If the phone have 5 inch display it will have dimensions 1m X 1m and it will weight 1kg right? I´m cidding but you wont be able to cary it in you´r pocket, that´s for sure. And what are you going to do with 1,3mp camera for video calls? You wont need it because no phone have a 1,3mp display so the person you are talking to vill see halv or mybe a quater of that. So what´s the point?

Nokia N80i will be coming out in November 2006. It has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, Bluetooth Version 12.0, Infrared, Mini Vacuum integrated and has a secondary 1.3megapixel camera for 3g calls. N80i will have carl zeiss optics with vibration and
20 x optical zoom. N80i will be available around the world for approximately 550 euros.

I wouldn't be so sure like you on an unreleased product such as its sound quality. But its good to have faith in something which you like 8). Sound on se walkman series are indeed good imo is indeed good as compare to nokia current available models. And indeed as like you said, stereo playback from headset is more important than dual speakers on the phone since mostly will be listening to to thier music using a headset instead of blasting the music out loud in the public.
As overall, n80 is not a bad product. The only drawback will only be its weak battery life and a camera which does not have autofocus function. Talk time of 3 hours is kinda poor and the battery will die even faster if you are using the phone for multimedia purpose or video streaming. And I not sure whether the battery is replaceable by higher mah battery or not. I think all should better hope it can be done. And the 3mp camera is good but without auto focus, I am quite sure the shot taken won't be as clear and sharp as those with autofocus. It is quite a waste for a high mp camera without auto focus function.
Imo, n80 would be a better buy compare to n92. The dvd-h video streaming on n92 is a good feature but I not sure how its availability as well. I don't think the service is available in the place where I am which is in the asian region. And with the extra weight, many will think that its quite bulky, which including me.
Now I just hope that n80 and se p990i would be on sale asap so I can see how both phone performs against each other to decide which 1 to buy. For the moment I would have my choice on the se p990i

This phone is really good. It has a lot of features. But the only thing worng with it is it doesn't have a spring for sliding up. I was thinking to get this phone buy then it looked like a toy. So people who like phones that slide up with a spring don't buy this phone

San: N80 has mono speaker, N92 has stereo speakers. What I'm saying is that stereospeakers is basically the same thing as monospeakers since you cant get the stereo effect through speakers that are right next to eachother. Both phones support stereo through the headset though (which is NOT useless! That's VERY important).
N80 will have (pretty much) the same soundquality as SE K750i,W800i,W810i. I havn't heard how these sound though... All I know is that N80 has near CD quality. In other words, VERY good. But you should use a headset other than the one which comes with the phone.
I'm on N80's side btw. Though I'm not really trying to talk bad about N92, since it's an awesome device as well. I'm just saying that N80 is a better choice since it has more features and its smaller too. N92 has tv and thats nice and all, but N80 also has tv through 3G + alot better features overall.
Thank you for trusting me :) I've done alot of research on this phone since when it first got announced by nokia and I know quite alot about it. It will be my next phoe as well. It's certainly a safe bet. And don't belive people that talk bad about this phone. 100% of it is prototype stuff that will be fixed (like cameraquality etc.).

what are you saying then?N80 is better?which one has stereo speakers?
does that mean the sound will be as good as other phones are (SE K750i,W800i,W810i)or worse??
i'm really lost here and i dont know which side are you talking now!!......
to get to the point,what do you think of N80 cause i am planing to get and you sound understandable person,i'll trust what you say about it.
Oh and when do you guys think this phone would be in markits,it has been along time since they put in the cooming soon phone so i guess it should be out soon (month or 2 at most) isnt that right>????

Looks realy great. 3Mpixels on te camera is very good and symbian S60 is the best OS with a lot of software available. I think that nokia should only release S60 phones.

Hi people,i really really wana get dis phone but theres so many mixed opinions on it,i read its specifications and i want it but then i read the opinions n ppl r sayin its crap,i want a phone with wifi n this seems to be the best lookin 1 thats guna b out.

Once again you prove that you have no idea of what youre talking about. AGAIN! The fact that stereo speaker are useless is NOT just my opinion. Stereo speakers are not useful for the normal user, its not useful for the techno/mediafreaks, its not useful for sound enthusiasts, its not useful for minimalist users and its not usefull for anyone else exept ignorants and people that dont have a clue what their talking about and go all "stereo speakers! that sound cool!", probably like yourself...
I'll explain to you WHY stereo speakers are useless. For stereo to have its effect, it needs one speaker for each ear. If both speakers are right next to eachother it becomes MONO since both the soundsources come from the same place, which is, exactly what mono is. Where are the 2 speakers on a phone? Thats right, right next to eachother. In other words... mono! Expers have been running tests on this and they have found out that if the speakers are closer to eachother than the distance between your ears, the stereo is ruined and it becomes mono. Its not that hard to understand, even you can do it. Just try it for yourself.
Simply told: Stereospeakers on a mobilephone = mono. Whats the point in that?
You also got the comparison between the two completely wrong:

True, but stereo is useless and 16m color is ONLY good in pictures and video, nothing else, not games and not the menu or programs.

You also missed that N80 has quad-band and IR. Which one has more featuers now?
And by the way... 16m colors isnt 60 times better. You will only notice this difference in video and pictures, and that the same place were N80 is BETTER because of the much sharper display! Quite frankly, I'd rather have the sharper display of the N80 than the more colours of the N92. And I'm afraid it is you that are simple minded, since you dont even understand these features at all.

how did u say that stereo speakers are useless??? that's only your opinion... media freaks love it!... you're a normal user thats why... n92 has more advanced features... that's why its priced a little bit higher than n80. if n80 is more advanced then it should be more expensive than n92.

n80=3MP,finer display,small,autofocus,UPNP that's all...
n92=16Mcolor lcd,stereo speakers, dvb-h receiver,larger display,unique form factor,music express phone-meaning it's superb in playing music than your n80,90MB of RAM and up to 2GB capability...
so which is more advanced then???
n92 has 60 times more colorful screen than N80!!! is the 416 x 352 lcd of n80,60 times better than 320 x 240 lcd of n92??? more powerful speakers! they both have wifi... they both have 3G...
most users always want simple things thats why.. their level of thinking is of low class that's why they couldnt understand the advancement of n92!!!
n80 is so simple phone... yes... and also i'ts for those who are simple minded.

sorry if i told the thing that if n92 is smaller... ... i was also wrong in that but, my point is stereo speakers and 16million color lcd are of course don't appeal much for most normal users,because i'ts more than the average,normal users just want average. and technoids as i've said want spectacular features(like 16M color lcd,stereo speakers)even loosing one important feature. nokia n92 loose the finer display but it was replace by more colorful lcd. stereo speakers may not be important to most people because it's not practical for a phone to have that,but it will be important to those technoids. i would agree that nokia n80 will be the best because it got all the basic features... and nokia n92 just a runner up because it did sacrifice some basic just for some cutting edge technology... meaning n80 is a safe choice. and n92 is more advanced but loosing some important features. media is so important to me thats why i could sacrifice some of the important features.

I prefer this phone as its camera does not have cover. I try testing with N70, the delay is too long to open the cover to take picture.. my personal opinion. In fact N6680 is faster in that. However, still I prefer no cover for camera portion, as it's faster when taking picture.
