I've been using this phone for two months, and for me it's perfect! Always had Nokia's Phones and symbian^3 it's a pretty good OS for users like me, you like to game, browse, take so pictures and record some videos! Everything runs sweet, and with the upcoming update it will be even better!
It's so good to have "USB on the go" and seeing movies with SRT. subtitles and connect directly in your LCD with the HDMI out! Those little things that make diference! And ofcourse, if you like photos and HD video, N8 it's the best outhere!
I'm really satisfied!

I'll be buying either nokia C7 or N8 next week. C7 is 50,000 - 55,000 in Nigeria while N8 is 75,000 - 80,000. Is it worth paying an extra #30,000 for N8 or shld i stick with my dream C7?

I've been using the N8 from January with only one problem. It shows a black screen when exiting the menu for maybe 5 sec. I got an alert for a new software please advice if i should update or not and if it will solve my problem. Thanks for your time guys.

For those who intend to buy the N8, make sure that you are not fond of placing down the phone on car seats, sofa ( esp. leather )or on top of table with mat because you will have difficulty in hearing the ringtone when somebody calls you. The reason behind is the location of the speaker hole at the back tends to be blocked when the bottom portion is in contact.Actually, i am already getting used in getting missed calls. It will be unusual to turn the phone around placing the touch screen first. Nevertheless, just want the readers to observe this detail first before buying the N8 but if you're cool with that concern then the N8 is a good phone to have!

I've been using mine for 4 months already and it works fine except one important event ( my daughter's dance number in school) where i need to use the video recording and wella !!!!... it hanged!!! It kept on indicating an error. So i restarted the phone immediately and by the time it was ready, the dance was already over.....Anyway, aside from that, everything is ok!!!!

Does that sound right to you guys? We, the customers, have to keep bugging Nokia until we get lucky with a unit with a perfect screen. It would have been a lot better if we can just walk into a NCC, show them our defective N8, get an apology from the staff and walk away with a defect free unit. This is not the case and what's happening is that depending on who you talk to, you'll get diferent answers. Some will argue it's a feature of AMOLED screens, others will say they have no clue, and a few will offer you to replace the screen and still have the defect after it gets replaced. It's like Nokia is making us go in circles and the majority of N8 users don't even have a clue about the purple screen defect.
This is unacceptable. We had this problem since January and Nokia is aware of it and admitted the defect but there is still no solution in sight and this defect is worldwide! People are now mad at the official forums. Check it out.

Since Will Announced N8 April 2010 up to final releas... more@ rdca hey my friend as you told that its driver chip problem ...then there is no way to solve this problem unless nokia changes full amoled screen with its original driver chip..changing only screen is not full solution...and i guess the amoled screen is fine in all models only the driver chip which had created the problem which is not compatible with the screen they r using...and no symbian anna or any updates can solve this problem ....don't know when or what solution will nokia take out to solve this problem..but one thing is clear if nokia now buys original driver chip from samsung to fix this issue then definitely samsung will bear a huge loss and if they want to satisfy the customers they have to bear loss.....
