Anonymous, 16 Jul 2008Hi Can anyone tell me how to use the flight mode. I cannot ... moreActually offline mode is a flight mode that you can find under profile.
Did mean visualisation? U can find that on music player while a song play pres left soft key and you get that on there.

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2008Hi Can anyone tell me how to use the flight mode. I cannot ... moreTo turn off the signal from sim u have to select the "offlinfe" profile from the profile selection.

The equalizer option is right over the audio setting option. While playing songs press option then u'll find it right over audio settings. R u talking about the blue equalizer? Its only the visualiztion not equalizer setting.

@vGc}: What I did was turn the phone's bluetooth on to pair the headset with the phone first before I opened Tools, then Bluetooth and under "My phone's visibilty", set it to "Hidden". After that, the phone would automatically hook up with the headset whenever I turn both bluetooth and my headset on. If I want the phone to communicate with another unpaired device, I have to set the visibility to "Shown to all" and pair both devices if needed and possible while making sure that the other device is safe to pair with.

Thank you for added info on Quick Heal!

Hi Can anyone tell me how to use the flight mode. I cannot turn the signal off the sim. I have checked with the profiles available but there is not flight mode option.

I would really appreciate if some one can tell me how the equalizers appear as shown in the review.

I didn't find the option while playing the music file. I found the option like balance, stereo and loudness but there was no option for equalizer. Please suggest.

Thanks a lot Buttons Up. Correct me if I am wrong in understanding your words. First of all I will turn my bluetooth on. Then are there any specific links for hiding my devise?? As if any one other searches my device that will be visible to them. But they cannot send me the data unless I have accepted them before or accept the transfer then.

Quickheal is a good antivirus. You can go with its trial version for one month before you decide to purchase. You can scan your mobile via bluetooth if Quick heal is installed in your PC. Or else connect it via data cable and select scan option. This is the only antivirus available in the market which allows PC to mobile scan for PDA, Symbian phones and all others. I purchased Quick Heal and used the Total Security antivirus over an year before moving on to Kaspersky. But I must say Quick Heal is really a good antivirus.

@VGc}: I forgot to mention that the careful use of bluetooth is under the pretext that bluetooth is widely used as the mode of transmission for mobile phone viruses (or at least last I heard it still was). I hope I've made it clearer for you.

VGc} asks, "can you please elaborate about hidden setting while using bluetooth headset?"

It was easy for me to do. What happens is that once I turn the bluetooth on, the phone would only be visible to the device I have previously paired it with (which in my case is my bluetooth headset). No other device can detect my phone while the bluetooth is on and set to "hidden".

It's a shame they have to charge us for anti virus software to use with our phones, while you could get one for your pc off the web for free. I haven't heard of Quick Heal, but with what you said on how it works I find to be quite clever. How do you get it? I might bring myself to try it when the need arises. Thank you for the tip!

Sure Buttons Up I will come back after trying this but for update using Wi Fi will not be a problem I guess. Can you please elaborate about hidden setting while using Bluetooth Headset.I am using Spybot- S&D for my windows 6.0 mobile phone. I have bought that and it caused me to shed a few dollars from my pocket. Although touchwood I never found any virus but I still like to take precautions. How about Quick Heal antivirus are they good?? It came to my notice that you can use them in your laptop and can scan your mobile device from there only.

@Adnan (Pxxd): It was a close call. If you're still curious, they were hoodies (but for the record I'm not saying that all hoodies are bad). That's a clue for you as to where it happened. I didn't go for the black one. I've always liked gray and silver.

Good advice on taking care of the battery cover, thanks. If anybody wants to do the same and had the film already removed, the plastic film for the PSP screen or for any PDA could be used as they are wide enough. Just be ready for some DIY action, though.

VGc} asks, "can you please tell me some good antivirus for this phone?"

I don't have one on my phone as I've always believed that prevention is better than cure. I set my bluetooth profile to "hidden" whenever I pair the phone with my bluetooth headset to be safe. But if you really need one, you could try Fsecure Anti Virus. It can be downloaded for free from the N Series web/wapsite under Applications. What you'll get is a trial version, though and you have to pay for the full version if you wish to receive updates (which will cost you again eventually as the phone would have to connect to the network). Do look around just in case there's a cracked full version, and please let us know if you got lucky. Also, come back here if you have time as someone else might have a better one to share with us.

Well about N82....its one of the perfect phone I have ever had...yah I admit that the keypad is a little bit small as compared to other nokia phones but we can compromise on it while it provides all other features which no other phone can.

Since I bought this phone I never thought to buy a digital camera...and why do I buy when I have 5MP camera with xenon flash.

IP Telephony feature is awesome which reduces my phone bill cost almost 80%.

No need to buy a seperate DSL/Broadband connection or HSDPA device when N82 Support High Speed Internet connection ( builtin HSDPA adapter)...I can get upto 300K download speed....what else you need!!!

oh yah Internet Radio :) and Nokia maps with GPS and guided voice...

N82 is best...I just love it ...muahhh

I would've bought N82 if only it has a different design. It's the looks that's holding me from getting this phone. I just don't like the design. I'm keeping my N95 for now until the next best thing arrives.

n82 is really a storyteller as what has been tagged to it. it even makes you tell fictional stories like that long one posted below..

Hey guys, here is one thing I discover today. You should a little bit careful about its backside. When you left your mobile on a table or something like that, it gets little scratch where its body touches the ground (where labeled Nokia Nseries and lower of it). So best is using a screen protector type papers on it. New Phone comes attached with that type of papers by default. So don’t pull it off until you get another paper like that or decided to use without it.

Adnan (Pxxd) says, "if you haven’t use one phone a while then you shouldn’t realize that what its disadvantage."

I have, in fact tried the N95-8GB. It was loaned to me by a friend hoping that I'd like it and he could trade it with the phone I'd get from upgrading. From my genuine experience of having used it I didn't like that the N95 slides open when I take it out of my pocket and I had to use a pouch so that wouldn't happen, that his wired remote's 3.5mm plug was already bent as he listened to music with the phone in his pocket because the phone had the connection on its side, that the battery still needed to be charged at sundown when I used a stereo bluetooth headset instead, that the card slot was missing while a 16GB micro-sdhc wasn't far from being made, and that I barely escaped getting mugged as I made a call with it while waiting for the bus. Those, plus the fact that it uses a flex cable which would bend and break in the near future (and I'm still using my repaired N80 as my back-up which will be my last slider).

So just after 2 weeks I gave the N95 8GB back to its owner and kept the phone I decided upon as an upgrade - the N82 (against the N95 8GB and N81 8GB which were both sliders). And I never said I was using the best phone ever, but it was the best I ever got to own so far.

You could start by visiting the N Series web/wapsite under Applications. Some of them are free while others are trial versions. Also, somebody pointed us to this link before: http://www.nokiasymbianthemes.com/free-mobile-applications Do try to read the comments section first before downloading anything so you'll know which ones work and which ones are bogus.

                                        @Manikandan or N82 users

I owned the N95-1. The GPS in my opinion was medioker.

Has the N82 improved on this or is it the same as the N95?

PS. I orderd an N82 black that I will be recieving in a few days.

                                        Thanx, eddie
