Precisely, I agree with Athe, if you have nothing constructive to contribute to the discussion of N80, do not post your comments here! You want to talk about how camera quality, price, battery life et cetera of the K800 and N73 are better, go to those forums respectively to post your opinion, rather than creating a mountain out of a molehill in this one. You are the one initiating the tussle right here.

Who's the intellectually-challenged one here? Look here, length X width is N80's advantage (smaller than average smartphones), while the depth is its disadvantage. It is a subjective, I repeat, subjective, matter. Being thick doesn't make it a "brick", and in the first place, 26mm doesn't make it "thick". Talking about K800, it is much longer than the N80, can't you see that "fact"? So how can you say that the "size of the K800 is more superior to that of N80? Another question here, do you know the prices of the K800 or the N73? No, you don't I presume. Moreover, you can't assume that the camera quality of the N73 would be better than that of N80, a classical example of a semi-debacle is N90 (CZ lens), compared to N70. Lastly, have you taken into consideration other factors before saying that the price is unjustifiable for all sane people? Have you taken into consideration that you can install 3rd party applications with ease? Have you taken into consideration that N80 is a quadband phone with EDGE, WCDMA, WiFi, Upnp, so on and so forth? Battery life, however, is the only thing that I can agree on. Based on specifications, it is poor, but have you thought about the fact that N80 is using a brand new OS (after N91 and 3250)? Can you assume that the OS would not be more energy efficient, leading to prolonged usage of the phone? Obviously, you are the one who is either brainless, or too confined by specification sheets to make that comment.

"they keep saying SE phone are great but why i don't see 100+ pages of comments there."

Thats because SE phones rarely raise debate becuase SE doesnt brainwash its customers into obsessive hype-induced daydreams over a flawed and massively overpriced chunk of plastic.

The only thing SE falls short of is perhaps EDGE every now and then, which is a POINTLESS feature anyway. Other than that Symbian, but lets face it, most people can quite happily use a phone without it.

Without arguement, SE consistently produces phones that have better CAMERAs, better MUSIC playback, SUPERIOR battery life, MUCH smaller retail price and all inside a SMALL phone.

The only thing Nokia seems to win on is including EDGE, (wow, f*ck me!), LCD quality and the inclusion of Symbiam. And thats about it.

The N73 looks like Nokia's best phone yet, so i would save your money and get that when it comes out. It will be superior to the N80 in almost every way APART from crappy Wi-Fi. Now you need to ask yourself, if you have had a mobile for the past 10 years and happily lived WITHOUT Wi-Fi, why do you even need it in the first place? (It's going to be a 'problem feature' for the next year or so anyway cos of battery life/energy consumption).

Otherwise, if you dont mind NOT having Symbian, then get the SE K800. Any person who knows anything about phones and VALUE for money will tell you that. If you want a SMALL phone, with a very GOOD camera, GOOD battery life, QVGA screen, CHEAP retail price and dont really mind about symbian, then wait for the N73 or K800. To buy the N-Chunk is stupidity at its very best.

        CMV

While it appears your intellect is not developed enough to understand factual comments, there really is no point arguing with a "fanboy" like you.

And how i bum SE i dont know, not least when you look down the page and read what i have written

"then you may as well wait for the N73"

All i am saying about the N80 is that yes, it IS fat. Your pictures have done nothing more than CONFIRM this. It is horribly fat. Reviews have already said that the Nokia N-Wedge (N80) due to its THICKNESS and weight is "not suitable for shirt or jean pockets", which kinda puts the thing sh!t out of sale, cos that IS pretty important. (Note phones getting SLIMMER and SMALLER these days, do you think thats for a reason maybe???). And while you say it is the BEST phone on the market, reviews have ONLY given it an average of around 80%. And you're saying a phone that is only classed as "good" is worth $620/$1000? You'd have to be pretty f*ckin stupid if you ask me.

And yes, the camera on the N-Wedge does NOT justify its asking price. The battery life is AWFUL. Other than that it has Wi-Fi. Then remember about how long the battery lasts (oh not to mention a battery sucking QVGA screen)... Then think about the energy demand of Wi-Fi. Then think about practicality... And then price. And then most sane people who are not wearing rose tinted specs comne to the conclusion that this thing is overpriced and FLAWED and there are OTHER phones more "worth" their money AND better value.

Cue the K800 (superior cam/batt life/price/SIZE), N73 (superior cam/batt life/price/SIZE). If you like wasting your money, get the N-Wedge and like 1980s brick phones, get the N80. If you like value for money AND a decent phone, wait for the two above models.

Was at Nokia Parkway Parade Singapore and asked sales people on availabilty and price.
They indicated that price was SGD1038.00 without contract and trade in.
They said it should be avaialable by early May.
Lets wait and see as I am sure we are all now getting use to Nokia poor commitment.

Brick like phone with poor camera and earpiece volume. I wouldn't waste $800 on it.

The camera won't ever be better than SE phones, that's for sure but you know what? The entire things coming together, Nokia will always have the best packages. For sure. The camera doesn't have autofocus but is great anyways. The design is nice and easy to use (fits right in the palm of your hand). Try it, you won't regret it. I got it for $650 in Vietnam, for those who was wondering.

okay for neeeeeks like m9f6 who keep complaining about the thickness of the n80...

                    http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j137/bostonirishguy/a3321b41.jpg

this photo shows the n80 compared to the thinnest phone out there - motorola razr. It doesn't look a lot thicker.

here it is compared to some other phones for thickness:

it doesn't appear to be thicker than the average phone :)

To all those neeeeks like m9f6 who are complaining about camera quality of n80... can you complain about these??

well they will be good enough for most, you might as well buy a digital camera if you're looking for higher quality than that.. or a camera phone with a carl zeiss lens. The people who buy this phone won't be buying it for the camera.. they'll be buying it because of the huge amout of features it has.

Oh, and heres a small video of the n80 playing a .3gp clip

                    http://www.uploading.com/?get=YM4TPFYU

one day m9f6 will realise that he's wrong and that everything he says is a load of shat and he'll stop posting here :d

Still SE K800 easily beat any Nokia in pictures quality. And Motorola's E398 or ROKR phones have better sound. And almost any 3G phone has more than 3 h talk time. The best phone in the world? Not really.
