      hi ray,
      i hv update to belle,,everyting is going well.
      Now I tried to install google map, opera mobile,ucweb n got installed, but when I want to open the these applications its automatically closed after 2seconds, the icons are being show on screen...
      Plz tell me what should to do. Anyone more who have this type of problem facing?
      How to downgrade my phone to annn?
      Becoz I love to use google map over nokia map.
      Plz answer me. Thanx in advance

        Mr. Ray I need ur suggestion regarding "soft reset".
        Hope u will suggest me ...
        Yestrday I have successfully downloaded belle on my n8 its working very good....bt I m facing some prblms....like I do not have continious autofocus in video mode, no resizeable widgets as promised by nokia that there will b 5 diff sizes .
        :(

        most of the app I have installed earlier have vanished but the mass memory (occupied with apps) is still as it is b4 with app .

        I want to free up mass memory by doing a soft reset .

        and m afraid if I do the reset I may loose belle frm my phone....

        as I dont want to download it again n again ...

          wow the new belle software for n8 is GREAT. web browser is much better than before. But some function missing from radio. I'm from bangladesh

                  I updated my N8 via nokia suite and got only four screens instead of the six promised. after the phone had restarted, there was a warning not to do anything except keing in my pin number and to ignore and not touch the screen while it was updating. all this happened on the instaling stage. I waited for almost 45mins and when there was no change, decided to take the risk and since it was asking me to confirm language setting, I cancelled and I got the phone working. only problem is the 4 screens and when you try to change a thene, it never stops proccessing until you stop it thru task manager. what could be the problem pliz heeeelp

                    I just need your help.Day before yesterday i updated my mobile to Belle and it was good and working fine for almost 4 hours. Suddenly it got switched off and when i tried to turn it on it wasn't.I took it to the Nokia care and they look at my mobile thy said it is dead and they have to send it to Head office to repair it and it will take 7-8 working days to get things done.
                    The mobile was taken only 2 weeks back so do you know how long will it take to repair and will they change my motherboard or any other accessories if they are not able to repair will they replace my mobile with a new one .

                    My product code is 0599255

                    And also i noticed that in the Nokia website the following information as the software update for Nokia 0599255 has been removed to correct SW .. is this information true ?..Please let me know

All's good here on the Southern tip of South Africa. Hot as HADES with temperatures climbing as high as 46°C, but it's good! I saw you said something about snow on your side. I havent touched snow or felt it yet but I do get to see it during winter on the mountains surrounding my home town. But due to Global Warming we haven't really had winter in a few years now. Even the winter temps are in the higher 20's lately. How are things on your side?

                      Have you ever tried downloading torrents to your phone? I have but kept getting errors on files larger than 2gB. I guess this maybe because the phone tries saving to C: drive?

                            great upgrade, still retaining auto-focus in video mode, very happy with it.

                              Your issue isn't unique and as such Nokia have released the following solution.


                              If you are using Comes with Music or Music Unlimited in your phone, you might lose the licenses for your music after the update to Nokia Belle. However, you can retrieve your music licenses very easily: When you then start playing a specific song in your phone’s music player for the first time after the update, licenses of the whole corresponding album are automatically re-downloaded (internet connection needed). We recommend that you first open the music store application on your phone and log in using your account credentials. If your phone asks you for a confirmation during the retrieval, simply select 'Yes'. If you want to re-license all your music at once, you can do this via your computer by using Nokia Suite together with your music store.
                              Start Nokia Suite and select the Music icon in the taskbar
                              Copy your music from your phone to your PC by first selecting your phone’s Music Library, then selecting "All Artists" and finally opening the Tools menu and selecting "Copy to Computer"
                              Wait until all music files are transferred
                              After your music is transferred select again all music files in your phone, open the Edit menu and select "Delete"
                              Confirm the deletion by selecting “yes” and wait until all the music files on your phone are deleting (which takes approx. 1 minute per 100 songs)
                              Sign into the Comes with Music or Nokia Music Unlimited service (depending on what you have been using earlier to download songs)
                              Copy all your music files from your PC to your phone via Nokia Suite. Select your PC’s Music Library, and then select all music files you want to transfer to your phone and finally open the Tools menu and select "Copy to phone".

                                Hello amit.

                                You are not alone with this issue and Nokia have relesed a solution to the problem. Please read the following statement taken from the official Nokia support pages.


                                Q: After the update to Nokia Belle, my phone asks me to enter new security code. I do this and get an error message stating “code error”. What should I do?

                                A: Please try again a few times. There are very rare cases in which the phone incorrectly asks for new a security code but does not accept the entered code. In that situation the problem vanishes by entering any code until the phone stops asking for it. After this, the code you had entered before the update works again normally.

                                    Dear Friends

                                    I just installed Belle update for nokia N8 and now i can say its fantastic phone.I liked Belle a lot and it really changed the complete look n feel n functionality of phone i recommend this phone to my friends now i was using android since one year . now i like the belle update a lot. just the only problem is my ovi music license is expired i can not play any song from 100's of downloaded songs from nokia ovi music.can anyone help how can i rectify this problem

                                        Hi to all especially Ray who's trying to help all the people in this forum. I have been using N8 since nov 2010 with all official updates. i came along with various problems during this period but i couldn't give up my N8 as i was not confident that changing it would have brought me in a better position. after the belle update the phone feels very fresh and highly responsive.The touch responce of the screen is very very good and the apps load much faster.also i ve noticed that the browser and email are much faster.what happent though after the update and restoring of backup(all by nokia suite)i lost everything i had on the phone before apart from pictures,contacts and notes.wifi keys,bluetooth pairings,msgs,email accounts,profiles,settings,apps,call history all gone.
                                        searching in e and f memory i managed to restore some of the lost apps. anyway i hope and wish to all a good update when available and consider my experiance so not to loose valuable staff. Once more thanks to Ray
