subho, 11 Jun 2009dud cloned chinese phone are available all around the world... moretrue, you're right ofcourse, but i think that the odds are really small. Ofcourse it can't hurt to keep your imei private. I bought a lot of 2nd hand phones, so there's no way of knowing what they did with their imei's. They could be all over the chinese forums, but frankly i don't lose any sleep for that:) But your advice could hardly hurt:) regards!

upul, 11 Jun 2009could you tell me.inially when i am charging the battary n8... morethe first charge should be at leats 16 hours, but since the new generation of batteries come half way charged even that's not necesarry anymore. I charged new unit for a whole day just to be sure (it can't hurt), otherwise it's full in about an hour (that's when the message and beep alert occur) regards!

brod, are there any difference when you use ur 8gb or 16gb in terms of speed / hang ups / or alike? the vendor told me that they tested it with 16 gb and the unit slows down even u have no data in the memory?

Please.....like you said, nothing major can happend, and the operators have the imei's recorded everytime you're using the phone. So if someone in China commits fellony with my imei and i'm in Greece using the same imei for years, wouldn't you think it could be a bit odd:). You're watching too many movies, guys:) It's true you're being watched, but the question is if you're important enough. If anyone needs an imei for a N82, i can publicly make mine accesible here on the forum or any forum. Cheers!

Please explain how can th... moreIF A DUPLICATE phone is made using ur emie no. then u will be held liable to almost anything which happens to the phone.for example if a person buys a phone which has ur emie number and then he uses that phone to perform some kind of criminal activity and then destroys the phone after his wrong deed.then police will catch u becoz the emie number is recorded by the operators.if the police want the number operator will give it to them then police will use that emie number to track u becoz ur phone is still working and is using that emie.though nothing big will happen but some harassment will sure happen.

iolo003, 10 Jun 2009to all N82 dudes most of my 3rd party apps installed wer... morehmmmm..i would say you can try to copy the apps on the new card, but some will definitely not work (some gps apps use the card id and link the licence to it). So i would advise reintalling all the apps on the new card. Btw. do you have so many apps that u need to install them on a card? I install every possible thing out there on the phone memory and still have like 90mb free which is enough for the phone to run smoothly! Just a thought!

Jason, 09 Jun 2009I am reading some comments, just an advise: DO NOT GIVE ... moreso what if someone has your IMEI. Please explain how can that be harmful to the owner of the phone. Even if they manufacture a phone with your IMEI, so what? Stop being paranoid, please:)

to all N82 dudes
most of my 3rd party apps installed were save in memory card..
any idea how to transfer this installed app's from a memory card to another? i bought an 4GB card this morning, what i did was copy all the files on my old card to the new one using copy and paste but then when i squeeze in the new card, icons of my installed apps cannot be found on the phones screen. i can see them though on this the apps manager and they were labeled installed
any idea how to solve this? do i need to re install them again?
