My Nokia N8 used to open several video format such as: flv,avi,mp4,mkv,Divx,wmv,xviD & HD.
I like my N8.

The main issues when trying to play MKV videos are whether it is encoded correctly by making sure that CABAC reference frames are set to less than four or turned off, then it will play fine.
I've also had success playing WMV but you have to make sure that DRM isn't causing the video to fail. You can check this by transferring the WMV to the phone by using Windows Media Player's Sync option and the video will also play just fine.

N8, 05 Feb 2012 i have n8 but i dont know which r the video formats suppor... morethe N8 plays most movie formats only mkv & wmv are the only two formats i haven't been able to open
