there are 2 major versions of nokia phones regardless of phone models:
1.EMEA - stands for EUROPE/MIDDLE EAST/AFRICA; usually "Made in Finland" units are these units; if pertaining to the firmware, EMEA firmware varians have European languages in the language option
2.APAC - stands for ASIA-PACIFIC/CHINA; usually "Made in China" and/or "Made by Nokia" units are these units; if pertaining to the firmware, APAC firmware variants have Southeast Asian and/or Chinese languages in the language option.

How about the... moreMost of the keys and buttons are okay, and I say that because the alphanumeric keypad needs a bit of you getting used to it if you just came from another phone with a bigger and flatter keypad. Good thing the keys were spaced adequately far, so I got used to it very easily. It is best that you have a go at a dummy phone to see if you have the thumb/s for the N82.

Good thing Google Maps had a reset option on Tools to delete user data, but other applications like Nokia Maps rely on the memory card to store map data, voice guidance, landmarks, etc. The upside to that and to other applications is that you can still get them back from the web.
So to everyone who gets to have problems with their phone and/or memory card and needs a fresh start, it is best to back everything up using a pc if a memory card reformat is inevitable.

we have the same problem, Nokia doesnt have a navi map of my country Philippines. They say that they dont have enough data to run a navi map. Their already into developing a navi map though for philippines being a country that were 90% of mobile users owns a Nokia phone.
Non navi map cannot used a-gps feature of N82.

Just found out you can't install the APAC firmware version on a "Made in Finland" N82. While you can install any firmware variant to the "Made in China" N82. Mine is a Finland-made black N82. If I had known this earlier, I would've have bought the China-made N82 instead. I need the APAC firmware version for my N82 but it won't install. Darn!

iolo: yup deres a third party software divX player or smartmovie or core player to play divx encoded video...bt i think the nokia video center is also a good converter..it converts the video into MP4 format which is more than watchable.. :)
and i would like to ask 1 more question,,what doz non navigable map signify?? nokia says derez non-navigable map for nepal..i cant c it in nokia map loader application.. GPS finds my spot bt its all green..no map at all...i created my own landmarks :(..can any one help..really appreciate it!! thanks

IMO stands for in my opinium....sounds thru the in-box speaker are average bt u ll need a third party earphones for a better performance..i connect mine wid my 3250 headphone and its better than dat of n82s'...btw i also conect to my home stereo system and sound rocks..:D.. and... if i remove the momory card the phone works smoother than ever...i mean wats the point of runing it widout mem card whn all my applications are installed in it.. and i finnaly drained my RAM..lol...i started all my apps in my n82 and 3 of then cudnt start due to low mem..:( i m frm nepal and finland made products are more than rare here... the dealer said that made my nokia product are the same bt can install the firmware of any continent...rather say it product..asia europe..anywhr..my phone N82 black version..from paramount electronics(really dunno whr dat lies..bt its imported one)...other features like tv out and java apps work like a blaze :) ...only prob i wud like to solve is my restart problem..if i give my cell to the dealer to claim my warenty..i may nt have my cell for few days :'(...i need my phone..!! :D should i reset my phone ?? thanks adnan for ur reply..:) bt its nt the solution..I cant manage more budget for a new card..i m just a student..:(

Hi, I would like to ask N82 about the sound quality of this phone especially through the earphones. I've read GSMArena's review that it seems to be lacking in bass? But how's the overall listening experience? Thanks!

I got this cell today really like it really fast. Made in Finland in silver.
It was had for me to choose between N82 and N95 but went with N82.
Btw just like to add E66 was the best looking of all IMO.

If you have some hang or restart problems even with latest firmware then I suggest you to remove your memory cards then run your mobile phone for a while without memory card. The memory cards which are supplied with the phone, maximum are faulty. If you see there aren’t any problem then you can sure about that, your memory card is the culprit; its time buy another bigger one or you can claim warranty.

hey all..xplore shows 206MHz processor on my n82 too..plus my phone gets hung everytime..2days of use and i guess it restarted almost 10 times..i m a bit heavy user..i use EDGE for Morange application..and after a few minutes of use it gets black screen and gets restarted..WTF!! abt wifi..sumtime it detects and sumtime it doznt...:(..my N82 has v20.0.062, 28-02-08 RM-313 firmware..and its made by nokia product..i got warrenty...do u think i got a damaged piece?? should i go for a change?? and also my '1' key doznt work time to time...and dere a bit of "krik" noise on the keypad...left near '1' key!!!
