Hi,i'm using my N80 for more then a week,it is a great phone i must say.My phone loaded with firmware V3.0617.0.6 and it does not have PDF reader as in the V4.and i do not find the video editor in my phone either.So,when i talked to my local service center regarding upgrading the firmware,they said my phone can be "SIM lock" if tried to do so since it is from EU(I'm in Malaysia now) I'm using the phone with a local Malaysian GSM SIM card.So... is there any one can tell me what should I do or just look for 3rd party sofeware? and how to tell the phone is "open" or "lock" to the country of origin? Thanks.

This phone is better than the N73 AND the N91. And for all the samsung phones: It's not just in the looks - it's in the brooks. So N80 is the winner once again !

I'm interested to buy a new mobile. I must choose between Nokia N91 N80 & N73? Which of this mobiles is the best? From beginning i must say some word about me and about what i want. I'm 18 and I need a mobile to use it as a portable player and i'm very attracted to use my phone as a PC, to install programs, games...and other things for smartphone. Camera is another important thing that i need from my mobile. Is big difference between Nokia N91 and n80, N73? to make photos with resolution of 1600 X 1200? All this 3 mobiles have the same resolution of video recordings CIF(352 x 288 pixels) and the same clarity? or is any difference between video on Nokia n91 and N80, N73? Which of this 3 mobile have the louder sound on speaker? I was using for one day a Nokia n73 and the sound was verry cool. Nokia N91 have a louder sound on speaker than Nokia N73? or the 3D sound on N73 make the difference? Is there any problem with display on N91 because is just 208 X 176 pixels the resolution? Help me to choose one of this 3 mobiles and tell me wich is the best for me. I want to know main disadvantages of Nokia N80 in comparation with N73 & N91.

to taz /// wi-fi is hardware & therefore has to be built into the fone itself..In some smartfones they have an SD I/O slot wich means not only will it take a memory card but will take a wi-fi or bluetooth dongle type thingy to give the fone the application but these seem to be windows smartphones. To person having trouble sending sms via singular (im in uk)some fones actually do not work on certain networks because here in uk some nokias were failing to work on our O2 network because of their settings & they could not find a solution for that..I know wat your on about it took me a while on my n6630 to send & recieve mms & i checked everything over & over again & it come up sending failed --sending qued--not sent,,but was lucky tho as the network i was on supported the said fone & downloaded the setting over the air.I will look thru my n80 to see if its something else because voice & text usually work straight away these days.Got a samsung d900 saturday & its really good,,the screen put on its lowest brightness setting is the same as the n80 on full power + i must start selling some of my fones as ive got to many !!!!

Does anyone know if this phone has a stopwatch and countdown timer? I can't seem to find it within the phone. Is it possible to download such software? Also, is there a way to turn off the camera shutter sound?

been havin this phone for about a month now. still my best choice. everything you ever needed is in this piece of elegant slide phone. Pros: VERY CLEAR SCREEN! stylish, great sound from the media player, 3 mpx. very user-friendly. cons: "finger-printy" frame set, no auto-focus cam, lack of multi-tasking ability. works one application in the background and open a new appplication, the next thing you know is that the previous old application has "miraculously disappeared". the wifi works bad, if the phone doesn't pick up a full strength wifi signal, it won't load a page in the browser. i would recommend ya'll out there to buy n73 if ya looking for the best phone in town.

im having troubles with text messaging on this phone.i am able to receive but i can not send out and all of my settings are correct. Ive called my service provider(cingular) and they were not able to help me cuz they dont have info on that phone. they told me to call nokia and i was on hold for half an hour and no one still picked up. DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS THAT WILL HELP ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM? thanks.

i have a n80 but there is only one problem it freezes does anyone have any thing that i could use to make it unfreeze like a software upgrade or any options plz help me on this

can i integrate wi fi in some other smartphone which does not hav built in wifi support(like n73)
i m askin in n80 forum coz ppl here know more abt wifi n how it works

The N80 is just wonderful. If you want a do it all phone get it!
The internet is amazing on this. You can browse websites like this as they were meant to be! You can use 3G or Wifi. The screen is fantastic(best on any smartphone in the world) and great for viewing documents and email. Not to mention pictures and movies!
Its slightly higher resolution than the Sony PSP but its not widescreen which means you lose pixels due to borders on N80 videos.
Its a fun phone. Every day you are finding new software. Today i just installed Map24 Mobile. A Free program that plans car journeys for you across Europe. Whats special is that it does this with a step by step using 3d or 2d maps! Amazing stuff! :D Much better than printing out from Google or Yahoo for directions! This program makes it impossible to miss roads and turns :)
Upnp and Home media centers in my opinion are underdeveloped. The software on windows isnt that great yet. But its there and it works ok. But wirelessly pinching stuff from your pc is nice for showing off or you cant be bothered to use a cable!
The camera is great its missing autofocus N73 and K800 have but it takes pictures only slightly worse than those two phones :)
Video is superb quality. Plus you can upload to Youtube, Flickr etc. if you have the software. Go to a quality site such as Nero digital and download portable trailers from there and they look perfect on the phone. No blockiness or blur at all. Pin sharp and smooth. Much nicer than the Ipod Video due to the screen resolution.
All in all cant be happier! This is definately the most useful product ever. Biggest selling point is that its actually really useful. Looks can go old but its the function and reliance that keeps you with the N80. It become part of your lifestyle. Not just for email, internet etc. but for music, video, organisation, handy programs, education, work etc.
I recommend a 2G Mini SD card as a must when you buy the phone!

it works very nice.
