AnonD-6614, 24 Apr 2011will you stop pointing pple to other pples posts in differe... moreSpare them some flack? We've been banging at Nokia's door since January and it's been almost 5 months now! That's plenty of time for them to make adjustments. Look buddy, what you're trying to do here is defending Nokia's inability to solve the issue. If there are clear cut solutions to this problem then it would have been known on the net in no time. So far, Nokia keeps telling us to take our defective N8s to NCCs but even the NCCs don't have the defect free screens. This wouldn't have been an issue if this defect is being addressed properly but it's not! Nokia is making us go around in circles.

i think nokia is the best product and always create a pretty good model for all. Nokia N8 is a great handset for them who need a bright and good photo capture in HD... Stop talking a bad thing about this model. Cause i think all of the product had their own weakness... Keep Moving Nokia....

AnonD-1082, 24 Apr 2011You see that guy who made that thread? That's buxz777. He s... moreYes, I've read that thread and know about him. The thing is that some people are trying to make us believe that ALL of these units are defective, which isn't the case.

NCCs might change the display and put yet another problematic display in its place. If they do, then you must put them under pressure until they fix it. Sue them if you have to. You've paid for the phone and they must give you proper service.

There are people who returned they devices and received a fixed unit.

If I decide to by an N8, I'd check it in the shop, and even examine it with that testing picture.

[deleted post]you are getting emotional, nobody has denied anyu of your claims, when you admit that yours has been replaced, dont you think you admit that nokia is doing something? the replaced set still is on waranty, am just sorry for you you have to take it back, when you are getting the replacement if at all you have one, why dont you conduct the screen test and if you find the same problem ask for another one untill you get the right thing, dont yopu think you have a ryt to the product you have paid for? all am saying is be practical, and stop calling people fanboys, bringing apple up was just to show you how others are being treated and the fact that Nokia admits responsibility is a plus for them to anyone doing business with them, period

To add more insult, there are now dust particles underneath the screen of his N8.

Admitting the defect is one thing but the more important thing is getting the affected units fixed which Nokia fails to do until now.

[deleted post]nobody has denied there are sets that are defective, the fact that Nokia admits is a huge statement of responsibility, then again Nokia is ready to address the problem, remeber Iphone statement about the signal bars, "it the way you hold the set" was that responsible, or Samsung producing the wave 1 and because it was expensive to produce the super amoled screens silently benching it n even denying it some firmware upgrades? please lets be practical and stop trolling when we cannot lay our hands on a set. am a proud owner of the N8, Samsung Wave S8500, Nokia N95 8gb and the 5800xm, I aint bashing any, am I

He sent his N8 and got his screen replaced with a defective screen. There are perfect N8s out there but they are hard to find. You are downplaying an issue in which Nokia themselves adilmitted and has yet to provide a proper solution to the problem.

You guys think I'm trolling for trying to get the public aware of the defect? I'm just trying to get the people aware so they won't fall for a defective N8. What do you guys think you are doing then? Trying to cover up the defect eh?

[deleted post]stop being a troll, I got the set about a week ago, 10 days to be precise, I did the screen test and no problem, do you have the set? I am no fanboy, I have the 5800 xm and it had issues, I took it to NCC it was sorted, the problem cropped up agin and I was issued a new set. thats practical, at least as you claim, the sets are being sorted, and apparently the problem will be sorted out for good for those who got the defective units, by trolling do you think you are going to stop me from enjoying my set? if you do not have an N8, go get yourself one then now you can be positive, many here are bashing the N8 yet they do not own it, envy I should say, grow up please. if it is an awareness campaign, its not working cause N8 still leads

See, there are N8s without that problem. Now stop trolling.

YES, you might buy an N8, and it might be defective, BUT it does not mean all of them are. Return your defective unit immediately, and push on until they give you a proper unit or fix your problem.

The screens they are using to replace a defective screen also have the defect and that brings you nowhere.

It may appear like only a small percentage of units are affected as the majority of N8 owners are unaware of the defect.

Stop downplaying the defect and there are no official percentage stats on how much defective N8s are out there in the wild.

Yes, the purple tint issue is real, but it only affected a small percentage of N8s. Hell, even iphone 3GS had a 7% return rate (defective units).

                                      Really Bad from Nokia,
This is my 3rd time to give Nokia care by N8 and still have the purple tint in the screen, it's less appearing but it's exist!

                                      Very bad Nokia after sales!
i think it'll be my last Nokia device! after like 10 Nokia device along with my life and only one Samsung device.

i'll never accept to receive my N8 again with this defective screen, also i'm thinking now to call the police for this issue!
