ok. But when I am trying to install Nokia Phoenix service software 2010.08.004.41526 as soni mentioned. First of all computer is giving warning, this software will damage your computer now or in future. There are two options, cancel or continue any way. I clicked continue. Now it is asking Nokia Service Tool Driver and Nokia connectivity cable driver. Which are already installed in my computer. Moreover, when I am clicking install both these drivers. Then after installing these. Dongle error comes. Please insert proper dongle or configure dongle driver. It has two options Retry and Finish. When I click Retry nothing happened, when I click finish, this message comes, InstallShield wizard completec, the wizard was interrupted before Phoenix Service Software could be completely installed. Your system has has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again. Click finish to exit the wizard.
Now I restarted my computer and tried 4 times. I have Windows XP SP2 32 bit and latest Nokia suite 3.3.89.
Soni had written about this phoenix in needed files. But, I think your phoenix is very old. Can you tell me which phoenix is compatible.

Just bought it couple days ago. It really is great. Nothing not to like about it. I have
- the apps I need:
--Opera Mobile is oustanding
--Social is better facebook client than facebook itself
--Free Offline Maps. Great for those with limited data transfer
--Reads PDF, doc, ppt, txt, anything I need
--Problems were with Podcatcher and AudioBook player but google it and you will get good enough free clients
- battery lasts for more than a day even this days I am using it all day long,
- camera is way better then friend's GS2 (which he bought for twice the money and with subscription - mine was 2 months old but it is as new)
- FM transmitter works as advertised, sound is better than it was on my old Android SG Spica, calling quality is notably better
Now to the negatives:
- UI is not as intuitive as Android 2.2 (I never used 2.3 or 3,4), but it is good enough, getting used to it.
- Transferring contacts from my old phone to this one was a pain in the butt. Finally i did it transferring them one by one over bluetooth
-some little details like the one that i cant change the song being played while I am running jut by holding the volumeUp button for couple of seconds
Hope this one helps you. BTW it IS updated to the last version of Symbian :)
