@jon

I'm not sure of this one, but i think N82 has a different/better audio chip than N73 that's why N82 has better audio quality overall. You can notice it when you're listening to a headset or an external speakers. The only advantage of N73 is, it has bigger speakers that's why it's louder.

If you are not satisfied then test it yourself, load same mp3 song to both unit and listen to it by using an external/computer speaker with the same volume setting.

Good Luck!

        nice features but the only problem is that the buttons are too small to press and the design is not nice only the back design of this phone N82 is pretty but not the front design...

            @jana

            Is the place you're buying your n82 a cellphone shop? Or are they just selling that one unit? you may chech the serial number of the phone by pressing *#06# at the main menu of your phone and then compare it with the serial number on the box.

            and don't worry so much on the price difference with the nokia store. i bought mine last january at sm bacoor for only 19,990 while its price at nokia store is about 24,000++. Nnokia stores really sell much more than those other cellphone retailers here in the philippines because they carry the name of the manufacturer. oh by the way, check if the box has a 1 year warranty sticker, that way you can have your phone replaced or repaired just in case you'll be encountering factory caused problems....

                @jigs_84
                thanks to your answer.
                But i still wanna know these details.
                And i know that the black one does look better than this silver. it's way cooler.

                Or do you know when is the black version coming out here?

                Hi all,

                I have a friend who knows someone from RP-Ermita is selling at 19500, cash. Do you think i should consider buying it now? meaning this price?
                It's 22,430 at nokia. Have this inquired just before this posting.

                What should i check for when buying this phone? Please be specific on your answers. I wanna make sure I am buying a non-defect n82 phone. and with nokia warranty of course.

                If I buy this phone from a stall/tiangge how will i be sure that this phone is really with 1 year nokia warranty? Only if your phone is defect and needs service, which noone wishes this to happen. Is there anything/stamp in the phone that can verify this? Hopefully not only in the box, cause seller may also change the box, who knows, right?

                Thanks to all.

                All your answers are very welcome.

                  At last, N82 firmware is now available here in the Philippines. Right now, I'm downloading its firmware. My N82 current version is 10.0.046 and the available firmware which I'm currently downloading 20.0.062.

                    Hello Father Vince, thanks for answering my question. I have another question for you or to anybody here who knows more about celfone. My question, is upgrading the firmware of your celfone destroy your phone in the future? I'm just afraid that it will damage my phone if I have to do the upgrading. Hope you could enlighten my mind. Just afraid to do so because you know celfone is very expensive nowadays. hehehe.

                        To qtrp,,

                        I can feel your frustration as its bad enuf waiting for a the n82 to get into the shops here in uk never mind not at all...It should be standard these days to cover all frequencys and easy nuf to install as its old tecnology and you would think it would be in the manufacturers interest to sell more mobiles worldwide....Here in uk we miss the Sharp and Foma mobiles that are in japan that are slim beauties with all types of gadgetry built in but will not work on our 3g networks,,they also stopped selling them in europe because of bad sales,, NO WONDER they cost the earth we are talking i-phone prices..When south korea and japan show off their mobiles at trade shows i always wish they would hit uk but few rarely do,,,BAH HUMBUGS

                          I always get my cards from mobymemory.com

                          I initially started buying from them for best price but mainly because they test the card with the phone before releasing it in their group of mobile fones compatability with the card listings,,,i dont know where they are based but it could be uk where i am..

                          In samsung d900 forum their were debates that some models could take a 512mb card and some 2gb and most agreed that sandisk were the best and safest bet to use and that different d900s are in different parts of the world,,,but i say this because i bought a toshiba 1gb card and it did not work in d900 but sandisk did !!I have always used sandisk but i think kingston may be more popular outside uk and they always get good reports..

                          to buy near you may require asking and being reccomemded by ear as they say near you..

                          I got the sandisk 8gb hc card with a little usb red/black adapter for £39.99 in february so for you to convert i am using "british pound "on currency converter ..

                          I got used to this discussion board being worldwide years back so thats why its best when you ask question if you put where you are from which you did father vince..

                          As transflash used the sd standard they converted it to micro-sd which then went on to to the high capacity version and they gave it a theoreticall max value of 32 GB,,it may hold 40GB but they are not going to that expense for an extra 8gb i hope..also a 6gb hc card is available for some reason ???

                                Hey guys... Been using the N82 for 8 months now... Never had problems with it... Quick and stable and reliable phone... Just updated to the v20 firmware 2 days ago, well the phone is even more quicker, the autorotate feature is even better now quite flawless... It even rotates now at 20 degress incline... Just like iphone... Many more feature with this update like geotagging in the camera software itself. Im beginning to love this phone even more and more everyday.... N82 rocks...

                                  @jon

                                  Sound comparison between N73ME and N82:

                                  1. Listening to phones built-in loudspeakers - N73 is louder
                                  2. Listening to a headset - N82 is louder
                                  3. Listening to an external speakers (altec lansing) - N82 is louder
                                  4. Sound quality - N82 is better

                                  Therefore, N82 wins.

                                        About memory card 8gb,,when i bought mine it came with a special usb adapter to make sure it will work as most card readers will not support this hc version... I cannot swear by this but its just in case its not recognised by comp,,,I have sandisk v-mate to record off tele and is hc compatible but cannot get 8gb it to work with it only 4gb???The v-mate can be connected to comp for updates but have not tried this yet theirs so much stuff to try and n82 is still full of apps to explore...Still have not used sports tracker yet but its all set up ready for action!!!What a mobile its got so much in it and its so small if you think whats crammed into it..
