I've had this from November 2010. And its the best N-Series Nokia phone I have have to date. I've had N73, N82, N95, N86, N97. Honestly, had to get used keyboard, got about 5 reboots. But all mobile devices have their disadvantages. So You can't blame Nokia. In a few days N8 will be second most viewed on GSMArena. Most amazing mobile phone period.......#thankuNokia

I am Venkatesh.R from Coimbatore, Tamil nadu, INDIA. I recently bought this incredible device from Nokia on March 7,2011. I definitely feel that I am one among those who have very carefully gone through every aspect of this phone whether technical, hardware or OS. Now that I got the phone, here is my review.
I bought this phone for 22,150 INR. Nokia N8 is worth every penny you pay for it. This is Nokia's best ever phone. I could see an 80% interest that is being recorded every day over here. As for the rest, only Android or iOS seems better. No offense but I should say with Symbian, Nokia has yet again produced an marvelous device.
POSITIVES :
1.12 MP Camera : Yes, this feature makes N8 special. World's largest camera sensor (for a mobile phone) so far.
2.STYLISH and TRENDY : Nokia has indeed come out with a great design and colors.
3.SCRATCH RESISTANT SCREEN : Gorilla glass display definitely leaves you spell bound. You need not bother anymore about those scratches.
4.PLAYS ANY SHIT : For those who are tired of converting the videos to play them on their phones, N8 is the best answer you would find. It just plays any format literally.
5.USB OTG : USB On-The-Go is one of the finest features. Have a pendrive or external hard disk with plenty of movies? Just plug it using the USB connectivity cable and Nokia N8 will play just anything in it. You can even connect your USB 2.0 speakers in case you don't have power (the most common problem in some parts of INDIA). N8 will sure enough power them for you to enjoy the music loud and good.
6.FM Transmitter : Going for a drive? Forgot your CDs or pendrive? No issues. Use N8's FM transmitter for transmitting your song over a unused frequency and then tune your car's FM to the frequency you have set in your N8 and enjoy. N8's your own radio station man!
7.OVI STORE and OVI MAPS : AS usual, Nokia gives Maps for free and there are plenty of FREE apps on OVI STORE. Grab them as you usually do.
8.AMOLED display : Watch HD movies on your N8. I bet you are going to enjoy it thoroughly. Not to forget, USB OTG makes it even more easier to watch movies.
9.720p Video TV-out : With a HDMI cable in your you can enjoy any videos that you might have recorded in HD with Dolby Digital Plus sound.
10.Anodized aluminum casing : N8's color is gonna be your favorite. Don't worry, it won't fade away for it is anodized.
11.OVI MUSIC : I am not aware of this offer in other locations. But in INDIA, you can download music legally from OVI Music free of cost for an year from the date of purchase.
There are other plenty of elements to talk about. I might have missed some of them. Apologies.
NEGATIVES :
This is quite silly. No matter what the product is, there are negatives. In this case N8's negatives are negligible but still a review is justified with atleast a few negatives.
1.MONO SPEAKER : Ofcourse, with stereo speakers there is nothing much you are going to experience but a stereo speaker would have been better.
Oops! I can't recall any other negatives. I really doubt if there is anything left.
I hope it would be useful for those who have less or no idea about N8.

SUNNY, 08 Mar 2011There is no such purple defect in the screen, its a design ... morethen why are these colour isuse also in movis white night cenes the clock are not a problem for me but the movis are its anoying whatshing a movi whit a night cene and it look if cenes are shot in a dark chocelet becaes thats how it looks whit this problem i still love the phone and on my acount a few frends also bought n8 becaese its falue for money.

Really love this phone, I am from singapore. Best connection, best music flow, swype input, filled with many possibilities, joyful, stunning camera, build body, healthy battery life, never missed a call. Them only thing I am not satisfied is I want a 4inch display. :)
p.s- this is my first nokia phone ever.I am really impressed that they can keep pace with android n ios.

When loading maps does one pay for the data as it 'adds'?
Also, games and apps that are free, does one pay to download whatever size the game is? Also, what is the approximate cost per Mb.

subu, 08 Mar 2011am planning 2 buy it how is it perfomance pls tellIt's a superb phone armed with 12mp camera , carl zeiss optics & xenon flash. Moreover, fluid UI, fun games like iph n8 android.has build body. But if u re still in doubt go out and try it out. Cheers.....

What are you comparing it too?, an Iphone, an Android?, you can keep em mate!.
Find me another phone that has ALL the features of the N8!

Hey, it's me again!
Good to see N8 still holding strong on daily interests and rankings. I've had the phone since the first commcercal availability day since I preordered and live in Finland and I still don't have anything bad to say about this phone. Sure a few quality of life changes somewhere in the OS would be nice, but as said they are only quality of life changes and I cope without them too.
Still wouldn't trade my N8 for any other phone out there :)

What an ugly phone with boring symbion OS!!! All know wot happens when Nokia make high end devices(N97, N97 mini etc)...even Nokia is changing to windows OS.. feel sorry for all who using these devices..

for the people who are facing the restart problem in their n8..just disable the gps and the phone will work like a breeze..when not in use put the gps in the offline mode..there is problem with the internal gps which interferes with symbian 3 and causes it to restart repeatedly..for the time this is the only way out and meanwhile we can only wait till the time nokia comes up with a update..hope this will help many users..

i have used most of the Nokia devices including the much publicized N8 but i am not really satisfied with the N8 device. my brother has an htc desire and my sis has an iPhone4 and they keep mobbing me to give up with Nokia. i have used the Ericsson vivas as well and it is really competing with Nokia. the only good thing about Nokia is the user friendliness and the camera but that is not what i want in 2011. Nokia should improve on their technology
