ey guys
how much worse is the n80's video recording compared to the one of the most touted as the best CIF video recording...the n70?
I heard that in the n70's latest firmware it rivals the clarity and fluidity of the n90
so is the n80's video recording capability worse in what aspects? lower framerate?
noisier display?
both?
hmm can it be improved via a new firmware release?
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks hehe

Hi there,
Just a couple of quick questions...
1, On the N80 can you create folders to store and arrange images & video's, like you used to be able to on older nokias?
2, Can you change the SMS alert tone to an mp3 like you can with the ringtones?
3, Has anyone used www.e2save.com to get their N80, are they any good?

Found this above - Might be of some help - not sure if it has the N80 firmware - It definately has everything else that you need.

Wesley - You are right - I only used it yesterday!! I have the whole lot on my pc including the instructions if anybody wants to direct me to a decent FTP site thats easy to use!

I love the phone. Maybe the image and video areas could be separated. Where can i get the firwate update.

I hear stacks of posts complaining about the video recording quality, is it really that bad, im crazy over recording with mobiles, is the 6280 WHICH i have, got better recording than this

I got my N80 the other day and have since updated the Firmware to version 3.0617.0.6 and it seems to run really well now. I used to have problems with the WLAN, but now its fine. To check your firmware type *#0000# and look at the top lines last number (mine was 3 before) To upgrade the firmware either take it to a local Nokia service centre or do it yourself using the USB cable that came with your phone - For more help goto http://nokia.dogtoe.com - This site has the firmware to download and full intructions. I choose V08 language pack (you will know what I mean when you goto the site) When you follow the instructions - the one thing I wouldnt follow is updating the phone in offline mode, i.e. without sim card, I tried and failed that way, so I put the sim card in and tried again - It worked perfectly. Another thing it sorted was the memory full problem I was having before.

I just got my N80 a couple of days ago and im wondering if there is an option in the alarm to make it repeatable daily or not?!

Annoyed - when you pay top dollar for a 3MP phone only to have the cheaper 2MP N70 outperform it on video recording quality, you can't help but feel a little 'annoyed'!!!!!

Hi,
I bought the N80 in Hk ( 5300 HKD) yesterday and i am very satisfied with it.
I just have two questions :
1) Why is there only 22 MB free on the 128 MB SD card. I tried to analyse the card but there is no file more than 1MB. I have put any files on it yet. Should it format the card ?
2) I have a wireless connection at home and each time i connect from my computer, i have to put internet provider user name and password. My N80 has found the WLAN but it doesn't ask me user name and password. How to solve that ? I looked through the user manual yesterday but in vain....

Hi there people. I just got the n80 yesterday. But i think its abit dissapointing coz i hated 2 things about it.(1. u know when u scroll the phone book n press call the green button it hanged(more like nothing happen but after i restarted it was back to normal) 2. the gallery.it mixes everything up the pics n the videos. not like the old phones where u can go to yr own folders n stuff(bit more privacy) well i havent test out everything yet. But of course i am a newbie with this phone so it could be my mistake. Please someone help me out with some friendly advice. And also i am hoping that the phone can be upgraded(err like firmware?) can anyone tell me how to do it?

Not sure of the settings but you might want to do a search for "smart movie player" It is a pretty nice app that plays movies on the phone (has a much nicer FF and RW) and also comes with a converter to install on your PC. There are free trial versions so you can give it a test run and I think you can purchase it for around 20 US if you look around a bit. Also, it is compatable with the N80s Symbian 9.1 OS.
To Mike and others wondering about battery life
As several others have also said. I have had no problems with the battery. I changed my nework mode to GSM only instead of auto select. Also, I ran the battery down until the phone gave batt low messages the first time I used it. Since then I have not been able to use more than a bar or two over the course of a day.

I am in the US as well and I ended up buying mine off of ebay. The person I purchased mine from was rose528400. He was good to work with and I did receive my phone as described. The only catch was since it came from singapore the charger wouldnt plug into the wall :) Radio Shack had a universal charger for about $10 so it wasnt a problem.

hi there i still dont have the phone but iam getting it really soon.. iam confused because some nokia n80 say camera 3 mp and some say 3.2.. whats the different can someone tell me please.. thanks

Now I am getting this error: "WLAN: Unable to connect: WLAN Network not found."
What should I do now??? And yes, the router is ON and signal strength is Excellent!

Is there such thing like software update in this phone?
In SE they have software update.
Anyone here can answer this.
