Dear All,
First of thank you all tech's for helping us out.I bought N8 yesterdy,and i installed talkonaut(3rd party software for gtalk).When i try to make video call thru the same,the other party can see me but i cannot see them(they are using e72).i can hear voice.only i cant see them.Is it becoz Anna??

I have a problem with my N8 it chows airtime like nobody's business even whn the phone is just lying there like during the night.wht can i do to switch off the internet services whn im not using it.FRASTRATED

Sorry folks,but i really dont know why u guys are complaing soo much about nokia n8...cz me and my 4 frnds bought it 1year ago in kuwait and still now there's not evn a single problem...and we just love it....i guess u guys use china model :P our is made in finland :) and pls learn to be happy with what eva u have....

i am so disappointed about n8,i bought it since 1y from nokia in AL-AIN UAE and after 1y and 2month(after the guarantee finished),i had a serious non fixable problem in the board.suddenly,not accepting the SIM card .as long as there is SIM card,it,s not working .i went to nokia in EGYPT (where i am now) ,they told me it,s non fixable and if still the guarantee is available,u can exchange with another one.but unfortunately, it, s finished ,i have now dead phone and i lost 2100 DHS

phuck nokia. I bought this phone when it first came out. had to to take to their repair place 3 times in the course of a year because it was acting up. On the 3rd time they decided to give me a replacement. Brand new. 3 month later, that brand new phone can no longer detect a cell phone tower, from any carrier. TMOBILE ATT, nothing. Faulty phone. Nokia can no longer help me because it's out of warranty. The thrid party repair facility that they reccommeded can't fix the problem either. Nokia has only said too bad for me.
Is this sh!t legal?

joevy, 19 Jan 2012my n8 has not been updated since i bought it, i want to kno... morelol. No worries it 'll update anywhere. Just download the Nokia Pc suite (beta version even) connect your phone and it'll automatically let you know of any available updates. Kindly note that not all versions of the phone have the update available. Once you select the suite would via the internet download the update which in 2 parts and approx 85mbs. It usually take some time to install so be patient. Hope it all goes well. If you need any help let me know or seek out my teacher @Ray.

With symbian ^3 its not play via radio its FM transmitter. Search for that instead only if you haven't already upgraded to Anna where its play via radio.

I think u should flash it with phoenix software . by this act u will have the new updating(like belle...) and fixed your problem ;)

To everibody, don't install antivirus programs, you don't need them. Especially they can cause problems with n8, phone want switch on, or reboot itself. After that you need to perform hard reset and everything and every app install again. I had problems when I installed antivirus, phone sometimes didn't switch on. After fifth hardreset I didn't install any antivirus and my N8 is now very healthy and works without any problem.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, Belle is still scheduled for roll out in February and not next week. A mistake was posted on Twitter that said it would roll out next week and Nokia have officially announced it was posted in error.
Not to worry though as February is only a couple of weeks away anyway.

Don't worry about your product code not appearing on the servers. The product code probably refers to a swap device which means the motherboard of the phone has been changed at some point. Have you had to have your phone repaired at some point? If so then it is genuine.
There are other ways to check if your phone is a genuine N8. Firstly, the look and feel of the phone. A real N8 is made from Aluminium (or Aluminum to satisfy the US spell checker) and if you run your finger over the Nokia Nseries label on the back, it will feel raised and a little rough. Second thing to test is to connect the phone to Nokia suite. If Nokia suite recognises the phone as an N8, then it is a genuine N8.
