is n8 slower ... more RAM stands for Random Access Memory
ROM stands for Read Only Memory.
So, having more RAM is desirable for speeding up the phone,
As eddman stated, having more or less ROM makes no difference to the phones performance. RAM is the thing to look out for when choosing a phone. That being said, Symbian^3 doesn't require a great deal of RAM in order to function correctly, 256MB is ample.
Android phones on the other hand do need more RAM to function, so you will notice they do have more RAM on the phones. The Galaxy S has 512MB of RAM, the Desire has 576MB of RAM and the new Galaxy S II has a huge 1GB of RAM.

is n8 slower ... moreYou're mistaking RAM with ROM. ROM has nothing to do with speed. It's for storing files. Well of course if you fill it up completely the phone will slow down and you'll encounter problems, but why would anyone do that?
Who cares if it has less ROM than C7 anyways. Both phones have big internal storages, 8GB for C7 and 16GB for N8.

Hi, I just purchased the Nokia N8 on a plan . I received the mobile buy post opened the box and charged it over night the next morning the mobile went flat.Im sending it back and Im not happy.

I... moreHello there! i've got the same problem before when i bought my new nokia N8. viewing photos is totally black and videos. try to reformat your phone go to settings open Phone then Phone management then factory settings. you can see restore or delete data and restore you choice it. but what i did is delete data and restore. it takes for couples of munute to finish the process and everythings fine now.
