Anonymous, 26 Jan 2011use pc suite 7.1.40.6 instead of ovi suite.Tried PC Suite but the same thing happens...
Windows cannot find or install drivers for USB MTP device :(

hey guys!! recently i dropped my N8 on the floor and it got blank!! i tried to start it but to no avail.. then i put it on the charger and after 4 to 5 hours of charging it started and showed the display but then again switched off itself!! please help me guys is ther a battery problem? as i think the board is ok and the screen is ok.. wat should i do?

After months of reviewing all the smart phones I decided on N8. I have had the phone 2 months now and have had no major issues with it. Call quality, which was a must for me, is excellent! In the past I have never taken camera phones seriously, until now. In fact a friend who is into photography said they were impressed with the camera quality.
I know symbian is not the slickest software out there but that for me was not a deal breaker - at the end of the day it works well enough. Again Ovi store might not have the same amount of apps as others, but to be honest most of the apps I have seen are garbage anyway! The N8 in my opinion is a great all rounder and at virtually half the price sim free as a iphone4 it is fantastic value too!
On a different note, it would be great if Nokia just came out and told everyone when this new firmware update was coming. The speculation was December,then January, now I have heard February....Cmon Nokia!

Symbian is good?, 26 Jan 2011Are you joking?Your nokia n8 might have the best camera but... morethat weak processor is couples by a better GPU than on ANY other Android or iOS device(prior to the dual core Androids). It also has THE BEST connectivity, THE BEST build qualiy, THE BEST call quality, THE BEST video recording, THE BEST music playback quality(only bested by the N91), THE BEST video codec support out of the box, THE BEST multitasking(wait, the otherz dnt hav real multitasking do they? Lol), and by far the MOST efficient and MOST open mobile OS. Bet ye quiete nw..

nokia n8 is a very good phone.i have used it for 1 month and found its the best phone we can get .i am really satisfied.n8 is sold numerously.its in shortage in most shops.samsung galaxy is an alternative but n8 scores better in terms of spec and after sales service and high value in second sales market.symbian 3 is good indeed.and has good apps support.

I found tha... moreFor those who have problem connecting with ovi suite try instalation of ovi suite from the phone (it is there preinstalled). If you already have it on your pc it will ask you if you want to repair.Click yes and will do the job. I had the same problem for a long time and i was using only blth.I am sure it will work. Is flash lite same as adobe flash?
If not please tell the difference...plz
I see that n8 browser supports flash lite, does it mean that n8 browser can play embedded flash player?

i love my N8 but i hate Nokia....still i have few questions for N8 lovrs including me?
1.What is N8 worth for?
>>extremly bad browser
>>UI is not that good/even SPB mobile shell is smoother
>>andoinzed body feels good but can easily get dents
>>Social hub is nowhere near to any other smart phone(be it sony ericsson,samsung,motorola or iphone)
>>Ovi maps is gr8 but it doesn't provide satellite view of India.....why?
>>music unlimited is gr8 but can't play or share with any other devices
>>Ovi store has nothing to offer that makes me proud
>>Push mail not working on N8
>>ovi store crashes or fails quiet often

Who say n8 is a goodsmart phone though all the people who r useing handset its just a month or 2 i had got ths handset in month of oct 2010 aftr a month ths handset was droped from my hand handset went totaly off i gave it to service center they told me it wll take 45 day n whn phone was back aftr downloading 16 gb it started rebooting hence i sold the handset n got samsung wave its far better thn n8 n the hardware qalty is 100% better thn n8 nokia has droped thr qlty

some time it hangs i switch on/of then everything gr8 again n8 is addictive to me i cant stay off from this sweetheart, :)
