to ac...

i only mistakenly write 65,536... sorry...
yes both color and resolution advantage are subjective...my point of why
i'm comparing the color advantage and resolution advantage is just to show the "PROPORTION" of those two qualities, if the color increase by 60 times then the resolution must also increase by 60 times in order for them to be equal(regardless of how our eyes see the change)

i hope you do understand my view... i'm here for peaceful talks, i'm neither PRO N80 or PRO N92.

    to all...

i'm not on the side of n80 or n92. what i just want to express is that the most appropriate ADJECTIVE for me to describe those two phones are... nokia n92 more advanced and n80 the best... n92 is more advanced because of the newer features it has... and nokia n80, the best because of the spectacular improvement of the previous technologies(except UPNP). any choice of you of the preferable phone will be diffent from mine. but i guess nokia n80 will sell much because it's more traditional to use than n92. and most probably n80 will be the phone of the year...

      to alex...

okay... okay... you're correct, i had some mistakes...it was a mistake to say that n92 is the most advanced and mistake for those infos i said... but the thing there is whatever feature is in a phone (whether useless or useful) should always be "counted" to its advantages. you should be logical... 2 speakers may only just improve the loudness but you should accept that it's a count over the other. dvb-h maybe useless but should also be counted...
16 million colors from 256k may not be as great as 352 x 416 from 240 x 320 according from you. the point there is a phone's features' advantages is not determined by how a user sees the improvement, but should be determined by how much "technically" it improved. again, 256k to 16M colors improvement may not be seen so much important in ones eye, 240 x 320 to 416 x 352 is then better according from you, but you should take it into a logical way... meaning if the colors increase by 60 times then the resolution must also increase by 60 times in order to be equal(regardless of how our eyes see the improvement.)

and if you don't buy a phone for high quality games, then you shouldn't DISREGARD that advantage of the phone to play high quality games, every feature-which is an advantage should always be counted-whether it's useless or useful for someone,
to determine the counts of features a phone has.

nokia placed the "newest" features (whether good or useless feature) in nokia n92, that's why it has a higher price... nokia spent money in building those "new features"

I don't know what's the meaning of advanced for you... but i only mean that n92 has the newest features, and nokia n80 is nothing new- but has spectacularly improved those old features except for UPNP.

i "GUESS" that n92 is still the more future-oriented phone because it has the newest features, n80 is the "BEST" because of all the powerful improvements it has, i hope you understand my view.

Unless you consider 6680 as a brick, since the p990i is slightly longer than 6680 by a few mm only 8) Saw a photo online putting both phone side by side and not alot differences in term of size.

in my opinion the best phone yet from any company - well done nokia- it takes the exeptional picture quality of the n90 and the fantasic features of the n70 and puts them together. it has the modern sliding feature that saves space in your pocket and has a very large for people who might need glasses.i just cant wait for it to come out. If you are lookin to get a new phone wait for this one to come out.

You never know what can happen till the last minute..

Like you said the N91 was held back the last minute. Until now it hasn't come out..

So what I mean is It can happen to the N80 also...

This is a powerful phone!! So they are looking forward for alot of errors and glitches..

                  alexx,
Yeah, that's a reasonable solution, but I wish that the N80 with all its outstanding "connecting" features would take in consideration how we move text in and out of the phone with ease rather than making it harder. The size of the N80 is the great thing and I've never been a Crackberry user, but using a stylus on my Palm OS based phone I can write as fast as anyone using a QWERTY keyboard.....and its easy! Thanks!

I think the se p990i would be something which capable to fulfill your needs. It come with both normal phone keypads and a hand writting recognition touch screen, as well as a mini qwerty keypads. I do find it more convenient especially when working with text editing with the stylus than using the keypads on the phone

I know.. It seems that people are so in a hurry to get this phone..

But they forgot about the N91.. You gotta remember N91 was launched 2nd quarter of 2005.. and its already 2006. Its not out yet..

So who know when will this N80 phone come out?

It can be 4th quarted of 2006.. who knows..

So N80 will not come out until the N91 comes out.

Yes, I know how to use a keypad on a phone, but then you wrote your silly response because you actually had no answer. I think the N80 will be a spectacular phone, but will it be a smartphone? ...I'm not sure. If you want a great display, outstanding interconnectability, and Nokia quality, it may be the best out there. That said, I USE my phone and I don't just show off its features to everyone. The fact that you have to press the keys multiple times to get a letter of the alphabet is a very slow method for sending a simple email or text message. Even with a dictionary support program, it takes awhile to send even a short note. It would be great to know for example, if there is at least an electronic keyboard that can be used with a stylus, but I'm guessing not.

curious: I think you should stop before you make an ass of yourself. So N80 isn't a xpress music phone?

                                        Goto: www.nseries.com and click menu - products - N80

Now, I don't know about you, but I can clearly see an "Xpress Music" logo right there. Are my eyes are trying to fool me?? It doesn't have dedicated music buttons ON the device, but it has support for dedicated music buttons through the remote control... You should've known that, but of course you didnt >_>

2 speakers doesnt always meed better soundquality either. It depends on how big the speakers are. N80 may have one big speaker while N92 has two small. We dont know that yet, so your thoughts on the speakerquality is nothing but specualtion. Please, post some FACTS and hard proof here, instead of just posting your silly own opinions on whats good and whats not, when you havnt even tried it out yet.

About the screen. I dont buy a smartphone for its games. I guess thats something you take into account, but not for me. I want a functional device which helps me in everyday life. If i wanted a portable gameing device I'd get a DS or PSP or something. A 2,1 inch screen is good enough for simple games which you can play whenever youre bored. I rarly play games anyway.

320 x 240 to 416 x 352 is a much better improvment than 256k to 16m colours. And once again you got the specs wrong. It's NOT 65k! Anyway, 416 x 352 is a better improvment because you will notice it no matter what your doing on the phone! The menu, programs, games, viewing pictures, watching video clips, and of course surfing the web! The best thing is that the font is amazingly smooth so even simple things as texting will be alot more pleasing to look at. You cant say the same for 16m colors. You will only notice a very small difference when watching videoes and thats not even much at all!

Ohh... And here's another interesting fact (this is important! dont ever forget it) N92 can only display 76,800 colors on the screen at the same time!! Wow! I guess that kinda defeats the purpose of having 16,000,000 colors doesnt it? And while I'm at it... N80 can display 146,432 colors on the screen at the same time which is MORE than N92. Yeah... once again you prove that you know nothing. You better stop talking before you do even more mistakes.

Anothing thing you got wrong is the amount of RAM. You dont even know what RAM is! N92 has 90mb of INTERNAL STORAGE which is COMPLETLY different from RAM. It has NOTHNIG whatsoever to do with RAM. Do some research please.

And no, the N92 isn't quad-band. Its tri-band. You make more mistakes than i can count on my fingers and toes.

About N92 being more advanced, thats a completly objective opinion. But N80 DOES have more features and it DOES have better/updated features too: 2mp -> 3mp, triband -> quadband, higher res etc. Therefor I'd say N80 is a more advanced, but thats up for the individual to decide.
