However, many people looks down on Nokia N8-00 because it has only these features. So, what that kind of features has been implemented to Nokia N8-00, do you think they will look down on this?

MUST READ FOR EVERYONE--
GLOBAL – Being disorganised is SO last year. This year is about
getting things in order and being as
efficient as possible. For us
anyway. That ’s why we ’ve put together a little guide to how you
can make this year a productive
one, right from your own mobile
phone. Find out how you can get
organised with your Nokia, right
here. Read on.
We’re hoping last year was a great year for you and we ’re here to help you make this year an even better
one. With some useful advice and
tips on how to make the most of
your phones native software, plus
some help from the apps that await
your attention from Ovi Store.
1. Ovi Setting up an Ovi account is the
best way to get the most of your
Nokia phone. Once you ’re set up with your free account at Ovi.com , you ’re phone is only a few clicks away from any service Nokia have
to offer.
2. Email Pre-installed on all Nokia devices, it
goes under the name of Nokia Messaging and it’s the first thing we do when setting up a new phone.
With support for Ovi Mail, Yahoo!
Mail, Google Mail, Windows Live
Hotmail and many other POP/IMAP
accounts, as well as corporate
accounts using Microsoft Exchange, you ’ve got access to ten personal email accounts. Instantly
connecting your phone to any/all
of your inboxes.
3. Ovi Store For those apps that aren’t already installed on your phone, it ’s the best and quickest way to get apps.
Shopping at Ovi Store is as simple as clicking the icon and browsing
through through thousands of apps
and games.
4. Sticky Notes Touch No organised person would be
complete without Stickynotes. You
write little things down and stick
them on your wall to remind you to-
do something later. Sticky Notes Touch lets you jot down tasks quickly, onto a virtual cork
noticeboard.
5. Ovi Maps Ditch the A-Z or the other route
planners you browse on the net
before you leave the house. Switch
on Ovi Maps on your phone and you ’ve got instant navigation – with turn-by-turn directions – to anywhere in the world. For free,
forever.
6. Multiple alarms If you wake up at 5am every
morning, bringing yourself to reset
that alarm every night is the last
thing you want to do. Set up a
repeating alarm so that you only
need to set it once, leaving the phone to do the boring repetitive bit
by itself. Navigate to the Alarm
section of your phone, add your
new alarm time and choose which
days you want the alarm to sound.
Job done.
7. Ovi Contacts Personal data is the number one
thing people care about most when
something goes wrong with their
technology. A phone can be
replaced, but the phone numbers
held within can be lost forever. Ovi Contacts can grab all the phone contacts from your phone and store
them online, forever. Syncing your
phone over-the-air with the server
from time to time will keep this list
up-to-date and keep your contacts
safe and sound.
8. Social Being organised doesn’t just mean being on top of things at work, your
social life also needs organising
too. You don ’t want to forget someones birthday do you? Social keeps you up-to-date with your
friends’ activity – through their status updates or tweets – and lets you download events they ’ve organised on Facebook right into
your phone calendar and comes
built-in with new Symbian devices.
9. Quickoffice Pro 6 Do some of your work on the hour-
long train journey home, so you
can spend some more time playing
with the kids or shooting zombies in
that new game you ’ve got. Whatever you prefer. Quickoffice Pro 6 turns your phone into a portable work desk, enabling you to
go through those accounts and
finish that presentation for the next
morning.
10. Memory Status Touch After a while and a good few
months down-the-line, you might
notice you ’ve filled all that storage space on your phone with apps,
games, music, videos and photos. Memory Status Touch , helps you keep an eye on the memory of
your phone so you know when it ’s time to do some house-keeping, to
remove some of that old content.
So, ten ways to help you keep
organised this year and make the
most of your phone.GOOD LUCK

Nokia N8: How To Upload
Photographs To Facebook
Once you ’ve taken photographs using the
excellent camera on the
Nokia N8, the chances are you ’ll want to share them. Nokia’s Ovi service makes it easy to share
snaps with Facebook or Twitter
To get started, open the photograph
that you want to share on
Facebook. Once you ’ve cropped or edited it, and are happy with the
way it looks, it ’s time to click the share button. The button is on the
bottom left of the photograph.
You ’ll need to have an Ovi Account, and you ’ll also have to enter details for your Facebook or Twitter
account. Once you ’ve logged in and stored the login details for your
social networks, future uploading is
a simple case of tapping the share
button in any of your photographs – they ’ll then upload automatically, with the time
and “via Ovi by Nokia ”
You can also add multiple
photographs from the Facebook app
itself – or even upload snaps straight from the camera. To do this,
click on the little camera icon in the
Facebook app.
You then be asked what you want to
share, being able to choose from the
following options: Photo(s) from the
Gallery, Photo from the Camera and
Video from the Gallery. All do
exactly what they claim to, making it easy to upload your content.
Clicking on the Gallery option takes
you straight to your snaps – you can click on up to six to upload – simply press OK once you ’ve picked the right ones. Clicking the
Camera option lets you take a
photograph there and then,
automatically uploading it straight
away.

Symbian ^3: Top 10 Ways To Get
The Most Out Of The Nokia N8 OS
~Change the Themes
There are loads of themes available
for
your Nokia n8 –and you ’ ll find a decent amount already pre-installed
on the
handset itsel.By changing the
theme,
you can change the way your Nokia
n8 looks –from menu colours, to icon styles, to backgrounds. There are
also lots of
other themes available for
download,
completely changing the look of
Symbian ^3 and your new Nokia.
~Opera Mobile
Opera
Mobile is one of the better
suggestions,
and is the first download i made on
our Nokia n8 –offering an excellent web browsing experience. From
multiple
homescreens, to tabbed browsing, all
in
a fast and stable web browser.
~Update the firmware Firmware
updates are the key to getting
the best experience when using
Symbian^3. There are fixes for bugs,
performance increases and extra
features all offered through firmware updates. Type *#0000# and click on
Options, then press Search for
Updates
to check for the latest firmware
updates.
~Swype
keyboard has the potential to
change
the way you enter text into your
smartphone, letting you slide your
finger across letters without lifting, and
speeding up the process
dramatically. It
also lets you hold down a key to hit
secondary functions –such as numbers or characters –which works a lot better than going into sub
menus.
~Organise the menu
Versatility is one of the best bits
about
Symbian ^3, and it ’ s easy to set up the menu in a way that suits your
needs.
You can fully utilise different folders,
or
move all your apps onto the main
page.
~Nokia Situations or Nokia Bots
its been particularly impressed with
Nokia Situations and Nokia Bots in
the past, with both of these apps
letting
your Nokia n8 control itself. From changing profiles at particular times,
to
opening certain web pages on
different
days, context aware apps can really
change the way you use your Nokia n8.
~Latest games
The Nokia n8 has got some 25+ very good HD
GAMES like-NFS,ANGRY BIRD,ASPHALT5,TOM CLANCY,GOLF,CRICKET,FOOTBALL ETC with a
load of outstanding titles currently
available from the Ovi Store.
~Ovi Maps 3.06
i love Ovi Maps. Nokia ’ s premium satellite navigation service has it all,
and
yet it ’ s completely free. Ovi Maps 3.06 is the latest version, and it ’ s worth downloading for your Nokia
n8. The
menus have received an overhaul,
everything looks nicer, and there
are
new features that add to usability, such
as pinch to zoom.
~Webpage shortcuts
Check the same webpage a lot?
Webmail, for instance, or your
favourite
news site? Rather than opening a
browser –be it Nokia ’ s own or Opera Mobile –it’ s also possible to add a shortcut to your favourite site,
straight
onto your Nokia n8 home
page. Simply tap Options, Edit
Home Screen
and pick a Shortcuts bar for one of the
empty spaces. Tap and hold the bar
until
Settings pops up, but instead of
choosing
an app as a shortcut, you can choose
one of your internet book marks.
That way, every time you tap the
icon, your
fave page will load straight up –it’ s perfect for checking the latest
football
scores!
~Nokia Messaging.
Take advantage of Nokia ’ s messaging service, and get your
emails on the
move wherever you go. From the
homescreen, again tap Options and
Edit
Homescreen, and pick an empty space.
Tap it, scroll down and click the Email
widget. You ’ ll then be taken to Nokia ’ s email wizard –letting you easily set up your account for use on your Nokia n8.
Once you ’ ve followed the guide – which basically involves you putting
in your
username and password –you ’ ll get notifications of future emails on
the
homescreen of your Nokia N8.

A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE-
Top 10 Ways Nokia N8 Symbian^3
Firmware Update Improves Your
Nokia. One of the great things about
the Nokia n8, is that it ’ s constantly being improved.
Firmware updates allow Nokia to fix
problems, add extra
features, and make lots of
improvements.
Firmware updates are Nokia ’ s way of improving its handsets, offering
gradual
improvements and additional
features
as and when they ’ re required. There’ s lots to know about firmware updates
~Bugs
Nokia is constantly working on
getting
the best out of its smartphones, so
each firmware update for the Nokia n8 will
bring fixes for known bugs.
~Features
Firmware updates can also bring
additional features. One of the
rumoured
firmware updates for the Nokia n8
includes a portrait QWERTY keypad, so
it’ s well worth keeping an eye on so you don ’ t miss out.
~Costs
Some firmware updates are
particularly
big in size –especially if Nokia is introducing extra features to the
Nokia
n8, in addition to fixing bugs and
offering
better performance. It’ s worth looking at the size of the update,
and using Wi-Fi
rather than 3G if it’ s a large update.
~OTA aka over the air
Nokia offers a couple of different
ways
to upgrade the firmware on your
Nokia
N8. One of these is OTA (Over the air),
which you can do with just your
phone
itself.
~NSU or Nokia Software Updater –is the other option when it comes to
firmware
updates. You can download the
latest
firmware using NSU or now by ovi
suite and your PC, letting you save money on data costs, and
transferring the firmware across to
your
Nokia n8 via USB cable.
~Check for updates
Now you know it ’ s worth checking for the latest firmware updates on
your
Nokia n8, how do you go about it?
The
easiest way is to open the onscreen
numberpad and press: *#0000# followed by Options and Check for
Updates. ~Symbian ^3 Updates
It’ s not just updates specific to the Nokia n8 either. With Symbian ^3
being a
brand new OS, there are lots of
things
that can be made better, so firmware
updates allow Nokia to improve its operating system as time goes on.
~Performance
Speed is another reason you
should
always check for the latest updates.
Along with fixes for bugs and
additional features, firmware updates can also
bring performance boosts.
~Stability
Being a brand new operating
system,
Symbian ^3 still has the odd issue
when
it comes to stability, occasionally crashing. Firmware updates can
help
this, bringing more stable software.
~Backup
Before updating to the latest
firmware,
it’ s always worth backing up your files and contact details –just in case anything goes wrong during the
update.
That way, you ’ ll be able to copy all your files back across should the
worst
happen.

sanju, 19 Jan 2011i think so nokia have used lots of cheap spare parts and ch... moreAre you serious? Do you own this phone? Or are you just reading stuff that people post here and in other sites and you are then concluding on that? I have some facts for. Base your thoughts on this if you like.
1. I have this phone for 2 months now and no issues whatsoever. The updates that I have received thus far have made this phone more stable (although it is anyway).
2. The quality of the phone is awesome. I have no issues whatsoever with my phone getting scratches or dents. No phone is perfect so I am sure that later on I will get some scratches on it. Every phone does. I have a cover on my phone and the screen protector is still on the phone.
3. I have dropped the phone at least 3 times already and in 2 instances the phone was flung out of my hands. I panicked but the phone is working fine. Not a scratch as well. Mind you, my cover only protects the back. The front is still fully exposed as well as the camera lens.
4. My phone as well as others like me at my work (friends) have phones that just works. They also are very happy with their phones. Thats 6 people i know other than me personally that have this phone.
6. Lastly, not to say that this phone is perfect and that there are no defective units out there. Nokia have admitted that. They stated that it was just a small batch. I've had 2 defective units. They were replaced. This phone i have now is excellent for 2 months. You see, after getting a taste of this phone with the 1st faulty unit i couldnt settle for any other phone.

i think so nokia have used lots of cheap spare parts and chips to design and make this shit n8 bcoz all the user r complaining about their n8.recently i saw a comment that n8 user said that he had been using n8 from couple of months and now problems have started.so its been 5 months still everyone is complaining and complaints still not finished of yet ,so i think so n8 will soon go off the air bcoz this shit can't stand too long in the market now defects r still present in it and this will be the biggest disaster for nokia and it will teach them a lesson too that playing mind games and tricks to make fool to people will not work now.so nokia there is still enough time to stand up and get back to hard work and make some good phones like n900 otherwise it will be too late for nokia to come up to the level were technology is raising up day by day...so i wish all d best i wish nokia will stand at top from all 3 big companies bcoz somewhere in my heart nokia is still king...

Initially I was very impressed with it as a replacement for my n97 mini but now I'm regretting getting it. 1st there are a number of times the phone simply freezes for no apparent reason. Or, it seems to be working but has lost signal and will not recieve any calls.--- "have you tried a hard reset by pressing power button for about 8 seconds the phone vibrates and wil restart"
I find messaging with the qwerty keyboard a disaster - it always misreads the keys you press. Swype is sluggish.-- i have swype its not bad at all infact pretty intuitive trust me i have fat fingers
If you have the phone in your pocket you can often miss calls because the speaker is easily muted.-- go to settings and chk sensor settings please switch it off to avoid turn to mute option
And lastly, it certainly is not scratch resistant. I treat my phones with a lot of care and the paint is starting to wear away from the plastic bottom, my screen has a little scratch in it that annoys me no end and to my horror I found a scratch on the camera lens and surround. Oh and there is the cracking in the Glossy HDMI cover. The only real benifit of this phone over my old phone is the screen in sunlight and the camera--- the phone is made of Aluminium i wonder how you got a plastic cover there.....
