Silver and black N80s: I think your dealer in Chicago is taking you for a ride on the wild side, trying to justify the shortage in black N80s!!! Both silver and black have exactly the same software, their only difference is the colour and of course, after sales eventual software upgrades...

Yes, there is a software difference between the Silver N80s and the Black ones. I am fortunate enough to live near the Nokia Flagship store here in Chicago USA, and that's what the representative told me. They are not yet selling the Black ones at this store due to this software difference between the Silver N80s and the Black ones.

Hiiiiii. Does anyone know how to set the alarm for the week (instead of having to set it every night)? Also, does anyone know how to set the # key to activate silent mode? My # key swaps between lines.

I am using a Motorola HS850 bluetooth with the N80, and when I receive or make a call the volume level automatically lowers to below half. I continually adjust and then the bluetooth volume lowers which then needs also adjusting. Using the bluetooth with a Motorola phone, there is no problem. Has anybody experienced this and ifso what was done about it? Upgrading firmware did not solve this problem. Speaking of firmware, there are two versions available.
V 4.0623.0.41 is for a generic N80 which is a fully clean phone and v3.0617.0.6 is for a network phone. A network phone is one where the phone is unlocked however the software includes their logos, for example in Australia Telstra have the Telstra symbal and optus the ZOO. Overall there is not much difference between the two firmware. To get the higher version you pay for it at a Nokia service centre and the lower can be upgraded
free of charge on waranty.

Guys.. I heard the Black N80 is assembled in China whereas the Silver in Europe.. I thought they are all made in Finland and assembled in the same country. I know the Battery is made in China anyway. But is it true that the Black is different than the Silver???!!!!

first off, thanks so much, secondly, I go to the dogtoe site and it wont let me get in, i even downloaded an ftp program, is it cause im using a mac? do i need to do this whole procedure from a pc? thanks so much.

is it true that the n80 is poor signal fone?
im planning to buy but if this is the hindrance i wont..because im living in the remote area of the philippines so i need the phone that is a good signal

It is a brilliant phone with an awesome clarity possibly the most feature packed phone of 2006.I want to know if the phone begans to lag if more memory is added?

i had the signal problem at beggining as said in an earlier post which has resolved itself but this may cause the battery to run down faster if it struggles to connect to the basestation..afterall the n90 has a 720 ma battery & thats ok

Get the Nokia N80.. It has everything u need. The screen is so Clear and with the lastest version the phone operate quite fast. Battery is not bad, it last 2 days or so.
