While comparing NOKIA and Sony Ericsson mobile devices, we should do consider some realities and never forget to realize that both manufacturers have different approach to address the market and both have different cult to target their audiences as well as customers. First and the foremost key differentiators between the two is NOKIA manufactures the best communication devices with all aspects but SONY ERICSSON's distinction is offering the best and maximum multimedia capabilities. Secondly, NOKIA already attains a very wide customers base and each of the proposed or the offered product is meant for an entirely a different class of people e.g. See the difference b/w 3250 and N91 both are Musical devices but one is for those who are not well to do and they care least about what they carry in their hands but they just need maximum set of functions in one device and that even on very low cost and the other one is for those who not only need maximum possibilities but also very much conscious about the class to which they belong and they do believe their mobile set should depict the class to which they belong. Now if you look at SONY ERICSSON, although here too you find different classes of its proposed or the offered products but its classification of sets is not based on the purchasing power of the people but on the basis of people' current inclination and on their choices. Looking on SONY's wide range of Multimedia products and its capability in different multimedia devices including Digital cams and best TVs with unique color screens and very nice sound quality, its Walkmans etc, it seems SONY is on its way to decrease the production and wants to provide all these segments into Mobile Phones. Then all of us know it very well that before entering into business with SONy, Ericsson was never good in offering good mobile devices rather due to their poor reception quality, bad battery timing and very low standard other capabilities though those were maximum as today, was totally a failure. Hence, comparing SONY ERICSSON with NOKIA shall always lead us conclude SE as the winner but not as a good phone but as one of the best multimedia devices. NOKIA on the other hand, always comes with new experiemnts and even if this comes with any innovation with respect to multimedia, it's always risk for it but whatsoever the aspect of communication you take into account, NOKIA spells over and no doubt this is what that makes it as the best MOBILE PHONE and this is what has sustained it as a TRUE market Leader. Hence, to cut the long story short, NOKIA is the best in comunication but SONY ERICSSON spells over in terms of its multimedia capabilities and really really innovative, genuine and truly pretty n glamourous design.

How do you change the color of the operator logo? I went to "color", I was able to change everything else but for some reason the operator still is black. Anyone can help plz?

*KLANK* --> that's the sound of me tripping over your soapbox.

If you NEED a new phone, get the N80. If you don't, then wait to see what comes next.

                  'Nuff said.

Jesus christ. You now "N83" people need to get a f*ckin life.

I mean, there is MORE to life than some horsesh*t boring hunk of shiny looking plastic.

Would you people just give it up. That thing will NOT be released this year. Think about how long the N80 has taken. This is beginning to sound pathetic. If you keep on "waiting" on new, rumoured technology, you are going to end up buying NOTHING.

Now the N80 is out, but the desperate people ACHING to get it are now saying "wait, a new phone, dont get the N80.. wait! - N83!"

You did it with the N70, but no, the N80 was coming. Then the N80 comes out but wait... the N83 is coming! And yes, when the N83 comes out... Wait for the N85 which will be "rumoured" on the day of the N83's release... (thats 3 years and STILL no phone. Oh, if only 'one' could time travel...)

If you have waited on the N80 for years, just give in and f*ckin buy it. Dont waste your time waiting on weak-ass "rumoured" bullsh*t phones that are probably NEVER going to be released anyway.

Just buy the goddamn N80 and be done with it. Then in a years time buy the 'latest' model at that time. And then a year later...

If calling people, a 5MP camera, portable wi-fi, 4gig HD MP3 playback and decent battery life is bothering you THAT much, DONT buy the N80 - instead spend $1000 on an Ipod Nano ($200), a decent Sony 7MP camera ($250), a FREE contract phone (to call people), and a palm top PC ($500 - portable Wi-Fi). Then quit your goddamn b*tchin about sh*tty "rumoured" phones and keep your "feature laden" shallow lives happy.

Oh, and all of the above items you can actually buy right NOW. However, i should imagine newer models have been "rumoured" so the new N83 boys might be sh*t out of luck for buying anything EVER again. Pathetic.

Friends/girlfriends can stop this kind of desperate, boring behaivour.

Spoke to Nokia today. The N80 won't be US bound anytime soon. As far as I'm concerned, Nokia can kiss my black a$$. I cannot stand companies who bull$hit their way through business, kinda like american automobile manufacturers.

FYI...here is the cost from a site at www.simoncells.com which is only charging $799.00 for the phone on preorder! It just lets you know how crazy all the current pricing is. After the phone is available in the U.S., look for a price around $600. It will not be that long, and we will get to hear about all the bugs, problems, etc in the mean time. I know, everyone wants to be first....

seriously,i think n83 from the look is just a n80 in a different casing. it is quite impossible for the guys from nokia to just launch a phone after launching 3 new ones last week. either the guy who posted this is trying to dissuade the n80 waiter from getting it or he is just plain lonely to seek attention
and speaking about the quality of n83,if it does exist, it is truely a state of the art phone (5mp! wow, even the korean do have some problem with that too)
For all singaporean n80 waiters, the phone should be launched this saturday or latest is by mother's day as i have asked around and all the answers conclude that it will be out within the first 2 weeks of the month. however, pricing wise, it is most probably $998-$1068 w/o contract. this is juz a conservative opinion.

Lastly, to update on the latest software that supports n80, so far, i have only saw a program which is called sexplorer which works well with n80. i am not sure if the previous symbian 8.0 software works. but 1 good news for sure

all java games should be able to work!!
                                      n80, here we come!!
but first, i got to get rid of my phone and stock up all the monies to get this phone.
maybe...maybe n83 does exist and by then, we shall see how.
might not be surprisinig that some phone with even better functions start to appear!
