Anonymous, 06 Aug 2014why is my phone switching off eevery 10 seconds,it has a ne... moreIt must be happening because of installation of an app. Which was the latest app u downloaded after which this started happening ? The same happened to me when i installed f-secure & other time when i installed kaspersky antivirus. Frankly, N8 doesnt need any anti virus, so if u have installed any anti virus apps, then uninstall them. & if u cant delete such app directly from the phone, then connect it with the pc & delete the culprit apps. Hope this would resolve your issue.

hi Brother, i really felt good reading that u started using this phone just now, even after 4 years of Its launch. But according to me, its still the best. & about ur issues of screen getting black, i think you may have placed a matt screen protector on the screen & even covering the proximity sensor. Matt cover generally covers the sensor on proximity & stops the illumination of screen while the incoming or outgoing call. So, for this, use a glossy screen protector or cut the appropriate portion of matt guard. Hope this has helped you.

I really thought that I will get some help on this site. I made a mistake. The people on this site clearly have to much time on their hands.
Thanks for nothing

It's the best Symbian smartphone ever, I mean ever, however, in my opinion, Nokia N8 sports a cooler design than the Nokia 808 but the last Symbian king is a beast. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Carol, 29 Jul 2014Doing factory reset or hard reset will not keep it hacked. ... moreThanks for the extra knowledge. I am having a great time with my Nokia N8 that I sold my Android phones. Haha. I'm going to buy myself another legendary phone, the Nokia N95 (160 MB internal memory) as soon as next week. I found out that "delete data and restore'' option is the hard reset option. Like you said, reinstalling firmware using Nokia Suite just re-writes registry files, so I think flashing the N8 with a suitable version of Phoenix will make it like new condition software wise. Have you ever flashed your Nokia N8 with Belle Refresh firmware via Phoenix?

What happened to md8 is that reinstalling the same software without flashing. Did pretty much nothing but rewriting some registry files. I suppose he had also all apps after that. Factory reset is another story and 100% will not be hacked after doing one.

MdN8, 28 Jul 2014If you uninstall RomPatcher the phone is no longer hacked. ... moreThanks MdN8. I almost made up my mind to remove ROM Patcher but you saved me.
If that means your apps will be installed even after performing a factory reset then that is another nice feature for me! Nokia or should I say Microsoft, is totally intent on ceasing support for Symbian because they want you to buy a Lumia. We have already seen native flickr sharing broken, Nokia Internet Radio service being discountinued, Nokia weather discountinued for Symbian, and perhaps the Nokia Maps service is going down after 2016 for Symbian. Does Nokia Suite still work, like reinstalling firmware using it? Which one is the hard reset option out of the two options in settings- phone - phone management - factory settings?
