me again, WELL the player is good, just play with equalizer!!!,
to other dude- e-gay,
n80 IS better than N92, more compact, and stylish,
just make sure u bought silver one( and test it's assembly and slider play) and u can always change a faceplate!!!
WLAN is a good option, the screen is amazing, and overall performance is better!

The N80 Music Player and Audio Quality sucks compared to the N91, i am stuck with the N80 as they discontinued the N91 on 02 Network..
the N80 isnt loud enough at full volume, just like the W810i is the same, they are all good quality Audio, but NEVER loud enough, and before you say anything, its NOT my ears, all my friends agree, these phones need a "spinal tap" ha ha ha "this one goes to 11" ha ha ha

thats a possibility. your SIM card might not be 3G ready. you can also check with your provider if your SIM card is 3G capable or not. but i have a friend who uses a 2yr old SIM and its running in 3G. but just to make sure, check with your provider =)

im also experiencing the same issue about the time i receive the text message. it only happens to one person on my contacts.

though i notice as well that it only happens if that person is on a certain place or area. when he is in his house, the time is wrong. but when he's in the office, the time is correct.

weird but i dont know what's happening.

Please, can someone confirm that I can synchronize outlook tasks on a N80 through the synchro USB cable connected to a PC running Windows ?

I didn't buy one because the salesman told me he was sure it synch calendar and contacts, but not so sure about tasks...

But I'm eager to hear the contrary, so that I can buy one asap !!!

OH, FOR THOSE that claims that their pfones don't take symbian apps:

USE App's that are for RIGHT vesion of Symbian. like someone suggested,

              www.series60v3.com

though some apps have bugs, one or two programs corrupts your phone a little too much, and errrors keep poppin' up, and some themes(RED DEVIL)are very good looking but f.cks up your expensive Nokia N80, and you 'll be definitelly facing reinstall of the firmware!!! and once again, do you need a 20 applications on your phone?

              QUESTION FOR VERYONE(appreciation in advance)

can i(though i saw answer NO before) or will i anytime soon BUY DOWNLOAD Applications such: TV REMOTE(IRDA REMOTE CONTROLLER FOR Different devices) Police radar detector(by the way does such thing works in USA? and how exactly this thing works..) and few more usefull prog's like a anonimous text sender to bluetooth phones(saw such softfor some other phone)well, some kind of THEFT prevention Software(my first unit $ 760 USD bought in july) got stolen.)

Well, ladies and Gent's, here is a few things,
                1) if you want a GOOOOD LEATHER CASE(though slightly expensive to my opinion, and pocket) than you are looking at this:

                http://www.pielframa.net/nokia_n80.asp

As of to Battery life, well 2 options:
                1) buy 4 batteries, they are cheap.
                2) i saw a posting here, about modifying a BL-5C battery to fit in N80.

For those who disassembled the phone for more than 4 times- Be carefull, the screen cable brakes!!!

for those who buys a faceplates- well, there is a common problem, especially with phone faces from honk kong, THE LOWER LEFT cornet of the metal plate on facia is not glued on good, therefore some creativity( and may be 1-2 morefaceplates to experiment on) are required.

MEMORY CARD ISSUES: there is nothing wrong with your phone, it's a 99% a memory cart FAULT!

DO NOT BUY CHEAP MINI SD cards, i looked on DISCOVERY CHANNEL ABOUT memory programming of the SD cards, they can make 2 GB out of 512 MB but rate of ERRORS INCREASES in geometric propoption(dramatically).

Firmware Update, well, don't bother if thing works, also, fault of update may occur if your PC Uses low quality RAM, and/or/you have a memory utility, or you got bunch of crap such as programs, viruses and other memory rsident data on your PC.

Camera- is GOOD, but you might adjust some settings on-the-go as the conditions change (N73 does have a better camera-tried- and compared!!!)

when you have a software installed on MINISD card, it's good and also bad! e-mail me for details.

SLIDER: well, you unlucky to purchase a chineese assembled unit! Only solutions\1) open up phone, and sing pliers bend in the rails(metal ones, the ones on the base of the phone not the top part)DANGEROUS METHOD!
                2) safe and sound! BUY THE WHOLE NEW HOUSING(preferably genuine(runs about $80-100) and rebuild your unit.

DO NOT INSTALL SOWTWARE IF IT PROMPTS THAT IT's NOT INTENDED FOR YOUR MODEL! or else you'll be seeing crashes and not-funny system errors!!!
be reasonable with amount of installed software!

                And last:
YOUR PHONE USES ONLY LOCAL MEMORY(NEVER A MINI-SD RAM)TO CASE THE WEBSITES! THEREFOR ON SOME WEBPAGES(LIKE E-BAY) YOU WILL SEE THAT MESSAGE OF " CLOSE SOME APP'S" WELL, THERE IS A WAAY ARROUND-
INSTALL OPERA MINI BROWSER! AND USE IT INSTEAD OF BUILT IN WEB BROWSER!!!

AND REMINDER- A VERY GOOD POUCH/CASE/CARRYING CASE

                http://www.pielframa.net/nokia_n80.asp

-(ALSO E-BAY FOR $49 INSTEAD OF 50 EUROS I BOUGHT ONE!!)
OH, I WENT THROUGH ALL THIS, INCLUDING BROKEN SCREEN, 3RD PHONE(FIRST WAS STOLEN, AND SECOND WAS TOO CHINEESE TO KEEP TO MYTSELF, WITH ALL SIMPTOMPS OF HONK KONG SWEATSHOP ASSEMBLY LINE QUALITY)
NOT TO MENTION THAT I'M A MOBILE ENTHUSIAST, AND 8 YEARS EXP. PC TECH / AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEER.
HOPEFULLY SOMEONE WILL FIND IT USEFUL!!

SAY THANKS TO ME IF U DID!

Just a note of caution. I tried to upgrade my N80 (and download the sms accelarator program as well) through the Nokia website. I followed all the set guidelines and the site said it was very easy. However, i received an error message just before the upgrade finishes saying it failed. I clicked retry but got the same result. I then clicked cancel and saw that my phone was still not being detected by th PC. In short, my phone wont turn on anymore.

Piece of advise, if you want an upgrade just go to any Nokia care shop and have them do it. I went there and the technician said that they really should be the ones to do it and they have received a lot of dead phones from people who tried to upgrade their software online. They were also dumbfounded why the software upgrade link on the Nokia website still hasn't been removed by Nokia.

                          SARAH

doublecheck your GPRS settings again from your network provider.

also check your N80's Connection settings if Packet Data is selected instead of Wireless LAN.

If all your GPRS settings are correct, another possible cause is that the GPRS signal from your provider might not be available on the area you are in or maybe not available at that time.

I suggest you call your network provider and check with them if you have the right settings or if they are having problem with their GPRS service.

So can you play high quality videos on the N80, i.e. episodes of tv shows or movies in mpeg4 format, with minimal degradation? I've seen examples of the N95 playing back movies on youtube but none of the N80. I ride the bus to work a long ways, so that would be incredible!
