AnonD-808, 02 May 2011yes i know i used to sign apps just wanted to give a try to... moreNah !! I don't think they can detect since even till these days we still have some defective unit, because I've been hacking once, and what I get is 2 replacements thanks to my warranty. First time I tried it was horrible, I mess up everything and don't even know what to do next, basically same thing happen like you've incounter now, second ~ over confident and panic = DEAD and it goes back there to nokia care. Third was the second replacement unit it died while hacking toO but I was lucky to make it alive again. Final happy ! !, Fully hacked N8 as at pr 1.2 FW 14.2 when sending back to nokia care, please don't keep sending it back more than 3 times, they will be curious and knew that your trying to hacked your phone and void pop* there you go your warranty is hopeless. advice in advance and maybe you have the wrong version of software, that's why you had problems while hacking. best option would be going to opda get your certificate there, It's safe and you could have 97% of apps in your n8 while signing. Cheers

IMO hacking is a bad idea. I understand that you did it to install unsigned apps, but there is a better way to do that which does not require hacking.
Go to this website and register for free:
http://cer.opda.cn/en/
After that, you can create a certificate and a key for your phone. With these cer and key you can sign apps and install them with no problem.

aj2010, 02 May 2011ok, which one have u got then?I don't have an N8, but what it has to do with anything.
Did you look at that link I gave you? It clearly shows that nokia has a production plant in china, and as far as I know they make N8s there too.
I also said that there ARE fake N8s made in china, but they have nothing to do with nokia and are made buy 5-6 people in a garage or something.
here, look for yourself:

Nokia makes phones in these countries:
Brazil
China
Finland
Great Britain
Hungary
India
Mexico
Romania
South Korea

There are real N8s made in china, BUT there are also fake N8s as well. Those links that I provided before are fake N8s.
P.S. on a side note, no one is allowed to make fake copies. They are doing it illegally.
