Actually i think it is, i done a "whois" check on the domain, and it turns out it has only been setup a few days ago, even though it says on the bottom of the website, copyright since 1998! Also the international buyers have to send the money via western union... bit dodgey

Hey guys, i found a website which was a sponserd link in google, they are selling the nokia n80 for 500USD with free dilivery, however i dont think the company is real, it might be a scam??

Apparantly Carphone warehouse say they are releasing the N80 on the 26th Jan. Also another guy saw the T3 mag info that the N80 would be released before the end of january.

All the latest nokia (unreleased) phones on eBay are scams.
If the person selling has a high feedback then their account has been hacked and the scammers are using it to place their ads.
You will notice all the people advertising the phones say to Contact them at their own email address and not through ebay. They will then ask you to use western union to transfer the money. They say they are in the UK or US when they are more likely from Germany or Romania. If you try to buy your n80 off these people, say goodbye to your money!

I suggest people to start bidding on ebay only after the phone is effectively released. It reduces the risk of being hi-jacked by cams. Be excited but be smart. This phone sure look gorgeous...tell me about it, but it's not worth being ripped off....lololol

Look with good or bad specs you will probably want to have n80 because this phone its just beautiful and have all of those toys in it that the others don't!
N80 will rock the whole world in soon!!

Its got a priview of n80. A hint abt the pic quality. The reviewer didnt post a pic taken from it and is waiting for the final version, which means the pic was not that good. Other wise he would have posted the pic then and there.. :)

Hey dudes,
First of all, i read that the phone is having a nagging when u switch between menus.Thats the same reason y i preferred Nokia n70 over Sony's W800. If n80 is having the same problem, i shud better stick with n70.
Secondly, if N80 has Carl Zeisis cam, it is gonna be lot expensive than a similar class phone.
Lastly, the one i saw on eBay was a cheat who was claiming to sell this phone. I read out the review of the seller.
Well, we will wait and see how the prices are. Hope Nokia wont compromise on the quality of the OS :)

I remember, Cingular should have released the N80 on the 18th of this month. They did not want Nokia to implement the wifi thou because of fears of people using Skype to place phone calls over local wifi hot-spots (N80 is using the S60 OS which has a Skype terminal!) Nokia refused to disable the WIFI in order to protect compatibility and the Name brand. That in turn led to the phone's cancellation by Cingular :-( . So yes a worldwide, late January release is possible.

T3 Magazine (UK) seem to reckon that the N80 is set to be released at the end of January in the UK...I'll check with my local CFW (Edinbuegh) as I also hae me doots!

You wanna know something.. Ebay is an unpredictable place.. It can be true and could be a scam..
You have to read the fine prints..
And yeah this could be legit.. and you can have this phone in a week.. it might have a problem.. why would a seller sell something like that.. if i get my hands on these right now.. the only price i can give you is $5,000 take it or leave it.. remember its an hot item..
So you gotta think of does.. you have to open your mind through all these options that can happen..
Bottom line is! Use your common sense!!

Hi it's Richard again. Apologies I'm not 100% sure that CPW will release on 26th Jan, but the employee did tell me that it is due for release then & they'll give me a call. Obviously anything can happen & of course if release is delayed then they may not know that. I must say that I've had a Sony Erricson V800i for last 12 months & it's the 1st time I've come to end of contract & still been very happy with the phone! Richard Mid Wales.

it's only ten days time! We're hardly gona have to wait too long :p
Im getting n80 v3x doesn't have such a good screen (quality/resolution), doesn't have WIFI or UPnP (which are n80s key features) and N80 has 3mpx compared to v3x 2mpx!

Today spoke with CPW & was told they're due to stock the phone from 26/01/06. So it appears it's coming sooner then some people suggest.
I was thinking of getting the V3X but will probably hold on for the N80. What do other people think on waiting for it? Richard in Mid Wales.

To Jo - i wasn't comparing d600 with n80. what i'm saying is d600 has less features lower resolution display etc..and has higher capacity 950mAh battery. " they used a 820 one to make it smaller!" again - d600 is even smaller than n80 so how come they managed to fit 950mAh? anyways, i like n80 very much and therefore it drives me up the walls that nokia almost always cripple their great phones with lousy batteries. btw - d600 is a great phone too.
