chris, 28 Oct 2008to lalola: dude, you wasted your time making all of that c... moreu still didnt get it. every nseries device has its own strengths and weaknesses. n82's strongest feature is its camera - 5mp, carl zeiss optics, xenon flash, autofocus, good image processing algorithm... but n82, COMPARED TO N81, is weak in music department - no music keys, no naviwheel, low speaker quality, and no dedicated sound processor which is a must in a music phone. compared to n81/n95 8g/n96, n82 is also weaker in gaming than these phones - no gaming buttons for psp-like gaming experience. compared to n95 8gb/n96, n82 is weaker when it comes to media and content viewing - smaller, dimmer screen, lousy landscape content viewing (video, web, maps, etc.) because of lack of media keys as controls, and dedicated video processor (versus n96). the strongest feature of n82 is n81's weakest - camera. n81's strongest feature is n82's weakest - music. i hope you already get it.

            to lalola:

It doesn't end with just that. Why would they need to set brightness levels to low for n82 just to imply that N82 is not meant to be best for visualization functions? They could just let the brightness come to satisfactory levels, that't won't make it ground-breaking in movie-watching still. Given the dimensions of the screen alone and everybody gets the hint that it's not meant to dethrone n95 8gb or n96 in the video department. There is absolutely no need for pathetic restrictions just for the sake of highlighting the idea of assignations.

dude, you wasted your time making all of that crap up. Hey, were not talking here about what phone is designated for what. First off, N series devices are, according to nokia, all-around devices. Now tell me what's wrong with how I saw the situation.

                to celladik:
It doesn't necesarily mean they should throw in more effort. It's only a simple tweak, and it won't cost them anything to just alter it in the firmware configurations. If thay can make it just better at the cost of nothing. Why couldn't they? That's what I mean

chris, 28 Oct 2008first off... to anonymous(just below this post). how ... morehow u look at n82 is not how nokia looks at this phone. nokia created n82 for the purpose of being a camera phone thats why they gave emphasis to its camera by adding xenon flash, but limits its other potentials by throwing in a smaller screen rather than a larger screen; candybar form is compact and solid yet limited in functions; screen brightness was set to dim compared to other phones indicating that n82 can be also used to watch movies but not the best in that department; it plays music but music experience is rather lousy because of the lack of music keys on the phone and on the headset; a smaller battery capacity was thrown in rather than a larger one. nokia emphasized the camera capabilities on n82 but limits its other multimedia functions. every nseries device has its own positioning and target audience. if people want the best camera phone, then n82 is the right choice since its apparently the best in this area. if people want a good music & gaming device, then n81 is the right phone since its music quality and gaming capabilities are one step ahead of the rest. for those people who want an a complete multimedia powerhouse, then n95 8gb is that device because its form factor suits its purpose. n96 for tv and video playback because of dvb-h and dedicated video processor. see? every nseries device has its own positioning. n82 is the strongest when it comes to imaging, n81 is the strongest when it comes to music & gaming, n95 8gb is the strongest when it comes to media viewing because of its large screen, n96 is the strongest when it comes to media consumption. you may say that n82 can do everything that ever other nseries does but its expertise is set on imaging only. n82 can play good music and good games but not better than n81. it can be used to watch movies but not as good as n95 8gb/n96. so on and so forth...

                            Another thing..

                            about nokia..

I'm pissed with how they treat N82.
really dissapointed with nokia, not woth n82.

People complain about the screen brightness of n82. Nokia couldn't fix it with next firmwares. I really think fixing that woulnd't cost them anything, it isn't too hard to ask for right?
So ok, enough with that if they couldn't fix it. The least that they could do is to allow consumers to fix it on their own. People did it by hacking their phones. Which is great..

Now here comes nokia again with their sick idea of making the V30 firmware of n82 unhackable.

                            What's up with that?

                                first off...

                                to anonymous(just below this post).

how could you say so? n82 is just an ordinary phone? Of course it's revolutionary. It revolutionizes how people come up with night shots just by using their cameraphone. That alone is a great fact. The xenon flash makes a difference. Now can you name one N9x device that could beat it when it comes to that? There's none. Now if we will put it the way you said so, then I could easily say N9x devices are just ordinary phones too. If n82 does not offer anything spectacular in your eyes then how could n9x devices please you? It's as simple as that.

Besides, no one cares if n82 is flagship or not. It has features that kick butt and that's what counts.
I won't buy a phone just because it's a flagship device, I'll buy it because it offers excellent features.

Because if you're looking at it that way, you're looking at it way too insensible..

To All who complain regarding their N82 phones:

                                      1) Is your phone Original?
                                      2) Is it brand new?
                                      3) Does it have warranty?

If yes to all, then i don't think you have any problems if you find that something is not functioning well. Go to a Nokia Center, let them check your phone and demand replacement if defective. I don't believe those guys writing here complaining about their phone after 2, 3 or 6 months. Warranty is for 1 year. Batteries are replaceable within 6 months.

My phone is 7 months already. Battery was not good so I had Nokia replaced it. Now its good up to 3days with mormal use.

Had it upgraded to V30 a month ago, very fast and steadier.

Installed 30 applications, no hang ups. No problems.

So guys, next time you complain, read, check and understand nos 1 to 3 before you start bad mouthing N82 here otherwise you must have a fake and second hand phone.
