last 3 months i've had 3 N8, and guess what? all 3 were perfectly perfect!!
why dont u go and play with toys, what would suit u!

[deleted post]I know how depressing it is when something that you've paid for is defective and the service people are unable to fix it.
I don't know how bad your phone's tint is, but AMOLEDs in general have a slight color tint to them. It's just like LCD's no-true-black problem. LCDs can't show true blacks and there is no way to fix that.
My brother's C7 also has a very slight tint but it isn't really noticeable.
There might be some perfectly calibrated AMOLED displays with no tint at all, but they are hard to find.
It seems that your phone's tint problem is a serious one and nokia care hasn't been able to fix it.
To be honest, there are people, even here on gsmarena, who are reporting that their phones have been fixed.
I hope you can get your phone fixed too, soon.

Does N8 have skype video calling.... moreHey utkarsh!..i suggest u go for the n8..considering the fact that the only difference b/w them is the QWERTY keyboard in the e7 and the 8mp fixed focus vs the 12mp auto focus camera in the n8..n considering the 7k price difference n8 seems the better bet...but of course if u r into heavy messaging n editing docs ..the e7 is a fantastic device too..it has a 4 inch CBD screen compared to 3.5 inch screen of the n8..but lacks a memory card slot restricting the memory to 16 gigs which is sufficient in most cases..
Unfortunately neither e7 nor n8 have skype video calling yet ..jus the audio calling feature is available..however there are various other apps which let u video call over wifi such as TING..

before buying check if thier is the fm transmitter and the display problem does not exist on the device. Your Welcome

frnds does any one have facing problem in video calling? when i make a video call i cant hear the sound in my ear phone. its just turned on the loud speaker.

Hello Guyz!!!
Yesterday, I bought my very own N8, it is superb!!!, I just finished installing some themes and applications, but I noticed that my unit is also affected with purple screen, but it is not a problem, it can't be noticeable as it blends with the theme's colors.
By the way, may be by next month, I will return to the store and will look for the better one, but mine is just fine. Lets see for how many days, because for now I can't get my hands off to this superb n8, I'm glad I got a high speed internet plan, slow browsing is not a problem with my N8, this thing is fast. Very excited for the Symbian Ana
P.S. anyone here knows how to check the manufacturing date or something like production batch? Thnks

He was going to get an N8 and we can't find a perfect one. We'll try again over the weekend on another store and I can't convince him to go Android.
Anyhow, goodluck getting it fixed.

Ain't got one yet but is it true that there's that clicking sound/noise when "recording videos"?
...i have watched samples of n8's video rec. tests on youtube and it always has that noise especially when the lens "auto" focuses on the subject(like when recording in close ranges with the subj.)
Also,is there a difference in autofocus and continuous autofocus when it comes to recording videos???

People dont even know that they r using defective n8 ! U can wait till the next batch or for x7 ! I think E7 is nt ve this defect ! I am using defective n8 (purple red screen) and i ve planned to submit it to nokia care in july-august and i hope there ll be defect free screen available by that time !
