Has anyone else tried out the BL-6C yet, if so, any feedback? is it fully compatible?

Well, I got this phone brand new in May and today I'm taking delivery of my FOURTH handset! The phone has fabuolous features but is the most unreliable and problem riddled thing I have ever used. It's devastating because it really is a wonderful piece of kit. I have this phone on Orange in the UK and the problems with it are so bad that Orange have actually discontinued it and it is no longer available for upgrade on their network! I know many other people who have this phone on different networks and have some problems but nowhere near the amount that Orange do. Orange themselves have told me that they believe their software is incompatible with Nokias, hence all the problems. They've also told me that they will not be releasing any other N series smartphones from Nokia. Both the N91 and the N73 have been shelved by Orange. When I first got this phone, the first one broke after 6 days, constantly switching itself off and then the 'hang up key' (red button) gave up and I couldn't end a call without switching the phone off. Phone number 2 did well until the microphone packed up and nobody could hear me. Phone number 3 has started freezing so badly that even taking the battery out doesn't solve the problem because as soon as the battery is back in and switched on, all I get is the now famous 'Nokia White Screen Of Death'! and it fails to get any further. My husband has the Sony Ericsson K800i and it's a fabulous phone which hasn't given him a monents trouble. I'd even go so far as to say that the camera in the K800 is superior to that of the N80, the flash is miles better too. Another fault that Number 3 has is that it won't open all the photo's in the gallery. You can see the pic in miniature but when you click on it to maximise it to full screen, it vanishes and turns into a little blue square with a sailing boat in it! Very strange. I've always loved Nokias but I'm thinking if I stay with Orange I shall have to change my brand of phone or if I stay with Nokia I shall have to go to Vodafone which I really don't want to do. If only Nokia and Orange could sort their problems out . . . .

@kyan: yah N80 is slow beacuse of it high 352x416 pixel display and 262 k color the processor has to produce such high pixels
and has to generate 262k colors thats why nokia dont put that display in n73 and n95 it eats battery, try to free ur phone memory as possible
keep all ur pics videos songs and sms on memory card the more the free phone memory the more the device runs fasts, and dont leave the appilication running when not in use. it will help u to boost the speed. if problem presists format ur phone *#7370#.

i had my n80 a month ago and got dissapointed to it. n80 is processes slow i have upgraded my memory card to 512MB but still the phone has delays,, on the lighter side,, the picture quality of n80 is good!

this phone is battery eating monster beacuse of its superb lcd 352x416 pixel and 262k color and 300mhz processor follow these tips it will help u to get more talktime, try switching off the vibration alert.. set the light timeout to as less as possible and the display brightness, the dimmer the better... All this will help u get more battery backup, and if u have extra$$ buy BL-6C battery.

Nokia N80 shows that it can be an adequate competitor and far exceeded our initial expectations even without the Carl Zeiss logo and the autofocus lens. Overall it is a better imaging device than Nokia N90 and Sony Ericsson K750. Nokia N80 also wins in the video capturing department.

@ali: BL-6C will not damage the phone, BL-5b is 750mah and BL-6C is 1100 mah mah(milliamperes per hour) the more the mah the more the talktime the voltage is same 3.7 volt, i am using it from past 2 months no problem. install BL-6C then see the diffrence

Is the N80 sliding mechanism a bit useless like you have to push it all the way up or it won't go up by itself by a little bit pushing? I am thinking of buying one but I saw a model phone in a shop that the sliding mechanism is not so smooth like other phones. Please help me out guys.
