Charging prolongs while you're using your phone that can lead to overcharging and overheating which can damage the battery.

to play hd videos recorded thru n8...u need a monitor that is capable of playing hd videos...graphic card wont help...hd monitor needed...

and secondly, you can create custom equalizers in Tunewiki which when you create them will also be available in your default music player of the N8!! Check it out..let me know if it works for you..Cheers.

hi guys..am planing 2 buy a phone lik the n8...i like it very much...but one of my friends suggested for going with the iphone....what shud i do..?? plz help...Also i prefer having a mobile with great sound clarity with loudness...i currently own an X2...but its sound is not very clear...its just noisy...thats al...not clear n smooth...i hate that kind of speakers...i liked the 5800XM as it had dual speakers n was clear enough..it was a great phone...So i wanna knw abt d sound quality of n8...it has only mono speaker i guess..is it gud enough?? or shud i go for d iphone...plz suggest...also is thr ny othr problms with d n8 lik firmware problems??

Good call quality. Speaker quality great. I have owned this phone since November and no issues whatsoever....perhaps you bought a duff one!!!

u are comparing N8 with
5800 in any respect
then its not fair..
The only positive side
of 5800 is its dual stereo
speaker's..
Otherwise 5800 stands
nowhere in comparision to N8..

I got the N8 for the past month..had the nokia 5800 music express (also touchphone)..much better battery life on 5800..battery life is very poor on N8..overated on gsm arena..N8 graphics are excellent..but sound quality, both built-in and headphone is very poor...5800 is excellent...I dont know why they didnt put in the spec speakers as 5800...reception quality is not the best either..this phone should have come with a similiar rubber type cover as 5800..overall its overated...nokia can do much better...and deliver a package thats perfect in every respect..rather than recreating they should use some of the stuff that they have already perfected in other models...speakers, aerial, battery life etc..

Unfortunately I can't give you a straight solution for your problem though.. Because after the update, I also can't opne OVI store application in my mobile... I can't even install that... (Most probably some bug I think..)
In order to have OVI store applications, I use my computer... The trick is very simple..
1) Log in to OVI store in your computer
2) Select the application you want to download
3) Click on 'send to friend'
4) After opening the web page replace 'send to friend' by 'download' in address bar of the browser..
(Within a second the file will be downloaded to your computer... Cool... Isn't it...?)
5) Now transfer the SIS file to your mobile and install it normally.

I totally agree with you on this brother... There is no such 'Purple/reddish screen defect' in N8... So many people misunderstand the 'screen brightness control' which is bit poor software development by nokia, as a hardware defect...
If you don't believe me, just install 'lightctrl.sis' in your phone and set the brightness level to 80... (This software will replace the default brightness control using the ambient light sensor so you'll see s super bright N8 screen at night also...)
Now you'll understand, there is no such defect... It's 'Purple mania' as you said and it's because Nokia's automatic brightness control software poor coding....

I've had this from November 2010. And its the best N-Series Nokia phone I have have to date. I've had N73, N82, N95, N86, N97. Honestly, had to get used keyboard, got about 5 reboots. But all mobile devices have their disadvantages. So You can't blame Nokia. In a few days N8 will be second most viewed on GSMArena. Most amazing mobile phone period.......#thankuNokia
