People, please. Cant we alljust get along and respect the opinion of others, even those we know talk pure ****** about the N8? Sure, say I admire every move Nokia makes. Just got a 701 for a family member and its pure satisfaction. Nokia is still a great phone maker. As far as Im concerned N8 is the best until 808 comes ou.

I have been using N8 since day one and i have been through all the Symbian updates. It is honestly really ironic that N8 today is much more appealing than it was 1,5 years ago, because Belle makes it a really "Swiss knife" type of phone. It is a really good phone and Belle's stability only adds to the overall experience. This is a phone that does pretty much everything pretty well. Of course it doesn't have dual or quad core CPU but lets be honest do you need that? One more important factor, i have not used any covers and the silver N8 still looks very good and has only some minor scratches on it. Therefore i would say that Nokia phones preserve their looks pretty well. Sincerely, at one time i was considering to go along the Android bandwagon, but now, i'm not so sure and im not in a hurry, since N8 is almost perfect.

Can N8 Users who are using 3 Mobile Network give me there experience on the call quality they are getting.
A friend usin N8 on Symbian Belle is getting tinny sound quality when speaking to me on call (I am using Sony Ericssson Xperia Play on Gingerbread).
If I ring a friend who uses htc wildfire With 3 i have no problems. If I put other than 3 sim in my phone and ring my friends N8 then no problem or if I ring 3 to his phone with orange no problem.
The N8 has gone in for repair with carphone warehouse.

Listen folks! Whatever OS you may prefer , Nokia N8 has d best overall specs u can define in anyone's xpectations. That's my view nd I'm not asking fr any opinions. That said, I declare it the best multispecs phone available. Now , why I havn't updated to BELLE inspite of fans cravering fr it ? I watched nd found d flaw of nokia music store free access problem. I love Nokia / the Symbian platform for its, simplicity of operation, its reliability , its free offers (select) of great applications. With one of my greatest incentives being the free navigation software, I just cannot imagine why Nokia could not apply a smooth transition into accessing users's limited access to unlimited nokia music as that is what I consider the 2nd most important USP of NOKIA Store as long as they offer them at 256kbps.
Thank U NOKIA for making yourself a part of my life but find an answer so I can update and be as always .... HAPPY with NOKIA !!!

Erratum. Apologies to the moderator, my comment was not in agreement to Netz but to anonymous who posted a detailed description of his problem with the symbian belle. here is a copy of my complaint to nokia. Please. No Name calling. Here it goes:
In addition to the previous issues i've brought up with you, the belle "upgrade" seems to bring more problems than make it an enhanced experience.
first, i noticed that upon pressing the "messaging" shortcut, it takes me to the messages themselves and couldn't find where the drafts folder is. When i called customer care, all i got from the support staff was a response that sounded as if my problem's reached the dead end. It took your supervisor Katrina, to help me out with the problem.
second, i tried reloading using a prepaid card but when i tried executing a "send service command", i couldn't find it. again, i called the customer service and again, i got the feeling from the staff that my problem's a dead end and that's it. I requested a call back from Katrina. Again, it was she who showed me how to do it.
This brings me to question how you're training your agents. Having come from an operations background (16 years worth), i know for a fact that the supervisor's only talk to customers when absolutely needed; not for the kind of issues i've raised.
Lastly, i'd like to say that a software upgrade is supposed to bring an enhanced experience, which to me, hasn't fulfilled its potential. Sure, it looks good and seems to have made the phone faster. But an upgrade means, improvement, nothing taken away. When i upgraded/updated the social network app, i was expecting a better performance. Whereas before, i could upload pictures on twitter, now i couldn't - so what i did was reinstall the software assuming it would revert to the old version of the app and it did. This brings to mind my experience with sonyericsson (15 years in total). The upgrades live up to the very meaning: improvement in performance. nothing taken away. I have said before that this will be my last nokia device. My recent issue with just further cemented that mindset.

I agree with netz! and their customer care people aren't of any help either.i asked why i can't reload (or top up) credits to my phone because i couldn't locate the "send service command" on the call menu, the agent at nokia careline couldn't answer. It took a supervisor to help me out. this is an opinion forum and anyone who has criticism for the brand has the right to express their grievances. no name calling.

AnonD-28873, 27 Feb 2012you noob, you dont deserve to have n8... Poor you, you dont... morenow you are becoming a real troll. Why all these applications I mentioned (and which they have been installed properly) were working on N8 with Anna? An upgrade should optimally be "transparent" for the user. But with Belle even if you do it properly you get problems. And what is this reply? If the software is not working is me that I am wrong? why it was working previously? I mean, man give me a break; OK you have any right to be a Nokia-fundamentalist but do not tell me that I do not know how to upgrade a phone or its applications. Believe my I know.

Lexyneke, 26 Feb 2012Hope to see you return to Nokia with apologies, when they r... moreI will return with apologies if and only if they will become again the company that it used to be 5 years ago. A company focusing on innovation and user satisfaction. A company that was leading the way on mobile technology and not a company in panic.
Stephen Elop said 2 years ago that Nokia was standing on a "burning platform". So he just decided that Symbian will be sacrificed (he had no guts to go out and say that I am going to make this platform the best one even if it is on fire right now). He show the "tsunami" of Android coming and he panicked; and instead of investing on innovation for software he left his company to be depended on another corporation (Windows). Tell me is this the Nokia we used to know? Nokia is abandoning Symbian and he choose to do this the worst way.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2012OK. I'll be specific on the comments about the Belle disast... moreyou noob, you dont deserve to have n8... Poor you, you dont even know how to update in a right way... AnonD-43825, 26 Feb 2012Be specific about your comments here. or else no one will b... moreOK. I'll be specific on the comments about the Belle disaster:
1. After upgrading my N8 to Belle, the Lotus Notes Traveler is not working properly. It disconnects from the server at least 10 times every day and it freezes the phone at least once per day. In addition my calendar entries are not synchronized properly.
2. Anytime I try to use skype is freezing and it needs reset.
3. Google maps not running AT ALL.
4. Whatsapp is also not working properly resulting in restarts
5. Every night I switch my mobile off. Next morning when I switch on it takes 3 minutes (literally) to restore all 4 home screens(even the ones that have no internet wizard on)
6. Nokia radio. It has lost functionality completely. stations that I used to listen flawlessly are unstable and the connection is going off every 10-15 minutes and takes 2-3 minutes to come back.
7. First screen of messaging menu: I do not like that it does not shows the folders but it shows by default the recent messages. They should have at least include a shortcut at the bottom line to go directly to the folders. Now I need to choose folders from the menu options every time.
8. Camera: I have a feeling (although I am not sure) that is is slower and results in lower quality photos.
9. Profiles menu: it is not available any more inthe status bar on top.
Are these enough or you are going to call me a troll again?
Important note: I've done a proper upgrade by using Nokia suite and I followed all instructions as requested.

[deleted post]No I am not a troll. You are a Nokia-fundamentalist. You just believe in Nokia like being a religious but it is just a brand. That's all. I am repeating: I use Nokia 15 years now! But after the disaster that it is called Belle and the stupid Nokia-Windows alliance it is the END! Nokia should invest in innovation in mobile technology both in hardware and software. Instead of this Nokia is investing on 41MP cameras for mobile phones. Give me a break! It is like the VW will invest on equipping a Golf with a Rolex! Nokia has just lost it completely!
