maruf, 16 May 2014how can I flash light on, when I take video recording?Not possible, N8 doesn't have a LED flash. Only Xenon and Xenon needs to be charged before it flashes again, and flashes last 1/1000 of a second, so it can't be "on" all the time.

Instead, use opera mini or messengers available in Nokia store (for fb & twitter) for updating, chatting & everything else. Social app is too outdated & its not too efficient to be used.

Amazing phone, been using for 3 years plus, still no problems. Amazing camera, I'm a photographer and in fact one of the shots I took with nokia n8 is in my commercial portfolio.

I hope you can simply download and install it. The description says:
"Improve SMS sending reliability with multiple recipients. To get this update just fire up the Software Update application on your Symbian^3 smartphone. Please restart your device after the update installation. Do let us know if you find anything new in this update. Note: The availability of software updates are region specific, if you don’t have it already it should be available soon."
So, I'm not completely sure it will fix your problem, but you might try anyway. Judging by the last part, maybe it wasn't available for your region so I suppose installing it won't hurt. Good luck!

MdN8, 12 May 2014There was a 'fix for messaging' software update for Belle R... moreHi MdN8, about that update, I think I wasn't able to get it but I tried checking for software updates and it said my phone is already fully up to date. Any idea where I can get it at this time? This is the first problem I encountered with my N8, I've been using this for more than 3 years. Thank you for replying sir.

Hi all, just like to ask if there's anyone here having problems of not seeing the messages received and messages sent in the conversations view. I can't find anything in the settings menu that can help. What happens is that when I recieved a message there's a number and the date but no message, same goes when I send a text. Hope you can help me here, thanks guys.

This phone i bought on july 2011 and still working properly without any problem and also i using Nokia N95 8GB tht i bought on August 2008 and still working it properly . so this both N series are the best phone ever and never want to sell it .

Belle Refresh and N8 are like match made in heaven. Both goes well together. We get the live widgets,pull-down notification tray,always-ON led clock,better system resource management etc. Beats the Windows Phone OS and iOS and almost on par with Android. There are apps like cutephone which adds customizable swipe gestures to symbian belle like the current gen mobile operating systems. One should also use apps like 'Periodic' which is a mobile tracker and security app for symbian. Other 'must-have' apps to get the most out of this device includes moodagent,swype keyboard,touchremote,dukto,batterymonitor,advancesms,facelock,smartoffice,healthbook etc.

Besides Android is not resource-optimized like Symbian, so u will end up with a laggy under-featured device if N8 runs android. On Symbian its a monster with state-of-the-art features like otg,fm transmitter,xenon flash,dlna,dual tv out,offline maps etc. Symbian also allows lots of customizations to your device using 3rd party apps like spb shell. You can make it look like lumia phone,ios or android. However if u want Nokia and android, u can get a Nokia N9 and install android alongwith default Meego OS. Nokia X is only an entry level phone so not worth going for it just for android...
