Another reason why it didn't ask you which connection you will use maybe because you do not have any other access point to use.

If you have a router there there will be no problem. Ok try this.
Go to tools---settings---connection---Wireless LAN.
In the Show Availability, change it to
Another option will appear (Scan for networks) the option is your's whether to scan for WLAN per minutes.
The router must be on.

Dear Louie,
I tried as per ur instructions however, when i try to connect it doesn't ask for whih one I want to use. it just says WLAN: WLAn Network Not Found.
Please, help!!!!!!

Thanks to the guy with the advise on changing to gsm mode to increase battery life it worked a treat, batt has lasted ages. Its good to see some useful info on this site. I have had the phone 2weeks and it is brilliant, no probs,happy to be back with Nokia. Pete from NZ.

OMG - annoyed - Your well wrong. sorry but people bought the N80 for the camera, which is 3MP. which ov course means high qualitity pictures. people also thought that because of good pcitures it must have good videos. theres somthing difently wrong with the video wether its firmware or the cam, i hope its firmware so i can update it. OMG the video on this phone is CRAP

I can't find the way to change the last name to fisrt name in address book in the n80, in the contact/options menu it not apears settings or something like that. please help me

After reading all of the review. I really love this phone and plan to get it but I see so many people didnt like the N80 battery and the slide getting loose.. So you guy think it worth to buy it?? Thanks

Well you say about the Video quality.... yes that is a mobil.. but some people say that the video of the N70 is better?
so that is because in the N80 can put well the seetings of the camera? or is that need a new firmware?

Hi, does anyone know what mp4 settings need to be used to encode a MP4 file to use on the N80. Ive tried using Nero Recode but the files dont play. Can someone help me please, i'd love to put whole films etc onto my fone for viewing as i've jus got a 2GB card.
And yes a 2GB card works fine for all those of you who want to know..lol

Peple are just complaining and complaining..
Most problems / questions here are related to not bothering reading the manual. Unless you've stolen the phone, take a look at the manual that came with it.. all your questions are answered there..
As for video quality in low ligh. What did you expect? It's not a dedicated camcoder with a good / big lens.. And it's not Nokia's fault but your own desire for a small pocketable device!

If you have, say, orange firmware, GET RID. my 1st n80 had it and they dr it that much its hardly recognisable compared to a sim free n80. but if you mess it up, and you have to take it back to a nokia repairer, you will only be able to get the orange sw flashed! under your battery, there is a code which relates to your nokia at the factory being flashed with a particular sw! if it gets sent back to nokia for any reason, they look up this code and flash appropriately!

To WLAN Seeker:
All you have to do is go to web---settings---Access point---choose from the 2 options (Always ask).
With this when your going to connect to the internet, your going to be asked whether to use the access point you have or search for WLan.
That's all you need to do, but you have to provide the WEP.
Can i ask also, i have f-secure mobile installed in my phone but this was just a trial version that is good for 30 days. Anyone here knows where will i get a keygen for it, or just recommend me an anti-virus that is best suit for N80. Thanks..

Can anyone please, write down the steps for connecting to WLAN when we have a wireless router.
