yeah you can make free calls with skype if the other person has skype too on their computer. or phone... But you have to pay for skype credit if you want to make calls to peoples house phones or mobiles! Unless theres a way round this?

Hey i thought u needed to buy Skype credit to be able to make phone calls to people who don't have skype themselves?

I believe a cold start takes 42 sec. I think when its booted the programs run smooth. but no1 can say for sure untill its released.

I hope the posts are right about 26th. Though i haven't seen many online shops that added the phone. But they probarly await the estimated price of the phone. at least more accurate one.

                    Hi All

I;m waiting this amazing phone release in Singapore. I saw reply from other users from here. Is it N80 will have same issue in speed or performance like N70 ? Like Power on , sms or loading program ??

                    Thanks

I think that you will phase some disadvantages if you buy this phone. the battrey is so stuiped , you will have to recharge daily at least. and the software is stuiped at the beginning.

my advice, Do not buy it. I tried the N70 and had both problems

                        This is for theloneamerican

Well Im an american as well...

And Well of course YES!! you will be able to use the full function of the phone.. with the exeption of the 3G UMTS that we don't about..

The WLAN is a different story.. Don't you worry about that..

What i was sayin is.. CINGULAR was suppose to get this phone..

They backed out.. due to the WLAN being able to call for free..

They want it off the phone in order to get it with their CINGULAR service.. but no worries feel free to get it unlocked.. you have limited warranty with Nokia USA anyways.. for the 1st time right? hehehe...

sorry but i'm a little confused here. the phone is quadband, so if it is a factory unlocked phone, it can be used with a t-mobile or cingular SIM card, right? i'm american and have used both a 6230i and d600 in the states on t-mobile no problem. so, i'm just wondering if the phone is WCDMA 2100 (and that isn't supported here as we all know), can i still use the wifi component? basically, i'm asking if i buy this phone (european/asian/whatever version), can i still use it in its full capacity with the exception of 3G/WCDMA-related capabilities? i'm thinking yes, obviously, but i would like some confirmation. thanks!

                            We know that Jo..

There are alot of WiFi Phones out there now.. And Pocket PC's..

The only thing is Provider don't support it.. they are not in favor of it..

You guys ever heard of Skype?

You can make free internet calls.. if you have WiFi on your phone.. you wouldn't need your provider..

That is why they like the N80 as a phone but take the WLAN out!

                            Hehehehe.. Funny!! HELL NO!!

                            We are favor of WiFi!!

I've just notified (grassed up) Verisign that the "http://www.mobileworld-inc.com/" people may be dodgy, and let them deal with it - I hate scammers!!

A lot of people seem to be asking about this mobile world inc. As i said a few days ago it is a scam. There have been complaints from people that they dont send products after payment. And the payment method- you guessed it, the old ebay scammers favourite western union.

lol there's no way they're gona take out wifi :P are you saying that in the US they have no wlan phones? If they took out the wifi in this phone i think people would go for the N92 instead. But with wifi this phone is definitly better than n92 even though it doesn't have dvb tv broadcasting. You can get TV on this phone if ur on vodafone live

yeah http://www.mobileworld-inc.com is one big scam. They got fake verisign certificates and stuff. They change their domain every few weeks cos it keeps getting shutdown. It's probably the same people who are scamming on ebay...

                                        This is for Mario..

                                        hehehe.. Your right man..

I don't think US providers would appreciate it if your making a free internet call on your phone using wifi WLAN..

Yupz I highly doubt it.. Cingular is not goin to buy tht phone unless they take out the WLAN.

Especially here in NYC whoa.. WIFI signals everywhere..
