AnonD-793, 13 May 2011Wooh man,
i just solve it by eddman helps...but im reall... moreIt's possible to update the firmware through ovi suite too, and Nokia Software Updater. Also you can do it through the phone itself. These are the only official methods.
No need for any other complicated way, unless you know what you're doing which in this case you can use the navifirm and phoenix method. This way you can install whatever firmware you like; uk, france, spain, vodafone, orange, etc.

Terrific hardware which is, sadly, utterly crippled by poor software on both the handset and connecting PC to the handset. Nokia's poor track record of releasing critical updates, combined with its stated plans to migrate to Windows Phone, probably doom the N8. In the end, it's really quite a good point-and-shoot camera, that also makes phone calls. As a smart phone, however, it falls far short of the mark.
Starting with PC connectivity, N8 users will find the current versions of Nokia PC Suite actually refuse to connect to the N8. Nokia forces N8 users to use the buggy and feature-sparse Nokia Ovi Suite to connect the N8 to PCs. A casual glance at forums dedicated to Ovi Suite will quickly unearth a trove of complaints. Ovi Suite not only messes up data on the handset, it often makes undesired and erroneous changes to data on the PC. Users beware: back up your appointment, task, contacts and other data before you use Ovi Suite to sync with your N8.
Productivity apps on the N8 are very poorly designed. Nokia appears to be aiming the N8 at users who are living on their parent's trust fund and not those who are seeking a phone which will help them to balance work and home lives. Briefly, there's no agenda view for the calendar, no way to exclude tasks from appointment views, and no way to assign categories to tasks and appointments and then to filter or sort views using those categories. The email application is from the mid-90's with no common inbox and no way to create multiple email account profiles. There's no app to read commercial ebook formats, such as the Kindle, Nook, or eReader. Opera Mobile is a must-download, as the Nokia browser is badly in need of an update (again, an update has long been rumored).
PDF readers and apps that read and edit Word document, Excel format files, etc., are tricky to use. They simply don't play well, with the N8's touch screen. See my comments below, regarding the keyboard.
They keyboards are among the worst of any smart phone. There's no split-screen (promised in some mythical future update, though) and it takes many, many more taps and swipes than are acceptable to perform common steps. Swype, which is only available in the landscape keyboard, barely improves the situation. Writing on the N8, either in portrait or landscape mode, is an enormous pain. Buy a Bluetooth keyboard, if you are going to use the N8 for writing anything more than text messages.
Recently Qt apps have begun to appear. However, Nokia has saddled those with its so-called "smart installer." Many N8 owners have found their phones can no longer access the Ovi Store. At the same time, those Qt apps are starting to fail to install. It's not uncommon to begin a Qt app install and then be obliged to cancel it, after 10-20 minutes or more ("Preparing installation"). The phone crashes 100% of the time, after this.
Nokia phones used to be very frugal with data plans. Not the N8. It often accesses data, without requesting user permission. During application installation and normal use, this happens. Why Nokia would choose to do this, as fewer and fewer unlimited data plans are available (and with rising cost of the remaining data plans) is beyond me.
Call quality is great. Battery life is also very good.
The camera is, without question, first rate. Probably the best camera presently available, in a phone. I encourage you to look at this as only a camera which makes phone calls. If you are looking for more than a great point-and-shoot camera that makes phone calls, I encourage you to read reviews and discount the raving about the camera. If the reviewer actually lived with this phone, you will find it's not a very good smart phone, at all.
The N8 could have been a great phone. Unfortunately, the user experience feels like nobody at Nokia actually used its software, before they sent it to market. N8 users - and I am one of them - have every reason to feel they are being treated like suckers, by Nokia. Again, get this if you want a great camera phone. Pass it by, if you want to do anything else with your smart phone.

celladik, 12 May 2011why is that, when i used the built in email applicati0n on ... moreThats most probably because its online all the time. If the icon on the top bar displays the internet icon all the time, that would mean that the email client is still active. You can change this in the settings to sync less frequintly at longer intervals or just change it to manual so that you can do it yourself when you open the email client up.
