jacqui, 24 May 2014i bought the phone in the inited kingdom am in south Africa... moreIf the phone is locked to some operator's network, you have to find someone who unlocks phones. It will cost you a little because unlock codes have to be bought and it's not completely legal.

Best camera quality lens. Could'nt find any better with the awesome flash which cannot be compared with today's high end phones. Great camera and FLASH. Beats almost all the phones when compared with the pictures taken in the night or dark with flash.

Give N8 a break and get best available phone which supports high storage in primary and secondary memory

Still bests any 2014 android phone in *battery life (2-3 days here average use) , *Camera performance(absolute master in color, good sharpness, natural image) *build quality (monocoque alu design) *navigation Nokia maps still updated.
Also easyness of calling, messaging, email, n whatsapp integration to, is still better then android.
The glass of mine has virtually no scratches, its very hard to point any out. And i dont use a cover!. phone goes into pocket and bags! NOw for 3 years !!
I dropped it many times, on hard floors also, on pavement etc. > no issues.
Its awesome to connect it over the hdmi connector to A Full hd tv or home cinema set with dolby. you wont believe how fast n easy that is.
Tons of usefull apps here. Dont need any other . I have a NExus 7 tablet. its out of work...
When you want to browse the web on a phone , then a recent android phone will do that better.
For now i wait another 3 years before i am forced to get a cool android flag ship. (dont like the attitude/company spirit of apple n windows)
I just am afraid i will destroy that phone , because of my behaviour is programmed for N8 use, read ROUGH USE. SO probably ill crack the new phone soon... hr

Phone starts accumulating junk files when internet is accessed. To overcome this issue, u should first hack ur phone by Nortan & then install mobile cleaner app, available in n8Fanclub. It Will help keep your phone memory as free as possible, reducing the risk of lagging or hanging problems. hii, i used this phne abt three years, nw i have a prblm that the phone memmory gettng reduced and reduced without install any apps, while i using internet... After some days its shows memmory too low to open messages,web or anythng in it. I formatted it fully two times bt still that problem occurs.. Wht shud do for this,no any prblms except this..

maruf, 16 May 2014how can I flash light on, when I take video recording?Not possible, N8 doesn't have a LED flash. Only Xenon and Xenon needs to be charged before it flashes again, and flashes last 1/1000 of a second, so it can't be "on" all the time.

Instead, use opera mini or messengers available in Nokia store (for fb & twitter) for updating, chatting & everything else. Social app is too outdated & its not too efficient to be used.

Amazing phone, been using for 3 years plus, still no problems. Amazing camera, I'm a photographer and in fact one of the shots I took with nokia n8 is in my commercial portfolio.

I hope you can simply download and install it. The description says:
"Improve SMS sending reliability with multiple recipients. To get this update just fire up the Software Update application on your Symbian^3 smartphone. Please restart your device after the update installation. Do let us know if you find anything new in this update. Note: The availability of software updates are region specific, if you don’t have it already it should be available soon."
So, I'm not completely sure it will fix your problem, but you might try anyway. Judging by the last part, maybe it wasn't available for your region so I suppose installing it won't hurt. Good luck!

Any idea where I can get it at this time? This is the first problem I encountered with my N8, I've been using this for more than 3 years. Thank you for replying sir.

Hi all, just like to ask if there's anyone here having problems of not seeing the messages received and messages sent in the conversations view. I can't find anything in the settings menu that can help. What happens is that when I recieved a message there's a number and the date but no message, same goes when I send a text. Hope you can help me here, thanks guys.
