@ Adrian,,about backlight brightness,,just say im plodding along on web and my alarm goes off to remind me of something the screen goes really bright then returns to normal slightly dim,,so the screen is bright its something stopping it and i think its the diode and software because if you shine a torch on the light sensor the screen gets brighter,,take away the torch and it dims again

Also whats an inbuilt vga. And who says that having it will make xperia support 16.7million colors.worst joke ever cracked. Vga, qvga, wvga are just resolutions and have nothing to do with color count. I myself love the xperia for its specs.
BTW u proved ur point below by saying "dont ruin se if u have one".
That means u will defend ur brand even if it has the worst specs on d market.
Xperia is a good fone. Both n82 and x1 have weaknesses and strengths. That doesnt mean that you constantly keep thrashing nokia just coz u own se.

you are right man. I wasnt aware that the arm 11 was a dual core processor. Does it mean that 332mhz is actually 664mhz. BTW N82 rocks.

Here are the facts:
1. X1 heavier by 31gms than n82.
2. Supports 8gb cards and will support 32gb whn they are out.
3.n82 Gprs 107kbps (as compared to xperias 32-48kbps)
4. TV out port.
5. 5mpx cam against 3.2mpx of x1.
6. Xenon flash as against the leds. Not just this, the xenon is the most powerful one than any other cam phone on the market. No one comes even closer. (check the pics on any site if u dnt believe me.)
7. Supports NGAGE gaming platform. Look at those high graphics in fifa08 & asphalt3. Show us any brand fone that supports that.
8. Already awarded the best imaging device by TIPA in europe.
9. Also awarded the best camera phone in phillipines.

All N82 owners, be proud we have the world's best phone ever, as reflected by the ratings on gsmarena!!
Btw, I used to have 1-2 restarts everyday during the 1st few days i had bought my phone. Just do a hard reset and it nows works like a charm without any restart or hangs. GPS sometimes takes a bit longer to lock though now...but i can live with that...just a few seconds more...
Installed all major softwares on the net...nearly 60-70 applications and games and not even a tad slower!!

I have a P1i / W960i and i knw how they get dirt on the screen easily. X1 is nothing from Sony Ericsson. Only advantage is:
"400MB Internal Memory" vs 100MB Internal Memory doesnt make a difference. people just put things onto ther Memory card dese days. n btw N82 supports up 32GB ! No firmware update needed at all...
"128MB RAM, 256MB storage memory" N82 has 128MB RAM but no additional storage memory.
"Qualcomm MSM7200 528MHz processor" N82 has a Dual CPU thus better multitasking. than single core 528Mz CPU.
Dis is wat X1 has TFT touchscreen, 65K colors lool. N82 has 16Million colour screen lol..only advantage X1 has is the 800x600 resolution in pixels.
"X1 Wi-Fi 802.11b/g" n n82 has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, UPnP technology
BTW Windows Mobile is open to more virus attacks due to microsoft h8ters out der known as hackers lol...

btw I hate toucshreen everytime u gotta keep cleaning ur display coz dirt get stuck to it. even with screen protectors ! Have u seen size of X1 looooooooooooool...
n82 cheaper dan X1 ! n wat ur getting in X1 is nothing compared to N82.

X1 CPU is nothing compared to N82 coz N82 CPU is;
"Texas Instruments OMAP 2420, Dual CPU, ARM architecture (ARM 11, 332 MHz)"
Hence Dual CPU...

the n82 backlight problem is not on its diode! actually i think it is in the software, have you ever try to observe when you turn on your n82. at first the screen is as bright as the n73 and then it suddenly weakens. and i had downloaded some applications to my phone and i was surprise because as i open it, its very very bright! as bright as my brothers n81!!!!! bat when i exit it, it goes back to the original brightness, i think we should hope that there should be a firmware that would increase its brightness. or an upgrade to the current firmware.or a plug in uplication to improve its brightness.

got mine n82 black 2 weeks ago. it is the best phone ever made. picture quality is amazing with xenon flash. gps locks in less than 20 seconds inside my house. :). sometimes it only takes 2 seconds. surfing the .net and watching youtube is free using wifi... good stuff.

Got this phone n dam ! the picture quality is amazing !!! excellent phone and very stable and I have flashed it to v20. the phone rocks ! too shame for its music quality via headphones but the speakers are loud now that's wat u call a smartphone.

well see how long X1 will be heaRd or survive..after all non of there units live long even if its still a touch screen..thats a fact..well see how many people would go for it if its the best of what u say..action speak louder than words..who said nokia aint got no touch screen? where have you been outer space..it also has 7.5 megapix on it too..well so proud of SE ehhh..SE is a dying breed you know, read it here so youll know..

As to live television programs, the N82 does not have DVB-H like some of its N-Series siblings.
Fortunately, it could still be able to receive television feeds through GPRS, UMTS (3G) and HSDPA (3.5G) if your network carrier offers that service.

YOU ARE RIGHT! and it's true that N82 has Xenon flash and 5MP camera.WOWWW both of the devices is very cool and EXPENSIVE!!!!!!The devices purpose are in order to take a picture in good quality, i agree with the purpose BUT XENON FLASH AND 5MP ON QVGA SCREEN HAHAHAHA IS USELESS even you can not use the devices at real quality and just make the phone to be expensive, you know Qvga can show only 76800pxl on the screen so 5MEGAPIXELS on qvga (76800pxl) is stupid.wasting money for buying the phone with useless devices. What a shame!!! look at Xperia, WVGA (384000pxl) is 5 times better than QVGA (76800pxl) so although X1 only has 3.2MP but xperia resolution screen can show pixels of MEGAPIXELS OF CAMERA PICTURE 5 times than qvga screen.

It would have been nice if the N82 had the version of QuickOffice that could edit files. But considering Nokia's marketing strategies, they've put it in the E-Series where it would be of greater use.
Fortunately, the QuickOffice in the N82 can be upgraded and can be yours for life provided that you'll pay for it after the trial period expires.
