Karthick, 29 Oct 2008hi i am new to these high end smart phones i am willing to... moreSurely Yes!
Ebay Price is about 18,500 for the black knight, and it should be at the same price that of mobile phone shops except Nokia Store of course, they undeniably are a bit pricey, 21,000 i guess.

one more thing for "anonymous": (kindly get a name)

Don't get me wrong bro. I got your point. N82 is meant for camera. It isn't meant for this and that like music and movie-watching that's why NOKIA chose to make it not good enough in those areas. That's what your saying right? Contrasting to my previous idea, then if that's what it is, that's where Nokia have gone wrong.

As we can see it, everything works in that exact same principle. This is meant for that, the other is meant for this. Nokia, considering they're surely market success, they should make a difference to that. Get it?

Although N82 is not meant for certain things it should still be good of what it is capable of. Everything that is there should be delivered right. A 16m screen but not bright enough by nokia parameters. 3d stereo speaker but you said it was lousy(but I dare disagree). It could've been much better if all the things that came with N82 made perfect sense.

Nokia had the perfect chance of making a difference with N82 and they had every opportunity to make it ground-breaking and revolutionary at a small cost in their part. What's the use of blowing that off?

                    to anonymous(other one):

Aside from color. The black and titanium N82 only differ in a little of this and a little of that.

The black n82 comes PRE-INSTALLED with a much later and newer firmware right out of the box. The titanium n82 comes with a little outdated firmware which could be, in some of the handsets, buggy and seemingly problematic.

Anyway, that's really not an issue because if you have a titanium n82 you could always update the firmware over the air or through Nokia Software Updater and you'll get the same firmware as seen on the black N82, or the recently released version 30.0.019.

You'll get the exact same performance.

                      to celladik:

thanks bro. So you mean. I can get the same brightness results as if from hacking it even at v30 firmware?

Could you tell me where you got it? And guide me please hehehe.. Someone here told I could get it from nokia mosh but I can't seem to find it. Could you tell me where to get it and how? Thanks.

By the way, if you have any questions regarding N82, except about this one, I'd be happy to help. That goes for everyone as well.

                        to anonymous:

sure sure.. I got your point the first time. I just couldn't get to be fully convinced about that. Anyway, enough said, The dimensions of the screen are already worse compared to n96 and the like for example when it comes to video watching. Why make it much worst if you could possibly do better at the cost of nothing? Now my point is, I don't think Nokia made this decision just to tell everyone about their assignation to N82, and they shouldn't if they're after market success. No room for sick marketing decisions.

Now what I think about it is that NOKIA thought putting it that way would be better for more people. The purpose is good but the means were inappropriate. You get it? They thought that people would like the dimmer screen because it will bear lower power consumption and it won't go hard on your eyes.

It's good that they thought about what people want but it's just not what it is. You get it? If I want a dimmer screen I could lower the settings myself and if I want a brighter screen I should be able to get it too. Consumers should always have the options, and we don't need NOKIA making the decisions for us.
                        You get my point now?

The situation of N82 is not hardware limitation or manufacturing fault.

It is "restriction", and restrictions are sick marketing ideas.

Anyway. Peace bro. I just wanted to give what I have in mind.

K800i cheap phone, cheap feature useless phone with cheap jOystick

I love this phone, but its made out of SHi*! ive had it for half a year, and the terrible build quality just pisses me off. Now the speaker stopped working. Im so upset. Theres nothing better right now (besides innov8), so you cant just put it on the shelf and forget about it... But you cant live with it either... Hmm.. From this perspective previous k800 was much better.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2008Samsung GT-i8510 INNOV8 vs Nokia N96 vs Nokia N85 : Hardwar... morei didnt really saw why innov8 was superior compared to N96, N85 or even N82 because it doesnt contain somethng different compared to the 3 feature wise

based on a normal consumer like me(95% the least) the specs of innov8 doesnt matter because we dont use them often in our daily life and we knew that it just adds up to the price. And you might have notice the cold attention of people when innov8 came out compared to the hype and interest that n96, n85 and n82

If you think of it generaly
N96 - consumer will get all the feature that innov8 have plus DVB-H and a 50euro bunos being N96 cheaper than innov8
N85 - consumer will get all the feature that innov8 have plus OLED, FM transmitter, longer battery life and 150euro bunos being n85 cheaper than innov8
N82 - consumer will get all the feature that innov8 have plus Xenon and 200euro bunos

Innov8 doesnt offer anything different from the 3 except upgrade of its features and extra cost.

TI OMAP 2430 model are the 2nd generation of TI OMAP chips, 2420, powers multiple hi-end Nokia smartphones(N93, N95, E90, N82) and has in fact an integrated 3D accelerator.
The improvement from 2420 also extremely numerous. The CPU frequency has been pulled up to 450MHz from previous value of 330MHz. The chipset can work with high definition camera(> 5 MP) and it take less than a second to take shot. The rest important point about 2430 hardware are an upgrade TWL4030 module (TWL 92230 was used in 2420). TWL4030 is multifunctional solution providing access to numerous codecs, dedicated audio processing module, noise filters, and so on.
Samsung i8510 is the first Samsung smartphone to fully utilize the potential of the hardware graphics accelerator. It is an absolute requirement for processing 8 megapixel images, real-time VGA video decoding with separate audio signal processing(done by dedicated DSP, excluding the possibility of using the music player and camera at the same time). The graphic accelerator can now handle twice as few polygons per second, commonly used to power the best gaming phone.
Nokia N85 utilizes the same hardware as N78, N81, and N79. Freescale is cheaper solution for the most expensive TI OMAP 2430. The lack of 3D accelerator is blatant in the Jbenchmark 3D test. N85 lags behind in other test as well. Despite the lags seen in the test, N85 audio quality is the same with N96, a bit above than N78, but a bit below than Samsung GT-i8510 INNOV8.
