Just because it's called "music phones" doesn't mean they are good... a comparson between the 3250, four SE Walkmen phones, and the Moto E2 at mobile-review.com shows that the 3250 is in last place. Here's the link: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/music-phones-en.shtml

So wait for the extensive review on this before you spend your hard earn cash...

              Oh one more thing Jonny,

If you love music, you should get the N91 or 3250 instead of N80. Those are what Nokia called music fones.

ok, thats great that some people WILL use the features of this phone, but it doesnt take away the fact that this thing is disgustingly fat.

Its clinically obese and probably the thickest phone on the market today. Embarrassing is such a good word to describe it. Its a borderline geek/prescription phone. People will probably think you NEED a phone that thick due to a serious medical condition.

And to the person who was laughing at someone "writing an essay" (oh, ahaha) on this website.

They clearly have never heard of touch typing.

Yes, you can write 500 words in less than a minute.....

                        wake up.

                              Jonny

The fone has a hot swappable miniSD card slot so you can put in a 1GB card and that will give you 500 songs. If you want, you can try the new 2GB card but not sure if the fone will be able to support it. IMO, it will.

m9f6 you must be some bigass low life to write an entire essay on this forum lol. What's the point in trying to discourage ppl from buying this phone when it's clearly the best phone on the market at the moment?

Heronimous - very true. Obsolescence is in every consumer product on the market though - cos it keeps joe public constantly spending and thus inflation rates dont start rocking violently from right to left & it keeps everyone employed, including the A-class idiots at nokia.

But either way, this phone would almost have been 'perfect' if ONLY they had shaved 5mm from its fat a$$. Which they could have done.

But cos they KNOW the N81 WON'T be a great deal more different, they had to CUT back on its processing power and make it nice and chunky. That way, when the N81 comes out, expect a 4MP cam, a 400Mhz processor (if you're lucky) and of course, it will be nice and THIN!

Just watch this space... I can guarantee that happening.

                                    Doesnt it suck being consumers?

Well, not really. Cos Nokia's GREED on this occasion i should imagine will cost them customers.

SE all the way right now. Though, can anyone recommend a decent phone, that isnt obese BUT does havea QVGA screen???

                                    thanks for any help!

Grat saying dude....but the world is like that always and u have to go with the world.
do u know that there is a fact."BILL GATES had the ideas of the recent Office and windows and even VISTA....long back when he started the company...but if he had introduced that that time itself...ts not business..though u know some thing....u release it slightly day by day......and u earn a lot....
i have allready said NOKIA is exploiting us...with SE giving battery of 9hrs in all phones...and a huge amount of money less tahn nokia...still ppl rely on NOKIA....NOKIA should use this name and establish...but they exploit....they exploit ppl's addict ness to NOKIA....
                                      strictly speaking....i own a NOKIA6600....
as i'm an engineer i try to use as many features as possible in the phone...and after 1.5yrs still i have not used a few features....
if i think silently....why should i go for N80 selling out 6600....guys think.....all features of N80 r there in 6600..except UPNP,WIFI....and EDGE etc and video calling.camera.,..thats all. nothing more...
6600 has a good battery compared to N80....

my friend has a 8250 bought when it came..still she is using it....with a changed battery.....
so if v need phone we can better stick on to 3310....nothing more u need.....but we cant wait...
our eagerness and curiostiy and our necessity to show off....makes these ppl richer.....if ppl started to think thats all no mobiles here afer all will shut down...

so if u like it go for it.....if u start seeing and analysing things..u will never end up in a phone...just go for it if u like it thats all....
thats tha natural life and no one can change it..

At first i really wanted this phone, but now i am having second thoughts for the following reasons:

                                        1. It costs a fortune. You are paying through the teeth for ancient technology (WiFi, High-Res LCD). NO way am i paying up to £200 for the "luxury" of this phone on contract - its PRICE FIXED. The 6680 was the same price as this when it was released last year yet you could get it FREE on contract. But with the N80, becuase it is so "advanced" you are gonna have to cough up for it. NO thanks. I'm not that much of a f*ckin muppet.

                                        2. It is disgustingly, completely unforgivably FAT. This is one of the most OBESE phones on the market and to walk around with it in any pocket of your clothing is a COMPLETE embarrassment. It BULGES out making you look like you have some kind of a serious medical condition.

I think it says something about this hunk of lard when there are PDAs on the market that are THINNER than this travesty of a mobile design. NOKIA, you should feel f(_)ckin ashamed of yourselves.

FORM IS AS IMPORTANT AS FUNCTION. 26mm thickness is a complete joke. The "brick phones" from the '80s were slimmer than this thing.

Right now, i'm tempted to wait on the SE K800 or the K610, with the latter probably being the best looking phone around. ALTHOUGH the prob with these two phones is that the screen res is no where near as good as the N80 and K610 only has a sh*tty 2MP cam.

However, at least their design ticks all the boxes.

And on the talk of function, who seriously ever uses WI-FI on their mobile (technology is too 'new' for the mobile market so the chance of using it somewhere OTHER than your home is very unlikely) or EDGE? Most the features of the N80 are never used, so whats the point in paying for them?

WHY o WHY do they never, ever produce the perfect phone?

Well, quite simple really: planned obsolescence. They could bring out EVERY phone with a 16bit anti-aliased, high-res LCD, a 7MP cam with flash and auto-focus, Wi-Fi, etc etc but if they did that, it would take years before they could bring out a phone that could better these specs and thus justify you buying a new phone.

That is why you will NEVER get the perfect phone. N80 - has everything but too expensive and embarrassingle FAT. K800 - crappy screen/no symbian. K610 - crappy screen/crap cam/no symbian, etc.

I think i might just stick to my 6680 thanks cos all the phones coming out in Q1/2 2006 are either seriously flawed or just not worth it.

I dont know why ppl are waiting on this disgusting chunk of plastic. It is overpriced, and most the features you would NEVER end up using anyway. Whats the point in just "bragging" to your mates about WHAT your phone can do if you never USE what your phone can do? Its horribly fat as well, which is the ONLY nail this thing needs to shut its coffin tight. 26mm - what a joke, its the fattest hunk of lard since the 80's. How embarrassing.
