I bought it a while ago, luckily there's no issue redish or something on the screen of N8, the version is 1.0 pr but I also upgraded pr1.1 on nokia care, Its free so Its ok .. hehe so far i have not yet encounter any prob .. the camera is superb! love it compare to my apple 3g before ..

I installed many free useful application and games.
The resources are wonderful (12Mpx Cam, HDMI, FM transmitter, 16 Gb + 32 Gb of storage, etc, etc, etc)
The Nokia Big Screen is fantastic.
The best phone in my opinion.

Pre-historic, 13 Mar 2011If you're after the Megapixels, you should have bought a de... moreah but there's a catch, the n8 comes with a seriously huge sensor (larger than some compacts as the matter of fact).
pics and vids taken by the n8 are superb, no argument in that. if you say that it isnt up to mark as the what they said in the specs, your dead wrong cause your messing with the strongest point of the n8

I think nokia couldnt fix this reddsh purple, if the problem is hardware the only solusyon is replacement. And nokia need suffer more money on this case.. I doubt it nokia cannot replcement because mostly n8 had this problem like me. Im just praying will fix this for coming firmware update pr2.0

I think nokia should work on the screen
because if there will be no key board like n97,
then there should be a 4.2 inch touch screen

You can't expect Nokia to check all the... morei guess gsmarena didnt approve of my previous comment, so lame...anyway, the point that im trying to make is that every manufacturers sometimes ship defective product. an example would be an LCD screen with dead pixels, you cant deny that this happens....
same with nokia n8, there are units that have screen issues....so dont go bashing just because u got a defective unit. maybe ur shipment wasnt handled properly causing a serious problem with the screen

N8 gorilla glass screen is a joke. Mine already has tiny hairline scratches and I'm very careful with it.
