To the person that made this comment:

"considering it has 27 hours of music playback i don't think it'll cost that much more battery life to watch movies but who knows"

It takes a lot more power, because unlike the music which is only using the speaker, movie would be using both the screen and speaker (unless you have some kind of screen saver running while you play music). The processor is going to consume a lot more power.

      Hi cmv,
According to the N80 user manual (a pre-copy supplied to me with the prototype), you can´t turn the WLAN off (!!). WLAN is always on. But you can turn on-off the search that phone does for networks, which consume a lot of power.
In N80, you configure a WLAN network/connection under "access points". When you create a access point called "WLAN" or "My network" for example, you have to select it under the menu "configurations" in the browser. Doing this, the browser will use your WLAN as an access point.
I don´t know if I explained clear (my english is not so good). If you have another question, please ask.
      Regards!

          Dan:

Just wondering, when you want to use WiFi to browse the net, how exactly do you turn it on.. i mean the web browser must be defaultly set to 3g so how do you switch to a wlan network if you want to use it in the web browser?

            Hi guys,
NO application designed for Symbian 8.1 or 7.1 will work in N80, which uses S60 3rd edition (a.k.a. Symbian 9.1). The phone only recognizes files with the extension .sisx (symbian signed). When I try to install normal apps, themes, etc in my N80 (prototype unit), it says "unknown file type". You guys that are waiting for N80 must know this.
            Regards.

i've just been on the mobile*bee and celluloco website. WTF?? on celluloco the n80 costs $1600,-?? and on mobile*bee it is $700,-. on both sites is posted that the n80 will be availeble in 10-13 days. so i guess we need to just wait and see. but, whats the deal with these prices? damnnnnn.....

Is it true that I will be able to use my VoIP SIP service with the N80 #? That would be just great! Does the phone switchs automatically to wlan once in range?

Why are you guys so annoyed and saying Nokia have delayed this phone for ages? They always said the first quarter, which ends today. The phone is definitely being released by vodafone, mobile*bee and celluloco in between the 10th and 20th of April.. so erm.. that's 1-2 weeks delay! No big deal!!

yo peeps. the website www.world-of-cellphones.com that is claiming to have the N80 is actually a fake website. i did a test using fake names and addresses and added the phone to a cart but when it came for payment it asks for western union or egola (whatever that is). this is definitly a sign of a scam so peep do not purchaxse from that lest u wanna lose ur moni ^_^

4TIm, according to the site you gave us, the n80 is auto focus and its battery is 240 mins (4 hrs lifespan).
my expectation from this cell is already great, and it's much greater when i read the product info. and it says it cost $550, US dollar right? i've read in an older site, that the n80 will cost approximately 560 euro. so the n80 is much cheaper now right!? hmm.. reading everyday in this user opinion about its prototype, I guess a prototype, is a prototype, the finished product is always a level above it.

In regards to the previous post, Russia is entirely too far for me to send $550, especially for a phone that as far as we know, hasn't been released yet.

i just finished chatting with my close friend who's on vacation in taiwan. he told me his sister bought a black nokia n80. if it's already available in taiwan, it shouldn't be long before its available here in the philippines, ryt? well i hope so. he told me the features are great. i can't wait till this comes out..
