sagar dev chamlagai, 20 Dec 2011Dear GSM Arena..... my N8, Symbian Anna is not supporting N... moreDear apply a hard reset to your mobile and this problem will be solved ..beside you will loss your ovi store and maps which is built it but don't worry they will lbe back bby software update..SW update option in your mobile ..or directly connect it through ovi suite..well apply hard reset. switch off your mobile and then press and hold menu key , camera key . volume down key and power on off key..hope this will work to you as it did with mine N8.. beside you will loss all your data

Hey guyz! What do you mean by high sar level? What is the meaning of "SAR"? and what happends when the phone has high sar level? Please reply guyz.i realy need to know because i am having my n8 soon,so please answer my questions.

It is a good News that Belle is officially scheduled to arrive in February. However does anyone know if all the countries will get it officially? Including the USA?

AnonD-5400, 20 Dec 2011That might do. but as far as possible i want to keep my n8 ... morei'm sorry but those modifications on belle are not cheap. well, maybe the swirly effect does. apart from that, those modders had done a great job in optimizing the user experience where original firmware is lacking. if u dont like the effect, u can always change it to the one u like or the original effect. i can understand u just want the feeling of originality but care less about best user experience.

You don't have to worry much about not knowing much about the latest updates on smartphones like N8.Gsmarena does have a few regular visitors who are more than knowledgeable about such things and they give detailed information to the general public like us,as such.
Purple tint issue-This is a problem plaguing almost the entire lot of N8's coming into the market from Jan 2011.I got my N8 in November last year and it had a very good screen.However,I had to get it replaced in May 2011 as it went completely dead due to some motherboard problem.The new N8 had the wretched purple tint problem. :(
It is a manufacturing defect and not a software related issue as such.The AMOLED screens provided by Samsung are calibrated wrongly in the ROM(Read Only Memory,hence can't be re-written)itself and hence can't be rectified completely.The Anna and Belle updates are trying to adjust the screen brightness etc to cover up the purple tint,but it is not gone completely.Belle has,infact, reduced the purple tint to a great extent.
Whether you need Anna to go to Belle upgrade,i really don't know.You could ask someone having detailed expertise in this,like Ray.

I bought my Nokia N8 series only last month, but the problem that i have is that every time i am taking a picture, it hangs. Right now, it has hanged for about one hour now and it is not yet coming out of the comma. How can revive it?
